So, we had an amazing night. DD slept 8pm-4:30am, the longest she's ever done by far. Then, everything went to shit...
1) Realize DD peed all over her crib and I'm covered in BM from going so long between feeds...no problem...put sheets in wash and put baby in the bassinet in our room 2) Hear waterfall of spit up (I feel like puke would be the more appropriate term here). Turn on light, find spit up all over the bassinet, the sides, the walls, etc. Sit baby up, begin to change her...you guess it, more puke. 3) Move baby to our bed after cleaning bassinet and projectile spit up all over me and the bed.
So, yeah, we've been up since 4:30. Sitting on the couch now. I was supposed to walk the mall for some exercise, but I'm not sure now. So much laundry!
The last 2 mornings E slept from her past feeding at 2 until about 9:30. This morning she was up at 6. I put her back to sleep and I'm hoping I can get another hour or two of some sleep.
Here everyone is finally adjusted to UK time - H was first to adapt and has done great. Although he's walking every 3 hours at night to feed he's straight back down after. We've been having a good visit with the ILs since we arrived (DS1 being spilt rotten) and had a day trip to France yesterday. The weather is typical for March (wet and windy) but we had a lovely lunch in our favorite seaside town and had fun flying the kite on the beach. Tomorrow starts our travelling up north to see my family and a 2 day visit to Scotland to see more family and friends. Lots of time on the road but I can't wait to see people and places.
Oh no weeklyplanner. I hope there's no more puke in your future.
Snuck in a short walk this morning but it's drizzling. If it clears up I'll take Indy for a second longer walk in the afternoon. Mh is suppose to take ds to get his haircut. Hopefully ds cooperates because he is so shaggy and needs a real cut. I've trimmed it up a couple of times but now it's getting all the same length and it's beyond my skill level.
Woah weeklyplanner that's good sleep but maybe not if the aftermath is puke, I'm sorry. @peaseblossom I hope you are peacefully asleep right now! bazinga how long are you home for? I missed that yh was also from the U.K. , did you meet here or there? What brought you to the states? carrots that sounds like a busy but good day, have fun with your coworkers. lakegirl I'm so jealous of your husband time! Soak up every minute and take all the walks!
My kids slept in until 9:30 today so I was able to dtd with mh when he got home from work. This time having a baby is so different, I was still in the don't touch me stage st this point with dd. Now I'm drinking my slightly warm only reheated once coffee while R chats in the rock and play and dd watches frozen. We try not to do morning tv but she was kind of in a funk this morning and got so excited when she saw the frozen case. Absolutely no plans today which I love. I might try to get my room and bathroom cleaned today.

Wow, that's what's quite the eventful morning weeklyplanner. Hope you can get a nap in at some point. Also hope the rest of your day is vomit free.
Uneventful day so far. Took DS to daycare, stopped by the store for dinner ingredients, and put away a mountain of clean clothes. Baby has been napping since 9. I'm about to eat lunch and watch tv.

E slept until 10 so I got a little extra rest. Spoke with my boss this morning too I go back to work 4/5. It's supposed to be the day before but I'll feel better if the day I go back is a day with my mil watching her. I just feel sick to my stomach and hate my job so so much. I don't want to go back.

I remember that feeling, and I liked my job and the people I worked with. It did get better after a while, it helped I worked part time and mh had dd while I was at work. I did ultimately decide to stay home after about 4 months because it made more sense for our family. Mh was exhausted, keeping her when he should have been sleeping and it worked out that if he picked up one shift a pay period he pretty much covered my paycheck. All that said, going back wasn't as hard as I expected and some days I actually miss it.
ETA I'm sorry you are feeling that way and I hope it isn't as bad as you are expecting it to be.
Yes meeggaannww, we're both brits! We met at university in Scotland before moving to south of England (where he's from) for work. The American company I work for closed our uk-based group in 2010 and offered me a job in SoCal with full relocation package. We'd just bought our dream house so it was a really tough decision but everyone told us we'd be crazy not to accept the offer and set out on an adventure. So, we committed to the required 2yrs and 6.5yrs later have no plans for a permanent return to the UK

I figure it will be bad. I don't really have any friends or anyone to talk to at work. I work mostly with guys so the talk is pretty superficial. My job changed quite a bit last summer and isn't what I was hired for so I absolutely hate it. My boss is a nice guy but not experienced enough to be a good manager. Just talking to him this morning reminded me of all of this.
Anyone else noticed an increase in spit up during leap 2?
oh god no. Please no more spit up. This caboose enters leap 2 in two days.
Also looking back, 2 months/leap 2 is right around when ds started having his weight gain issues. Hmmmm.
Yeah, just looking back to leap 1--that's when DD was spitting up a ton. Then, just recently I was all "Oh good, she won't need a bib everyday for 1.5 years like DS because it seems to have stopped." Now, it's back like crazy!

This morning I was dreaming of the day when I won't have to hold dd upright forever after a feeding. Sighs.
I've been sorta MIA. B is a crappy sleeper and it makes me feel even worse about our situation when I'm reading about all the long stretches y'all are getting. By this age, DD was consistently doing 6-7 hr first stretches and was down to 1-2 wake ups/feedings.
B just has such a hard time getting into a deep sleep. He also can't be consistently nursed or rocked to sleep. Sometimes he'll wake up after 40 minutes when I put him down to bed and no amount of jiggling/rocking/paci plugging will affect him, but I'll put him on my bed to change his diaper and he'll pass back out. It's so weird. Sometimes I'll lean over his bassinet and he'll look at me and then go back to sleep. Can babies even do "drowsy but awake" at this age?
B is mid-leap now according to the app, but he hasn't ever really been good even during non-leap periods.
I'm just frustrated because I feel like I'm bringing my A game with the bedtime routine and daytime naps. Ugh. I'm sorry if I'm a broken record, but i feel like it's all I can think/talk about.

Don't beat yourself up. My DS was such a hard baby (hell, he's a hard toddler) and nothing I did worked at times. I remember being in his BMB and reading about babies being sleepy, etc. and all he took was 3 20 min catnaps the first year of his life. It's not your fault!
Is it possible he wants some space to put himself to sleep? I wouldn't let him cio or anything like that at this age, but maybe 2-3 min of fussing/grunting and then you stand over him and rub his belly, repeat? Maybe he doesn't want to be rocked?
Hang in there!
Oh and DD just gave us her first long stretch recently. It literally happened overnight. But after that initial stretch of 7:30pm-1am, she's up every 2 hours until 9am.

weeklyplanner, A has been a pretty spitty baby for the past 4 or so weeks. I feel ya on that. I'm always covered in babybarf. Today she was EXTRA spitty. To the point where I had to giver her a bath because I was so grossed out. We typically only do a bath like once every 5 days.
I get up with my H in the morning to help get him and DD1 out the door. I'm in my 10th week of maternity leave and there have only been two days where I was able to go back to bed after they've left! I'm failing at napping.
I keep forgetting to look at my wonder weeks app...
ellabee, I don't know about "drowsy but awake" right now. we have a fussy period in the evenings, and when she finally starts to calm a little, I nurse her one last time and put her in her crib. She's drowsy but awake at that point... but it'd be more honest to say "drowsy but ignored"... because at that point, I'm so tired and frustrated that I let a lot of the fussing go, and only pick her back up if she really winds up. I'm sorry you're having a tough time. How is your toddler? I'm struggling right now more with my toddler than with A.
ellabee is he any better during the day? I'm having trouble getting dd to nap (just like ds). She goes from content to pissed in two seconds for no apparent reason.
I'm so freaking tired. And for no real reason. I may have H pick up some coffee on the way home just so I can get up the energy to clean. And thank goodness Tapa is finally working for me again!

N is refusing to go down for her afternoon nap. We had PPD group and she snoozed there a little but she still usually takes her nap.
Also last night I totally let her grunt and fuss herself to sleep. I had already rocked her down twice with white noise and it was late. My give a shit was broken. It worked though.
Potty training is not going so great. We stopped overhydrating him like the book suggested and it seems like he knows how to hold it, but he hasn't made the connection to the sensation of peeing? I don't know how to teach that!

lakegirl dang it, I may be sold with that canopy! I really liked all the other features but was unsure about the canopy but that looks like it covers pretty good.
meeggaannw, you go girl! I'm debating dtd with mh but still a little nervous. We need to use condoms til I get an iud placed and lets say we're not so reliable with condoms 🙄
peaseblossom55, I'm so sorry you hate your job so much I hope it's not as bad as you believe it will be.
ellabee, I'm so sorry he's such a difficult sleeper. I have no suggestions, only hugs and I hope it gets better soon.
