We found out this week that my 4 y/o is allergic to peanuts. Anybody else dealing with an allergy like this with their J15 or older kiddos? I would love to connect with others who are going through this.
Related question, did your pedi recommend delaying peanut introduction? Ours said no peanuts before 2, and I have to wonder if this has contributed to her allergy, in light of the more recent recommendations to expose earlier rather than later.
W isn't allergic to peanuts so I'm no help there. As far as when to introduce, because he had bad eczema, our pedi had us introduce peanuts and other high allergy foods (strawberries, etc) by 1 year.
V had eczema too, so that's great to hear W didn't have a problem with peanuts since that is a risk factor! See, I wish we had been advised the same, and can't help but wonder if that would have made a difference....

dc2london hi. I know this is a totally random BMB, but I seem to recall that you have some experience with the joys of peanut allergies. Any words of wisdom?

Owen has a dairy allergy, our allergist said to be aggressive with pb and make sure to offer it a few times a week. I think dairy, egg and peanut can sometimes occur together and that is why she suggested that.
I'm sorry that you are going through all the weird emotions that come with am allergy

DS has a number of food allergies: peanut, dairy, egg, wheat, soy, corn, avocado, chickpea, and sesame. We found out at ten days old. I'm still nursing, so I'm on a similar dietary regiment. Would be happy to chat.
My 10 yo has pretty extensive food allergies. We have worked past most besides wheat/gluten.
Our allergist and ped encouraged early peanut exposure for my J15 babe because of our family allergy history. So far, so good - but DD1's issues really came to a head at age 5.
