I bought some really fun Easter eggs to hide. H and I were talking about the "what to fill them with" predicament last night and I think we decided they're just going to be empty, or if I find some stickers we might get those. I also bought a Bubble Guppies bubble blower/wand thing, so that (and bubbles) will be in the actual Easter basket.
ETA - we also did literally zero for him for Easter last year, so I'm excited for his first Easter egg hunt!
So far for C I have: Children's gardening set (dollar spot at target) Matching bucket hat (again dollar spot) Matchbox cars "Easter eggs" filled with play dough One of those giant pencils (Kid loves the one that was in his Christmas stocking) Tube of mini m&ms Book- mighty, mighty construction site Book- digger, dozer, dumper.
His eggs will probably have cheerios or fruit snacks in them.
Easter/ spring books. Probably popcorn twists because the kid is obsessed and I bought two sets of Uncle Goose blocks at Christmas that I didn't give him so I might break down and give those to him but I might wait for his B-Day.
Oh! And I almost forgot we've got the little people Easter set stashed.
My parents went beyond insane and bought him a ride on tractor... I didn't even know what to say to that. My dads justification was that it comes with a trailer so we can use that as the Easter basket...

Last year we did a little basket for her with puffs in the eggs and we had friends over and did a hunt in our backyard. She mostly sat and played with one egg. Also Bluebonnets is a huge thing here so we do pictures in the field near our house.
This year we'll probably do small amounts of candy like M&M's, cheerios or fish, a small stuffy and some bubbles. We don't go crazy with Easter.
I have some wish lists with ideas going but Im still a little undecided about what to put in them this year. Last year i really regretted the sidewalk paint (chalk) and oversized bubble wand set-- both were way too messy. The swim suit idea is a good one.
We go to 2 different Easter egg hunts in our town where they get bags of candy at both so the Easter bunny basket will probably have non candy stuff (a book, crayons, playdough etc)
We don't usually do anything more than a little Easter egg hunt but the gardening sets have me spiraling on Amazon, I love that idea! We are putting in our first vegetable garden this year and they'll definitely want to be helping with that!

Wooden Minnie Mouse puzzle Sandals Swim suit Sunnies Fruit Necklace & Bracelet set Bath crayons Bubble wand Elena of Avalor straw cup (Disney Store) And I'll throw the mini packages of yogurt raisins in Easter colors in the Easter eggs.
I'll probably just get little things from the dollar spot at Target and make her some flower crown bunny ears again. The other day she called an unopened tissue box a present and kept asking to open the present LOL. Once I did she was excited to start ripping out tissues, so maybe I'll throw a tissue box in there.

Hey ladies, I'm curious about your traditions also... Growing up we had to find our Easter basket, which would have some bigger candy in it. After that we could search for candy all over the house to fill up our basket. Is anyone doing something like that or an egg hunt this year? Or are they still too little to really get it?

We'll do an egg hunt at my grandparents' the day before, and then he'll get an Easter basket Sunday morning with a few things. I think if you put the eggs in plain sight, it shouldn't be too challenging for him.
Also, hi!
Heeeey Yeah I think I might have the basket out and then have a few candies and things hidden. See what happens!

carolyngrace, we're planning an egg hunt. I won't hide his basket, but we got him a Paw Patrol bucket thing and have been "practicing" collecting balls to put in it, so I'm thinking he'll have fun collecting eggs this year. I'm so excited for the years down the road where we can do bigger hunts - my mom always went all out for us!
You guys inspired me, did some amazon shopping and I found them each a set of garden gloves and a tool set (each about 3 feet tall) that we'll split between them. We will throw in some seeds to plant, they are going to love it! DS already told me he wants to grow sunflowers.
I've got a board book about the story of Easter, bubbles, new egg shakers, a Mickey coloring book, crayons, and grabbed some eggs to put stuff in yesterday. I might get some finger paint a scribble pad too. He's lacking in art supplies so I figure this is a good time to get them.
I got these for his stocking and they'd be great if you're still looking for stuff. I stick him in his highchair with them while I get ready, do dishes, or go to the bathroom. They'd also be great in restaurants but I never remember them.

We keep those in the car for road trips, restaurants, etc. There's also an invisible marker version that my boys like.
Here's what I've got right now: For W: Bathing suit Bath toys Sticker coloring book Crayons Puzzle Bubbles
For M: Bathing suit PBK mini beach towel Considering getting her an LL Bean tote with her monogram
Do it! We were given the LL Bean monogrammed beach tote for DS birth and I love it. We use it for beach trips and it holds both our kids beach items and toys.

For those of you that use the same basket every year, how does that work? Do they leave out out empty or does the basket come from you?
We're in a hotel every Easter, and the Easter bunny leaves a basket for the kid/ kids for them to find Easter morning. I always like the idea of using the same basket but 1) it would need to be small and soft enough to pack in our luggage and 2) I feel like at least LBB would question how the bunny got his basket.
billyhorrible, I had the same basket every year growing up. The Easter bunny knew where they were stored and filled them, duuuh. Maybe he picks them up from your house?
billyhorrible, we had he same basket each year growing up. We'd leave ours out near the door so the Easter bunny would pick them up by the door and hide them somewhere in the house. We'd have to go searching for them Easter morning. My mom would make a trail of jelly beans from the door to where all our baskets were to show he was there. I always thought that was the coolest because the bunny would poop a trail of jelly beans! Of course I'll be doing this for E & L because cool things like that never go out of style 😉

Ooo this is a good idea. Â We will need a beach tote for the summer. Â Do you have any idea what size you were given? Â I am never sure what size to get with those.Â
I'm not at home so I can't measure it but I'm thinking it's at least 24" long . It's pretty big.
