I do things backwards, it's how I roll...
Figured as some of you answered my question you might like to know who I am, so, here goes --
After mutually deciding to go off NuvaRing in July, my husband's 30th birthday gift (in August) was to officially TTC. I had been on BC for a while (as in since I was 17, so about 13 years with a break, see next part) and was diagnosed with Hashimotos hypothyroidism just before I turned 21. I went off BC when I went abroad for my junior year in college because I was newly single and wanted to give my body a break. I never got my period back in 6 months. That is when I was diagnosed with Hashis; I was immediately put on a low dose of levothyroxine and told to go back on BC. After a lot of tweaking later and finding a doctor who actually listens to me about my symptoms I now take 100 mcg of synthroid and 3 grains of Naturthyroid. Luckily, this seems to be the right dose as my period came back within a month of going off the ring, and while not "like clockwork," regular enough.
Until December, we decided to just "pull the goalie" (my husband's term...ha, ha) and see what happened. Starting mid-December, I started temping and using OPKs and am now in the TWW of my second cycle with charting. I am starting to drive myself a little batty, however, with the phantom symptoms (and yes, I am well aware, consciously, that they don't mean anything until I get the BFP) and was searching around for resources to soothe my crazy mind. I came across your newbie blog and here I am. Thanks for being here.
I should also add, both my brother (his wife) and sister had issues conceiving and ended up going through multiple rounds of IVF. Hubby and I are prepared if we need to do that, but it is really scary having that precedent in the family...
In my "real" life, I live outside of Washington DC, I work at a think tank, and I watch a lot of bad tv. I also have a cat...
Hi!
(edit to fix blatant typo, sorry!)
