Causes of boob pain?

What are possible causes of boob pain? The whole underside of my boob hurts. It's not localized like a clogged duct and I have no idea what else it could be. It just feels almost bruised. I don't know. Help?

It could still be a blocked duct, just with radiating pain due to location.

It could also be bruising/breast trauma. Is R manhandling you during nursing sessions?

Thrush is more nipple pain than breast pain. And mastitis usually has other symptoms.

+1 a blocked duct can cause a whole area to be very painful like that. i would try treating it as a blocked duct and see if it improves (nursing a lot on that side, using hot compresses or taking hot baths, massaging it during nursing, drinking lots of water, taking lecithin supplements + advil).

@led if you have a wood comb I'd use that to try to massage the duct out in a hot bath or shower. From the outer boob towards the nipple. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, but it helped clear some clogs for me. Also, try nursing in different positions to see if that helps things. Hope it gets better soon.
