Super early day today, I had to set an alarm to make an 8 am pedi appt for the baby. The doc we saw didn't think she has thrush wtf?!?! She still has the same white on her tongue but said it wasn't anywhere else so didn't think it was thrush. I just don't believe that. becole this is the same looking white on her tongue from wine night and you thought immediately that it was thrush. Anyway she gave her diflucan to put on the tongue and I'm hoping that clears it up. I just don't think the way baby is nursing-short sessions, pulling off, clicking and some nipple compression, is normal. I also made an appt with their LC for Wednesday and scheduled with Ashley at BC too but she is way booked up and can't see us right away. dogmama22 you worked with them at bc right? Do you think she'll be a good resource for me? I'm tempted to go to bf support group again on Tuesday but not sure what she can do in group setting.
vlagroupie she's my favorite of the few that I've worked with. I'm sure she could at least point you in the right direction at BF support group. I would stop by if you can. I know becole had a good experience with Jamie Diver at Roots Wellness and maybe she could get you in sooner.

Yeah I'll send you Jamie's number- she's close to you up in Deerfield. She helped with the bottle. My only thing is that she's not that experienced. So she has a lot of training but not the same as seeing 500 babies with thrush over 30 years. I have another lady I have seen before, Bethany. She's old school and I think she sees people at Hyde Park.
I'm going to be wiped out by tonight. I've been cleaning and am getting ready to refinish the chalkboard on DD's easel. H is in project mode with finishing the baseboards and quarterround in all the bedrooms. Hoping we can have DD set up in her new room tomorrow.
What else did the doctor think it was vlagroupie? It's got to be something!
She thought it was just milk. I'm guessing bc she didn't see any white patches on any other part of her mouth except for the tongue. She scraped a little off her tongue, but it's got that cottage cheese appearance, and how do you explain the clicking noise etc. idk but I just got the diflucan for her so I'm hoping I see an improvement.
Went to the outlet mall to get the big shoes. Afterward we went to get a pretzel and while we were eating it in the store a family came in with a grandpa driving a motorized scooter. As they were leaving the old guy starts circling around to head to the door. He starts to slow down, realizing he doesn't have enough room, but then has a senior moment and instead of hitting the brake he hits the gas and at full speed t-bones the stroller with DS1 in it. He hit us so hard a piece broke off his scooter. While I'm trying to untangle the stroller from the scooter, he proceeds to have two more senior moments and kept crashing into us. I assume he was trying to reverse? I then push the scooter a bit with the stroller to aim him away from us thinking it will help, but alas he has another senior moment and hits the gas driving straight into the glass window. He and his family, who came running back in from holding the door open, were pretty mortified. I felt so bad for him. Everyone in the store was more concerned about us than the poor old guy. He sat outside in the cold while his family fixed the scooter. 😔
DS1 never paused from eating his pretzel. Totally unfazed. 😂

This is almost as good as our night.
So normally church date night is that we meet at church, they watch the kids for free and we can go and do whatever we want for a few hours. Well the minister emailed this week saying she would set up dinner reservations for a group if anyone wanted to be surprised. So we signed up for the group date. She has each couple draw from a bowl and it winds up being a split up grocery list- and sends us to Kroger to go get food. We are all grumbling in the car like wth why would we want to go to Kroger on our child free night. Then we have to cook it ourselves! Grilled cheese (fancy) with tomato soup and ice cream sundae bar. She had set up a table with tablecloth for us at church but because it's church we can't bring alcohol. Then there's an envelope for conversation like "what's your fave food?" That we completely ignored. All we had to make the sandwiches was one griddle- not even a kitchen. Then we open the final envelope and it's a check list for cleaning up our own dishes and the skillet and putting everything away! So we bought food at Kroger, cooked it, and cleaned it up. I almost cried on the way to Kroger. The minister that set it up doesn't have kids. We should have immediately just said- this isn't what we want to do and just went ourselves. It was a very good example of someone not knowing their audience. She must have googled date night ideas but forgot that the last thing a tired mother (everyone present) wanted to do was cook and clean up. I was so pissed. I was trying not to show it But how can you not? She never should have said she would make dinner reservations if it was going to be something completely different. No one in the group was happy including the guys. That was my only way of gaging my own emotions because I know I can get upset about little things. It was such a flop. We won't be signing up for any more of the surprises. We'll just plan our own.

Gs tongue doesn't look like what hers looked like. There's nothing to scrape off his tongue. It's pink and wet with a little bit of milk towards the back- none on the tip.

becole omg I would have been just an livid. Parents live for date nights!! Care free fun date nights where you can be husband and wife. Sorry you were robbed of your couple time
What a chain of events bazingaa. Poor guy. I'm sure he was so embarrassed.
becole that is awful. I mean, that's a cute little idea for nights that you can't get out of the house and want some quality couple time after the kids go to bed. Not so much for the infrequent, kids are gone, real date night. I probably would have cried.
Thanks you guys. I felt pretty guilty feeling so pissed and almost crying on the way to Kroger. Because they do watch the kids for free and it is church and someone put thought into that idea. But on the other hand, I have no idea how she thought it was something anyone would have appreciated. I can't think of anyone who would have been excited by that idea. And none of us really said anything to her so she may not even know how big of a flop it was. Oh well. I'm lucky we had food and someone else was watching the toddler. We still made the most of it. But you all have validated my feelings. So I don't feel as crazy pants.

I can see the benefit if someone was trying to branch out and meet new people. Maybe someone can mention that it would be better suited for a singles gathering than parents night out.

Guise, I've been waiting 3 years for a day like today. He's bee. Singing and dancing for 15 min while he washes the wall. He thinks it's the greatest thing ever.
Finally went to get my hair dyed today, it's been like 6mos. Was there for 3hrs for a root touch up. The color is close, but not quite. It looks like a cheap dye job. The stylist even offered to fix it right there, no thanks don't have another 3hrs of my life to waste. She gave me a discount. Got home and upon further inspection it became clear she used semi permanent dye. My white hairs are only lightly colored and still obviously not dark brown. For starters, semi perm color is not for grays. More so why the eff would I need to clarify the need for permanent color considering (1) I'm there for a root touch up and (2) I'm talking about the color currently in the rest of my hair that is 6mos old?
I basically had a very expense hair cut today. And H gave me shit for being gone so long when I got home. It did not end well for him. He's in the guest room. 😒

Sorry bazingaa. I hadn't dared let anyone color my hair since I moved here until I found my friend who's a cosmetologist. It can go so wrong. If you want a rec. for someone new, I totally rec. her. I can pass along her info.
bazingaa I would take a picture and call the owner and reschedule to have it fixed for free. And note that time is of the essence- you want just the dye and wash- don't even waste time having them style it.
bazingaa that sucks! Can you ask for a refund and have someone fix it? I really hope this wasn't my friend I referred you to...
No, that's the crappiest part of all. I was too impatient to wait so I made an appointment at that place, but not with your stylist. I mean, what was I thinking? The stylist is the only thing that matters. Yours had like a two week + wait and I was wanting to schedule with two days notice. Lesson learned lol.
