It's just me and C again until after nap time today. I decided to attempt the three day potty training because we don't have a lot going on and we're getting our carpets cleaned on Monday. C has been going on the potty since she was like 18 months but I wasn't very consistent with it and she still goes in her diaper too. If she's naked though she catches herself when she starts to pee and tells us so I'm hopeful that she'll catch on ok. It's worth a shot I guess!

Good morning everyone!! I was a bit MIA yesterday but read up late last night after driving home from a friend's in a blizzard! I had such high hopes that spring was here but there's a bunch of snow forecast for this week, including on my shower day which suckssss!!!
We have a pretty busy weekend ahead. Celebrating my bff's 3-year old's birthday today with ice cream then a party tonight with DW's co-workers. Tomorrow we have a bridal shower which should be fun.
I have a bunch of homework I should do for a busy week ahead but my motivation is so lacking.

Have fun at the party rosesquared! I thought spring was here too but we're also getting more snow now. I love winter but I think I'm ready for some consistent warmer weather!
H is away to look at houses, so I'm going to focus on cleaning, going through what we have, looking at organization options, etc. And also just relaxing after a tough week. H was all worried about leaving because we're getting snow. It's as if he forgets that I am from the north, and have lived alone. Silly man.
My sister is visiting this weekend and DD is having a ton of fun playing with her aunt, which also gives me a bit of a break. Nothing specific planned, just all hanging out together
I knew the spring weather we were having last week wouldn't last but the 31 hour blizzard we got this week was a bit much.
DH is taking DS to his first NHL game tonight (well that he'll remember - he went as an infant). We only have 2 tickets so I get to hang with my BFF while the boys are at the game. DS is super excited. Hopefully the crowds won't be too much for him.
C has only had one little "accident" so far. She was crouched down and started to go a bit and let out a little drop. She said "uh oh mummy peepee!" And ran to the bathroom. I'm so proud of her.
My sister headed back to college today but my ILs are visiting this weekend, so DD isn't too bummed. It always breaks my heart when, after my sister's breaks, DD runs around asking "Kiki? Kiki?"
I was at a dance competition most of the day but my girls took 5th in duets and 1st in Pom, so that was exciting!! I just got home and everyone is at the pool, so I'm debating whether to do my homework productively or nap!

We had dd's 3 year pictures this morning and they went pretty well. DH put the idea in dd's head to bring a princess dress up dress and take a few pictures in that. I wasn't thrilled at the suggestion, but she loved it and I think there will be a few cute ones (she had 2 other outfits). We also did some "maternity pics" of dd hugging and kissing my bump while there today that looked cute on the camera so I can't wait to see them!
Getting ready to wake dd up from her nap and then hopefully going to look at big beds for her. She has been in a toddler bed for about 6 months, but wants a big girl bed and a purple room!
GL with potty training tortor4! Once DD decided to do it, she made it so easy with just 1 accident by the second day and did #1, #2, day and night all within 2 weeks! Sounds like your dd is ready!
H did all the cleaning today while I ran to the vet and stopped by goodwill! I found a lamp for my work desk and a pretty platter to put fruit on, and got both for $7. Since cleaning was done I've been working on some more organizing, along with taking care of the kitty.
Those pictures sound great cubbiebear325! I'm dying to get some of C with my bump too to put up in the baby's room. How old was your DD when she potty trained for night time? C is a super heavy wetter when she sleeps so I figured I'd wait on that for a while.
H is working later than expected so I ordered stuffed crust pizza for dinner thanks to the FFFC thread on parenting.

Hi! It was a beautiful day here so we spent a lot of time outside with DD today, especially since it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. We were going to go to dinner at Chilis but as we were passing Steak 'n Shake, DD decided she wanted to go there so that's where we ended up. I guess I'll be forced to get a milkshake now.
tortor4 We had did house arrest PT training last weekend and DD2 has been doing great. She got a little resistant the second day which led to a few extra accidents, but has been doing great all week. I'm toting a bag of extras everywhere, but she seems more likely to make 27 trips to the potty at this point to check them all out. Good luck!!
chknma I knew someone here said they just did it, I just couldn't remember who! I'm really glad it's going well! I feel like C is going to be resistant tomorrow too just because the novelty is wearing off.
We went to 1 day childbirth class at our hospital today. It included a hospital tour too. It was LONG but had some good information. One of our friends is in town tonight so we're going to get Mexican food and probably go to bed early lol
Poor DD1....last week strep with scarlet fever...last night in the ED with progressive hives and facial/lip swelling. Could be the amoxicillin for the strep....virus....random something. Finally got to bed after 4am......Just had to call on-call doc because it's spreading again and she's miserable.....and it's a fight to get the steroids in because they are nasty...
Guess I won't be getting much rest this weekend...ZzzzZZz

Omg that sounds so miserable. Poor thing, I hope she feels better ASAP and you can get some rest!

tortor4 It was last August she potty trained so 2y 4-5mo ish. Even though she stopped going at night within the first two weeks I kept her in pull-ups at night just because I was worried but she never went. I know most say to expect up to 6 months after day training for night training to take place. She made it super easy on us so I'm sure this next one will not! We also did a sticker chart, m&m's for #1 and rolos for #2, and after so many days of no accidents and a full sticker chart she got to go pick out a toy. Rewards/incentives/bribery are always helpful =)
chknma No fun! Sending sleep wishes your way and hoping your dd feels better. How old is she? I would do a 24 h antihistamine like children's zyrtec if safe, they come chewable and my dd takes them no problem when needed. That will help suppress the hives and of course benadryl is always an option as well.
chknma I hope.ypur kiddo feels a little better today, that sounds rough on everyone.
I got up an hour before DD today to have some time to myself this morning. I love doing that but usually sleep wins. I just saw yesterday that Shutterfly is doing 50% off everything so I've been trying to finish up our 2016 family photo book so I can order that before the sale ends tonight.

Random question: I saw that a friend from school (who is from another country and doesn't really know American customs) spent over $300 on shower gifts for me! I don't know that there's anything I can do but I feel kind of bad... I have no idea if she has that kind of money to spend or thought it's what she's supposed to do! Would you guys do anything or just be super appreciative and thankful?

rosesquared Wow that was very generous! I always get supremely uncomfortable when someone spends a lot on me so I would just write a very kind thank you note and maybe offer to take them to lunch or something?
I'm no expert at this stuff so I'll be interested to see what the other ladies think as well.
