I'm nervous about today. I heard F babbling in his crib several times last night between 12 and 3, and he's already up at 7:30. And H went in to the office today, so he's not a text away like he normally is. I'm wondering how sleep deprived (aka angry, temper tantrum prone) F is going to be today. Eek!
D1 has been sleeping in AB's room while we get more permanent fixes for my mom in place. They both burst into my room at 6 am smiling from ear to ear. Hopefully this means AB's glum mood of the last two days has passed!
My FIL is arriving this afternoon because my ILs can't stand the idea that we need a backup sitter.

Noah didn't fall asleep until almost 11:00 last night. I have no clue what's up. The last week he has been pushing later bedtimes and it's exhausting me. Growth spurt maybe?

Last night I tried to start going through the 24month and 2t clothing for v. I have three totes. I only made it through one and three separate bags of random sizes. But in all that sorting I have a huge pile for goodwill.
I am dreading the next two totes and all this mess is in Vivian's room/the guest room. It has to be cleaned by Saturday.

Brrrr it's cold out today!
We are going to look at a condo tonight but the maintenance fees are ridiculous and it looks like it needs work. But of course it's still expensive because Toronto. I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to give up and resign myself to being a renter for the foreseeable future but then I worry that once E starts school we will be less stable and she might have to switch schools all of the time based on the whims of a landlord.
So I'm a bit depressed and drowning my sorrows in a bagel with peanut butter.
I made cookies last night because I had company, and now I am having cookies for breakfast. E had a scream fest last night between 4:00 and 4:40. I tried everything to calm her down (except nursing which is what she really wanted) until I gave up and left the room. She fell asleep within two minutes of course.
I'm sorry you live in such a rough housing market catladymeow. I have friends and family in Vancouver and they all rent and have similar worries.
I'm just waiting in my car at Starbucks. Peyton has 90 minutes of preschool and then I need to go back and pick her up for a field trip to the grocery store. H is working OT so I have Hailey with me too, which should be fun. I'm hoping she can be contained somehow. Arts and crafts also exploded all over my house, so I'm looking forward to cleaning that up when we get home!
I wish Hailey could sit through a movie because I'd take them to see Beauty and the Beast this afternoon.
Traffic was INSANE this morning. 2 accidents within 2 miles on the major highway, and other accidents along the back roads. My 20 minute commute turned into an hour. Now, in the DC area, if there's even a glimmer of rain or even an overcast day, this is fairly typical, but this morning is was bright and sunny! WTF idiot drivers?!
cornpop311 - It's not you, it's her. She sounds like the kind of person I'd run the other way from. I need a bigger dining room table but my dining room is on the small side. MH is mad because it's not that old but, seriously, the kids are getting bigger and it's tight. I think I'll just have to buy one when he's not paying attention.
I just bought a new kitchen table for the same reason. Our current table seats 4 but you can squeeze 6 with folding chairs but sam needs his own seat at some point. And it's not like the kids are getting smaller! It took me a bit but I finally convinced H we needed the 7 piece set.
I'm stuck under a sleeping baby and can't reach the remote and am watching an infomercial. Do you guys think my H would be pissed if I got a reverse mortgage for our house?
cornpop311 sounds like someone that would be really annoying to be friends with. Not you at all.
So we are going up to Maine for a wedding in September and are turning it into a full week trip to visit DH's buddy who lives up there. We were going to fly and rent a car but are now considering driving it.
I would like to work one fun thing on the way up there since we are going to have to break it into multiple days of driving. We did Hershey the last time we did the trip but I don't think that we will have enough time to spend there to make the detour worth it. Does anyone have an idea for a 1/2 day stop on the way from NC to Maine?

Does anyone watch 90 Day Fiance? My friend texted me last night that Jorge and Anfisa were sitting next to her at dinner and they drove off in a VW. I was simultaneously shocked that they are still together and tickled that he was driving a VW. Must be slow times in the weed industry.
(They always said on the show they lived in LA, but they don't. They live in my hood. One time on the show Jorge drove right by my old complex.)

cornpop311 it's her. As much as I want some moms on my street to be friends with me I've decided it's not going to happen. Friendly- yes, friends- no.
We toured our second day care today and put o on the waitlist for fall 2018! They say it's filling up but we should get a spot. I'm going to be emotional about this for the next 18 mo. Our nanny is amazing but now that both bigs are going to be in school daycare is SO much less expensive. But how in the world do I break up with nanny- which at that point will be 7 years. I'm already stressing about a comvo likely to happen in January!
@traceyos, that place looks amazing. Is there a lot for a 2 year old to do? We probably wouldn't do the water stuff bc #1 I don't need to be wearing a bathing suit and #2 my two gingers do not like sun/water activities.

I was always so confused by that because they would show the exterior of Park La Brea, but then whenever he was driving they'd be in like, Santa Ana or something. Anfisa and Jorge (I think his real name is Andrew) were the worst... and I wish there was a spin off show of just them.

YES! They would totally show Park La Brea and then he was driving down Jamboree. LOLOLOLOLOL
Depending on your summer plans you may want to wait for the 2018 passes. They go on sale August 1 and are good for the rest of the summer and all of next year. That is what we will do.
We are going to do them now so MIL can take him on the weeks school is closed. Sesame Place = a good substitute for daycare, right?
I'm glad you won't wait either. I want to wait because value, but don't want to because L loves Elmo so effing much, I want to bring her immediately.
Who has seen the new beauty and the beast? I'm thinking of taking DD to see it this weekend and trying to decide if I should take DS too. He typically does not do well with live action movies and has never seen a movie in the theater. But he does love the cartoon beauty and the beast. I think my mom and MIL might be interested in going so if he needed to leave we could take turns. Thoughts?

What about live action doesn't he like? My 4 year old was bored during the "falling in love" part (pretty much the entire middle) but really liked the ending, especially the fight scene.
It's a really good movie. I highly recommend it. My 7 year old (boy) loved it, too, as did my husband!
cornpop311, i'd put it in the fridge and bake tomorrow. i do jim lahey's no-knead bread recipe, and he recommends 12 hours minimum rising time at room temp, and up to 24 in the winter.
i found this advice online: For optimal flavor, "rise-ability", and overall quality, your average yeasted dough, even if refrigerated, should be baked within 24 hours and at the very maximum 48 hours. Dough fermented any longer than this is considered "old" dough, meaning that it still may have flavor but is likely to lack the ability to rise, therefore creating a tough, dense, undesirable texture.

He just gets bored I think. I mean he'll watch some parts of live action movies but he's never sat through one. Im leaning towards trying it out.
forevermorgan - I forgot all about Dutch Wonderland!! I'm so happy we moved back here. Lil is going to be so spoiled because I can't wait to take her everywhere. SP, DW, then Hershey and Dorney and Six Flags. Is it summer yet?

ashiscute, the experience of the theatre makes a big difference. My 4 year old won't sit through any movie at home!
@mamabear02, JBF is way better at sales. It's a lot more upfront work, but I find it worth it. I have some stuff in one starting tonight, actually! I usually equal or make more than I buy, and I typically buy a fair amount of my kids' wardrobes there.

I survived taking the kitten and both kids to the vet! Definitely don't plan on doing that again, between the baby being crazy, the cat being angry, and the big kid being upset over the cat getting needles it was a mess. And then I didn't realize it was cash only so I made H wake up his work partner from a nap to bring me cash since there was no way I was doing it.
Surviving is what matters though! And I can't be too upset because I got a huge pay today to make up for my misery the last few weeks. Probably one of the biggest cheques I've ever had. Hooray! Just in time for a trip south which is perfect. And after this week I'm going back to working minimal hours which I couldn't possibly be more excited about.
