Morning! I think it's supposed to rain or snow later today, boo! I am ready for it to get into the 50s/60s and stay there for a while. Not sure what we will do with our day today, nothing is planned. I think we might go to play group, but still tbd.
Hi all! C had swim class today so Lu went to child watch. C did good in class but omg the not listening is making me craaaaaazy. Also, I feel like I'm getting a cold. Grrrrr. Work tonight so the rest of the day we will lay low....

Morning!
Tried to go to Zumba this morning, but they had to come get me halfway through the class because X was freaking out. I hope he learns to like it soon.
I don't know what else we are doing today. Aldi. I'm trying to only buy what we need because our cabinets and freezers are so full and I feel like we waste too much food.
It's my last day of work this week so I'm busting my butt to finish up the most urgent tasks. A friend was supposed to come over Sunday to go see what of our no longer used baby stuff she might want, but she cancelled and is coming over tonight instead. I don't mind and I'm glad to have her over, but it means my night is now not only packed with the regular routine + packing/cleaning for our trip, but also laying out all the stuff for her to go through and playing hostess. Thank goodness for crock pot dinners! Now to just pray she doesn't go into labor at my house as she's due Monday. And that my insane 13 month old doesn't cause her to panic about what she's in for in the near future, lol.
Well it seems B is mostly over the sickness, and I'm finally feeling a bit better too. Hopefully we will be good to go by the end of the week. It's so nice out here right now.
This one nap thing is so much more exhausting, lol. Trying to entertain him for 5-6 hours at a time is like torture sometimes, at least right now while he's clingy.
Thanks piperhalliwell Have so much fun on your trip!! rivers and roads that is how C was with childwatch at the gym at this age. It was terrible. I tried it 3 times and really felt like I was traumatizing him so I stopped. I REALLY wish I had continued. He had no other experience with being dropped off somewhere (he wasn't in daycare) and I think it would have been good for him to get used to it. They told me if I was consistent (went 2-3 time a week) he would get there. Keep trying if you can! It will be worth it in the long run
H was nice enough to share his cold with the rest of us, so now I have 2 sick kids plus a sick husband plus a cold of my own. I'll give you all one guess who's being the most dramatic about his illness 😜
And, not to be a whiner, but in top of my cold, I started my first PP period and I forgot what a pain in the ass these things are.

Our extended forecast doesn't show anything higher than 40s for the next couple weeks. I'm ready for spring!

Sorry about the colds and your period. But look at the bright side, at least now you know you should be ovulating

This is our house, horribly. (Food) I always end up coming up with a menu and buying all the ingredients, but what I really need to do is create the menu around what we have so we can use it up. And we aren't good about using up leftovers and I make such big meals.

I always make it a point to do something at about 10am. Usually it's a walk, but running errands or going to the park when the weather gets better. It breaks up the morning and once you're done with that it's about time to start getting lunch ready.
I always say wed-nes-day in my head when I'm spelling it.
I just stopped home to eat a quick lunch and pack up my bag and then my coworker and I are hitting the road. We have about a 2.5-3 hour drive. We should be there by 5 and can get checked in and find somewhere to eat. Maybe a Target run tonight too? 🙋🏻

Daycare was closed today due to a family emergency. Luckily MIL was able to come over with no notice to watch DD today. I'm working from home so I was able to get lunch and bottles prepped as needed rather than leaving a list of instructions for MIL.
Daycare was closed last Friday, too, so the DCP could attend a funeral. I don't doubt the validity of her closures but stuff like this happens a lot and I'm wondering if we will want to move DD to a pre-school/ day care center sooner rather than later. But then again, if we have a second kid in the next year or so, it would be nice if new kid could take DD's spot with this DCP. I would much rather have a little baby with our DCP (who we love, even if her family has a lot of emergencies) than in a big center. Just thinking out loud here.

That's frustrating. I'm glad you have a back up plan and local MIL! A lot of families would just be out of luck with that situation.
Was it you who was part of a daycare network where you could send your kid to another place in events like this? I forget.
Enjoy your child-free time, chocolate! Should the conference be interesting at least?
Hmm, maybe. It has the potential to be good or the potential to be a bunch of too-basic stuff that I know, ya know? It's the state's early childhood spring conference and looks like other than keynote speakers it's a bunch of breakout sessions so I can at least pick and choose. There are some make and take sessions so those are always nice, as you know as a teacher any time to actually make something tangible to use is valuable.

Yes, we can use another provider in the network to sub. But, they need to have available space. And the other providers we like are all full now. And I also worry about messing with DD's schedule and stressing her out with a new place, new people, etc. for these one-off days. So it turns out this benefit isn't as great as I thought it was back before I knew anything about babies.
I mean, it is still a nice feature to have. I already know our DCP will be going to India for a few weeks in December, so we will plan ahead with a sub for then.

SS is driving me batty lately. For the past several months he sporadically complains that his "tummy hurts." At first it was always on taekwondo days, so I thought it was an excuse to get out of that, but now its random days and increasing in frequency. We've taken him to the doctor who said he appeared fine, but maybe give him some Miralax every now and then. We've picked him up early from school and done our best to believe him, but we always feel played because within a few hours he acts totally normal. He started complaining last night so I tried to get him to identify the type of pain and he said it didn't feel like he needed to throw up or use the bathroom, it just hurts. Daycare just called trying to get me to pick him up early. No. Unless he has a fever or threw up, he can sit or lay down there just as easily as he can at home. No advice needed, just venting because I'm really freaking over this and I can't trust my kid to tell the truth, plus a small side of mom guilt that says "omg, what if it is something serious that we aren't seeing?!?!?!"

piperhalliwell it's a really awful feeling. DD1 definitely uses bodily functions to manipulate but you need to give them the benefit of the doubt sometimes.
You've taken him to the doctor, do you feel like he took a good enough look into it? If so, then all you can do is keep an eye and see if anything changes/progresses.
Random thought: If it's fairly transient could it be gas? I know sometimes when I have gas and an empty stomach it seems to move into a spot by my ribs that causes me pain. I typically need to lie down to get some relief.
piperhalliwell I used to be like that when I was a kid, and it was due to extreme anxiety (that I still have). I was so anxious that my stomach was in knots so I wasn't lying when I said my stomach hurt, but doctors could find nothing wrong. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of your SS's issues, it could be actual physical tummy issues or it could be something more like what I had.

Anxiety was my first thought too. I hope you can figure it out soon piperhalliwell,
