My final "name" thread, promise...

Apparently last Thursday's tearful meltdown softened DH up and the impending induction lit a fire under his ass. And suddenly I'm not so neurotic about the whole C initials thing... no doubt one of his sisters said it should be a serious consideration, so obviously it makes sense now. #ragingeyeroll

Kimberly HAS to be a middle name for one, and I feel bad the other won't have a namesake like Charlotte and one twin... unless I use my name? Weird? Way too many C's? Would my favorite color (any shade of purple) middle name feel like a snub?

I say go for it with the C's. I wouldn't worry too much about "meaningful" names and one child feeling excluded. If you love their name, it's meaningful. I think Caroline Kimberly is a nice name.

Honestly I love both sets of names. I'm really of no help. I prefer Caroline and Cecelia as individual names though.  What about Violet as a middle name? I love that too. Isla Kimberly or Cecilia Kimberly and Cecilia Violet or Caroline Violet. I feel like Kimberly has to go with a softer first name instead of another hard-C/K sound like Caroline.

I think they are all beautiful and I wouldn't worry about balancing out meaningfulness. I voted for Isla because I prefer less matchy twin names, but the other option is fine too because at least they don't rhyme. : )

Isla is beautiful, but Cecilia and Caroline have the timeless, classic feel that Charlotte has.

I'd go with Cecilia Kimberly to avoid the hard C/K sounds in the same name. It's not too many C's and it's not weird to use your name as Caroline's middle (though I don't really know your name, unless it's Lydia, and then Caroline Lydia is beautiful)

The hard C/K combo was my thought too. My name is Christina, so it's basically the same as using Kimberly lol

I love Cecelia Kimberly.
I looked up the meaning and Kimberly refers to the wood of the royal forest. What about a nature themed middle name for Caroline?

I personally like the pseudo-alliteration. I have a good friend whose first and last name are hard K sounds and I always thought it sounded cute. However, seems like I am very much in the minority per the board's reaction.

I love both Caroline and Cecelia but I voted Isla/Cecelia because it's less matchy. Cecelia is my favorite name by far.

Isla Caroline and Cecelia Kimberly would be my vote. Second place would be Cecelia Kimberly and Caroline Isla.

Caroline Kimberly is way too clunky for me and Isla Violet has no substance.

My siblings and I all have names that start with S. So, I like all the Cs.

Also, I'm the youngest and my sister and brother both have meaningful family names and I would be hurt if I didn't. Obviously you have no way of knowing if one of the twins will care if their name isn't a family name, but I would have a hard time doing that because it means a lot to me that I'm named after both my dad and my grandma.

Could you use Michaela/Mikayla (I don't know how it is supposed to be spelled) as a middle name?

I think you should consider using your own name, if you want. I think it would be really cool to be named after my mom. We were considering using my first name as a middle name before DS turned out to be a boy.

I never know how to pronounce the name Isla but I know it's becoming a popular name so don't listen to me.
I think Christine would be a lovely middle name. I also love the name Amethyst. (It's my birthstone and I have a friend named Amethyst and she is simply lovely.) I haven't seen Cecelia spelled that way. It I don't think anyone would stumble over the pronunciation.

The Spanish pronunciation is is EES-la (island). The American pronunciation is EYE-luh.

I was saying the Spanish pronunciation in my head.  I've only known one EYE-luh and she did not spell it Isla.
