I have a St Paddy's day party to attend this afternoon and the hostess said "please feel free to bring a festive appetizer or dessert". I'm so unmotivated to do anything clever or cute. Guess I'll be stopping at Publix to see if there are any discounted green cookies!
jnetx Hopefully the next house is it. Such a frustrating process.
italianmommy You could also make spinach artichoke dip. Always a hit with little effort involved. But cookies are always good too
I'm blaming my child's early (for us) wake ups on our blinds sales guy. He is so incredibly frustrating. We ordered 9 weeks ago and have only had half of them installed. We were told 6 weeks for the ones coming from China, but that's obviously out the window. And he never answers the phone. I have been calling from random numbers just so he'll answer my call.
Woke up around 5:30 to DS1 screaming for me in his room. He's not allowed to leave his room before we come get him so apparently screaming is the way now. He came to my bed and slept until 6:45 when DH started moving around.
DH is working today, the boys and I will head to target later to get a birthday gift for one of DS1's friends. Otherwise it's movies and games today.
I think one of my favorite parts of the week is Saturday mornings sipping my coffee watching ryan and nick play. He's such a good dad. It warms my heart.
DS has the snotty coughs again. I brought the kids trampoline up from the basement so they can get some energy out, because winter is never ending! Today DD has a birthday party. I was going to have my husband take her, but then I felt like that would be weird because I know most of the moms from kindermusik. This DD'S first party from preschool. They said no presents so I'm thinking I'll put $5 in the cards? Preschool etiquette is hard.

Wooooo Saturday! I really should go into work for a bit today, but don't want to. Maybe I'll bring Mac and he can colour or watch the ipad in my office for a bit while I do a few things.
We're having a girls night tonight and I'm sooooooo excited! Finally get to see some friends and drink wine we're having an 'M' themed night so I need to think of a food that's vegetarian friendly and starts with M to bring.
I also found out one of my besties is pregnant. Best news ever! I'm so excited for her. More babies to spoil! And at this time two weeks from now I'll be at a cottage show with my family. All around exciting times for me.

E has a cold. I blame one of the storytime kids. She had trouble sleeping again. I gave her Motrin and rocked her close to midnight and she was burning up. I couldn't find the thermometer so just gave her a full dose of Motrin. After rocking for an hour she slept until 7. She seems to be feeling better, but now I feel like death. I'm trying to bribe DH into letting me take a nap.

It's blowing my mind how much bigger DS2 is compared to DS1 at this age. At 3 weeks old, we're already about to start putting away his newborn clothes, whereas DS1 was in newborn for nearly 2 months!
This is us too. L is so crazy long, and H was an exceptionally tiny baby. I think L is going to be quite a bit taller than his brother too. But Henry is a bruiser for being so short, so I'm sure he'll hold his own. It's just so sad packing up the tiny stuff!

Thank God I get a girls night out tonight with one of my friends. Going out for drinks and then to see Jane Eyre at our playhouse in the park. It's been so long since I've been out alone I have no idea what to wear, lol. I'm excited though because this will help make up for the crappy end of my date night with DH last night. He was up sick last night but I have no sympathies. He just texted me that the person at the bank asked if he was okay because he looked gray. Wah! Don't care. Suck it up buttercup!
This week was so rough! We had a family who lost their house to a fire, the next day I had a student's dad die, then I had FOUR kids who were self-harming. Plus all the usual middle school drama. It was a very draining week. Oh, and my lawyer asked for more money. $5000 this time, instead of the usual 6. So. Yea. This weekend DS has swimming lessons and his basketball banquet (really just pizza lol). Then we'll probably put up all of our target Easter stuff lol
Molly's been walking around asking for pizza since she woke up. She hasn't eaten basically anything in a week. So I guess we are having pizza for lunch.

I took a shower while H and W were in the basement. When I was getting dressed I heard a racket. Turns out, W fell down 4-5 (H didn't see it) steps and landed on the concrete basement floor. He's got a goose egg by his eye but otherwise seems fine. We'll be watching him super closely today. He's been doing stairs great for months so I'm not sure what went wrong today.
If you are FB friends with me, then you already know. My chicken baby finally weighs 20lbs. 20lbs, 7oz to be exact! I'm so relieved to be done with weignt checks. I'm like hello doc all the women in her family are some level of overweight. Let the kid be skinny as long as she can!
jnetx, That's ridiculous that they didn't figure all of that out beforehand! Also, their realtor should have gone over that, too. And to let it go that far? That's mind-boggling. I'm jealous you have so many options, though!!
Not enough coffee around for today. Kolby was up from 2:30-3:45 am. After a hour of trying to get him back to sleep in our bed, we put him back in his crib. After 5 minutes of screaming he tried to crawl out. Time to switch to toddler bed?
We are headed to my mom's for the weekend. I'm going to drastically change my hair so we will see what my sis has up her sleeve. Oh and I get to see my niece who just started crawling!
I'm getting a few assignments done (which are already late) and then I need to get the house together for people to come over tonight. H loves having people over. I don't mind it, especially since I can just put the girls to bed and continue to hang out without worrying about them. I'm just so darn tired though. H wants to make bangers and mash with a Guinness gravy. He made them before and it was quite good, but I'm not sure if that's what I want to eat right now.
The bad part of having people come over is getting our house clean enough. I feel like all my neighbors SAH plus have cleaners that come 1x a week. I don't clean much more than the biweekly cleanings we get and there is constantly stuff everywhere (read:toys, crafts, etc). Oh well.

If he's having sleep issues already and has not successfully climbed out of his crib yet, I would avoid switching at all costs. Once you lose the containment of the crib, other challenges will come up that will make getting him to sleep much more difficult.
That's what I'm afraid of too but he successfully climbed out at nap time yesterday and I don't want him attempting it while tired. Especially since his room is hard wood and it wouldn't be a soft landing.

That's because we have low expectations. 3 bedrooms, in the area we want to be and relatively clean and funtioning is our criteria. We're doing our best not to be picky about cosmetic things even if we don't think we will have the budget to fix them any time soon. We're always reminding each other this is a 5 year house.
I wish there were people looking at my area like that! We did just accept an offer, though, thankfully.
We're looking for a 4 bedroom, and there are only 3 bedrooms listed right now. We're also looking for our forever home, but we would prefer for it to need lots of work!

Yay, @wafflesfriendswork!!
@justinslovo I hate days where all of my good intentions are just crapped on, repeatedly, by life. You have earned a tiny bit of day drinking, maybe some crying, and a do-over soon. Sorry, hon.

And now I'm puking and have a fever. Please kindly go away before tomorrow. My mom and I are supposed to be meeting to go to a children's museum that recently moved and got completely renovated.
ETA: the puking is likely pregnancy related and it's a low grade fever. I'm not planning on knowingly infecting a children's museum.

H had his Lasik today. Appointment at 2. Should take 2-3 hours. At 430 they said 45 min so his ride should come, so we did. It's now 6 and they haven't even started his procedure yet.
Thankfully there's a mall close by. But I'm running out of ways to entertain a toddler. Toy store will be next I guess.
@wafflesfriendswork , that's awesome! wells2010 , how's your ear?
Still hurts. I'm ignoring it today since I have too much other stuff going on. I think I'll have someone look at it tomorrow at work.
Ugh that's so annoying. Last winter I was so sure I had an ear infection but it was just a really bad sinus infection. If it really hurts try wadding up some cotton and placing in gently in the ear. Sometimes the pain comes from fluid putting pressure on the ear drum so if you put pressure in from the outside then you're equalizing it.
I am super mad at my ILs. The big kids had a sleepover there last night and today were supposed to meet us for lunch to bring them home. My MIL called because she said there was a problem and she's not sure what happened but DD may have locked a door accidentally and they somehow got locked out. Then once they got back in they showed DD how the door locked and asked her if it was her. So when I was putting her to bed she was upset saying it was her fault everyone got locked out. Wtf she's 6 years old and has anxiety. And this is not her house. It is incredibly unfair to put that blame or responsibility on her. I'm so upset that they would do that. They are the worst at never taking responsibility for things and deflecting them on others but this is extra shitty of them.
