How old is LO? 1 month this week!
How's everything going? Really well. He's an eating machine. I think he's coming off a big growth spurt because his eating was around the clock and we're starting to get back to a normal schedule.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Does anybody have great success with gas drops? I've been using a home brewed chamomile tea recipe at the suggestion of an herbalist for his gas and we've cut down his screaming time from 5pm-12 in the evening to 7-10pm, but I didn't know if I could cut it down more with drops or if they aren't super effective.
GTKY: what tv show/book/etc are you really into right now? Or what was the last one, if you haven't figured out quite how to Netflix and clusterfeed yet? I'm trying to get back on to watching The Blacklist and I've been having fun watching documentaries. I watched the documentary 13th. Very interesting.
I need to start figuring out pumping when I go back to work and start building my stash. I still have another 6 weeks but it's gonna creep up fast.
What positions/props are working for you? What are you struggling with?
Cross cradle is our go to now that my supply is somewhat regulating.

We watch the Chicago series of shows (fire, med, justice, and PD)
littleredfish our pediatrician said to feed, then gas drops, then burp. He said gas drops only really help the upper gas, not lower abdomen gas that's present. So if they work(and they can be spotty) it might take a while to seem like they are working since the lower gas still has to pass.
How's everything going? Nursing is ok, she is having good diaper output and gaining but thrush is annoying af right now.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? See above. We can't kick the thrush. Well DD can't, I don't have any symptoms on my nips thank god, but I did just get over a vaginal yeast infection. But we've been doing the nystatin for 2 weeks now and no huge improvement to the thrush on her tongue. I just started religiously adding probiotic to my yogurt and applying motherlove thrush cream. I'm thinking of getting some GSE too jic. She nurses great sometimes and other times pulls off, makes clicking noises and seems generally uncomfortable. Please give me all your advice on how to kick this!!!! What positions/props are working for you? Still using the breast friend pillow. What are you struggling with? THRUSH arghhhh.
GTKY: what tv show/book/etc are you really into right now? Or what was the last one, if you haven't figured out quite how to Netflix and clusterfeed yet? Finished westworld not long ago. We just binged Love on Netflix and patiently waiting for GoT, why July?!?!
What positions/props are working for you? Cross cradle What are you struggling with? He is angry at the boob a lot in the evenings and it's hard to make him happy when he wants to comfort sucked and milk keeps coming out.
GTKY: what tv show/book/etc are you really into right now? Or what was the last one, if you haven't figured out quite how to Netflix and clusterfeed yet? Just finished watching the beastmaster competition on netflix, and I just finished the trials of Apollo. I need new things.
How's everything going? We are still struggling with BFing but my supply has gotten a bit better and I'm regularly pumping 2oz sometimes 3oz every 2 hours. Baby has been latching and taking the breast once or twice a day for 5-10mins, so things have improved from last week.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? When is a safe time to introduce a pacifier? Is there a need to wait for a certain age?
What positions/props are working for you? Football hold has the most success for us.
What are you struggling with? Baby doesn't take the breast often enough so we are trying to increase his feeding at the breast . I hate this pumping every 2 hours. I've been stretching it to 3 hours sometimes to give my nipples a rest.
GTKY: what tv show/book/etc are you really into right now? Or what was the last one, if you haven't figured out quite how to Netflix and clusterfeed yet? Lately I've been netflixing Love and Orange is the new Black.

opheliainwaders it took me a few months to figure out side lying; it helped to have a bigger baby to finally get it.
vlagroupie glad you made a thrush thread! Hope you get it resolved soon!
mikaela20 there's lots of mixed feelings about pacifiers. If you find that a pacifier hides your baby's hunger cues or causes them to skip feedings (sometimes the case with small, extra sleepy newborns) then you shouldn't use one. Otherwise it's personal preference. There's not any general safe or unsafe age.
Any latching, including comfort suckling, is good for your supply and for baby's weight gain at this age. But some babies have a high need to suck and a pacifier can help in that situation.
