My almost 3 yo loves a lot of Disney movies and is not afraid while watching them. But he'll have bad dreams and we aren't sure if it's from them or not. He also doesn't do well in the theater. He's a mover and a shaker.
So for those of you with kids in the 2-3 year old range thoughts on taking them to see beauty and the beast? I think it's probably too scary but thought I'd poll the group....
There are some pretty intense scenes. The beast himself I think would be pretty scary at first. The wolves and especially the storming the castle fight at the end are pretty intense. It's a pretty long movie - 2 hours - and my almost 8 year old got kind of bored and restless after a while. I can't really imagine a toddler or pre-school age kid sitting through it.

Thanks for the feedback ladies. Y'all are basically saying what I was already thinking. I'll have to go see it without her. She does get scared pretty easily and I don't know if she could make it through the whole thing anyways.
The church does free date night. Normally we go out on our own. Tonight we did the group date and it involved going to the grocery with a list, buying groceries, cooking our food and cleaning it up. Never again! I was upset. What a letdown. I wanted an actual night out. Not my every day life.

It's so hard to tell with them too. DD1 was scared of scenes in Finding Dory that I thought weren't scary, but the end of The Little Mermaid where the huge Ursula gets speared by a ship doesn't phase her at all.

N was scared watching Moana the other night, so much that we us to stop the movie about a half hour in. He loves Frozen, Planes, and Cars though. I asked him if he wanted to see Beauty and the Beast, and he said no. We've also never taken him to the movies because he cannot sit still. The loud audio also makes me nervous as he hates loud noises.
N is up but the rest of us are still in bed. I'm feeling a little better than yesterday but still not 100%. I was laying here thinking about the difference between when MH was sick and I was sick. I took a day off from work to keep the kids occupied so he could rest. Then I took the kids to day care the next day so he could have another day to rest. I get sick Friday night, and I still end up nursing G to sleep after puking. Yesterday I spent most of the day holding, playing, and napping with G, as well as cuddling with N at times. I wasn't as sick as MH, but still. A little break may have been nice. Okay, done venting.

I haven't seen it yet, but moms on a local FB group said it was scary for 6-7 year olds.
Everyone was exhausted when we got home. DH went to nap and slept all afternoon. DD fell asleep at 6, got DS down at 7 so I went to bed and told DH he was in charge or DS. Left some milk in the fridge. DS wakes up at 745, DH goes to change his diaper in the kids room where DD is sleeping. DS is losing his shit by the point. Wakes up DD. She come crawling in with me and is all grumpy. I proceed to listen to DH try and calm DS down for another 45 minutes with no luck. I go down and feed him come back to bed, DS is still losing his shit. So I just grab him for cuddles and he's happy as a clam. The kid is SO attached to me. We didn't all get to sleep until past 1030. Even when DH tries to help and give me a break the kids wont let it happen... (there's my vent).
Grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning are the only things on the agenda today.
We started sleep training DS Friday night. We were going to do it a couple of weeks ago, but he STTN two nights in a row before we even started and then he got sick and has had a cold and cough, so we didn't push it. He'd wake up and we'd go in and give him his binky. His cold is just about gone, so we're back to sleep training. Really we're just doing CIO because he gets so pissed off if you go in there. Friday night/Saturday morning he woke up at his habitual 3am, so we let him cry. He yelled for a half an hour and then went back to sleep. This morning, he again woke up at 3am and this time he only yelled for about 5 minutes. I hope that means he's close to not waking up and yelling at all at 3am.
My kids desperately need new sneakers, so I'm planning to take them shoe shopping today.

Got here safe. Faked out my parents by pretending we broke down 30 minutes outside of the city just as we were pulling up to the house. My folks were upset but too happy to see the baby to be mad for long.
@kitchen try to get him to suck while taking off and landing, nursing, binky, whatever to help the pressure in his ears adjust. White noise app on your phone? Baby Carrier or wrap? Blanket?
I think it's hilarious I came into the "spring break" weekend post to post how boring this weekend is. My how times have changed. No plans again today. I'm going to make a boiled ham dinner. All the talk of boiled dinners for St Patrick's day got me wanting one. Dd2 has hit the stage where she pops off nursing 28374o49 times to look at me and smile. Very cute. Slightly annoying.

Someone who is not a mom and doesn't have kids. I was so upset.
Plane travel alone with a baby... remind me about the things I'm forgetting? I have an extra shirt for myself and extra clothes for him. What else?
Is he distracted nursing or no? My DS2 has been hungry and fussing but not wanting to stay on and get a full feed if we're somewhere new. So I was thinking a pump and bottle or a bottle of milk if he's taking them. He will tend to take a bottle because he can look around. A teething toy. Dress the baby in layers for different temps. You can check the car seat and stroller at the gate for free and most airlines let you take a diaper bag free as well so you can still have a personal item.

This happens to us nursing now too. I have a strong letdown so both of us are getting sprayed with milk frequently since I never remember to pack burp cloths anymore.

My 6 year old told me certain parts were scary and for reference he has seen all the Jurassic Park movies. I don't think he got scared but recognized that there were scary parts to him. I skipped bringing DS2 who is almost 3 to see it.

That's awesome and totally something my husband would do. He's going to give his mom a heart attack some day.

NIP is becoming more challenging. TL has also taken to biting. My other kids never did that. Not cool.

I'm such a third time mom. Never remember burp rags or DIAPERS! Seriously, how can I leave the house without a single diaper? While I am thinking of it, I should stash a couple disposables in the van for emergencies.

I always say I'm going to pack a nice bag with diapers, extra clothes for everybody, snacks and bottled water. Ha, that's never happened. ETA: to leave in my van.

I have the opposite problem. I'm a habitual overpacker.
Poor DD has come down with a doozy of a cold, complete with a 102* temp. It's luckily staying in check with Tylenol, but she is just so snotty. Poor kiddo.
