I was sad on Saturday's wedding, I requested "Danza Kuduro" and they played it when most of the dancing folk were gone. I made H go with me and we were almost the only 2 dancing to it, I felt obligated since I asked them to play it 😂

I turned into a real grownup this weekend too and finally bought foundation. I'd been using tinted moisturizer because I didn't think I'd be able to learn how to apply foundation right and pick one that doesn't make me look like a cakey ghost. Like Bette Davis in "What Happened to Baby Jane?" was my vision lol.

Alas, Youtube is my friend and it looks ok! No more red blotchiness!

ohinvrtedworld, I've reverted back to the world of bb creams after too many foundation attempts gone wrong. I should probably grow up but I'm so lazy and cheap...
@led, I hope your headache goes away soon!

AFM: This weekend was a little rough. It appears that my insomnia is back with a vengeance. I was up around 3:30 on Saturday night, and couldn't fall asleep last night. It's not doing anything to improve my mood or the general sense of 'feeling off' that I've had for the last week or so. To add insult to injury, my stomach's been grumpy and I've been unable to finish my coffee the last few days.

I bought a $5 foundation so it wasn't the biggest investment ever haha. BB creams are pretty great though! I was using the Garnier one but since it ran out, I wondered if something with slightly more coverage would look better.

I'm still not a real grownup and still use the same powder foundation that I started using when I was a teenager. It's so easy to put on and provides more coverage than just powder but not too much that it looks cakey. Maybe someday I'll buy real foundation....

Hey, if it ain't broke! I didn't even want to try the nice ones at Sephora because if I found out that they made me look like a unicorn mermaid goddess but cost a lot of money, I'd always know the truth that my cheap fixes could be better haha. Sometimes it's better not to know and stick with what makes you happy.

So we had an ok morning in our household....better than I thought it would go based on yesterday but not like it had been going before increased visits.....it's on days like this that the people who made these decisions need to be in my shoes.

But H and I have hair cuts tonight and we get wine so that is great. And H and I were able to spend time with friends this weekend and got to kind of enjoy some kid free time while the kids were on visits. I mean the after visit fallout sucked but got to recharge the batteries a little which helps.

I'm hoping for a pretty chill day. We skipped date night last night, but H finally cleaned the bathroom! Totally better than going on a date. Plus I think we'll do date night soon anyways.

I've been looking at houses to rent and it's just making me not want to move. Rent is so expensive around here! Right now we only pay about 20% of our income in rent, so we have a bit of wiggle room since everything says 1/3 is normal, but I like having that money to be able to save up. Plus we just signed a one year lease, so we probably won't be moving anytime soon.

Haha I totally understand this! I love wondering what my younger self would've thought if I knew I'd one day absolutely trade a chore for a fancy dinner and whatnot.

H agreed to do the dishes since I cleaned everything else, and they are still not all done. 🙄 It's driving me nuts. I feel like he breaks me down with how long he will wait to do something, where I can't take it anymore and do it myself in a fit of rage. You are 30!!!

Oh the bathroom was absolutely disgusting by the time he got to it. We had a deal the day we moved in together 9 years ago. I do the dishes and he cleans the bathroom. That means I never clean the bathroom. I've been nagging him to clean it SINCE RIDLEY WAS BORN! She's 10 months old. Disgusting. I was so embarrassed anytime someone would ask to use our bathroom, but I wasn't budging. I kept the toilet seat clean because I had to use it, but that was it. So gross.

I'm so excited for dinner -- I have chicken tinga going in the crockpot for tacos later, and there should be enough to make freezer quesadillas for lunches (my friend's idea that she does!). We need to figure out good to-go lunches to stop spending so much money on eating yucky food court food.

It was exhausting nagging him for that long, but I was not giving in because I know if I gave in once he would just stop doing it knowing I would eventually. I refuse. Even if it means living in filth for a year.

ohinvrtedworld, your chicken sounds delicious! I understand the appeal of the food court lunch, but it sure does add up quickly. DH and I usually take leftovers from the night before for lunch, but on the rare occasions that we don't, I'm usually shocked that a salad costs like $10.

Yes! It's a rip off. And all the Taco Bell and Chinese food also makes me feel disgusting afterward.

I have the Maybelline Fit Me in the Matte formula and I love it!

ohinvrtedworld, ****** Buy a Beauty Blender and it will make any drug store foundation look like the expensive stuff! It's an egg shaped sponge that you wet and kind of bump your makeup into your skin. It's $20 but it lasts a long time if you take care of it. You'll never have cake face again with this thing. Totally worth the money, IMO.

Being an adult can be fun sometimes. H and I finally bought a new vacuum cleaner the other day. It's the first time in the 11 1/2 years we've been together that we bought a new vacuum cleaner lol, and I got super excited.
I ended up sleeping in until noon today. It felt kinda good, but kinda sucky because I have to get up super early tomorrow for work again. At least I've stopped snotting everywhere for the moment, so hopefully what little sleep I can get will be decent...

I randomly decided today to make some bone broth, so when I went out to get guinea pig food I picked up a beef shank and threw it in my rice cooker, because I don't have a slow cooker. When I can smell (right after I blow my nose) it smells pretty darn good! It'll still have to cook for another gazillion hours, but ah well. I'll look forward to it when it's done =)

I did the rest of the weekend house cleaning this morning so the house would be spotless when we left for our play date. It went great and the kids are passed out in bed. Now H and I are watching Big Bang Theory.

I love the Maybelline Fit Me too and I second the beauty blender suggestion! Those are the best. And Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer is the very best drug store kind.
