I sat down at my desk and realized I forgot to wear shoes today. Definitely showed up in slippers and don't have time to go home to change them until lunch. I have a feeling it's going to be a looooooong day.

wineandcake - That is awesome! At least you will be comfortable? I forgot to bring my flats for the couple block walk from my garage to my building. I hate doing that walk in heels. I'd have much preferred slippers.
Surely today will be smooth.....it's been a very, very interesting week.
Have appointment this afternoon about my knee. Hoping to get an official diagnosis of my Dr. Google diagnosis and hopefully a magical shot that allows me to run my race this weekend.

A's school goes up to Pre-K and there's been some cases of lice reported in the older kids classrooms. However, most of them have siblings in the younger classes. I've been stressed out for weeks about it hitting the Toddlers, then, lo and behold the sign on A's classroom door this morning saying that a kid has lice. They sent us home with all of her extra clothes and sheet set. Good thing it's trash day. I know I'm a wasteful human being. I dont care. Not to be dramatic, but I'd rather jump off a building than have her come home with lice. I'll burn our house down. I'd rather have HFM again than lice. I told them to grease her up like a pig to help prevent them. Mites (and little bugs of the sort) are an insanely irrational fear of mine.
Last night was my 5th time doing bedtime alone with both kiddos. It was a complete shit show. So awful. My h came home in the middle of it (an hour after Henry is normally asleep) and was all "what the hell is going here?!?!" and I pretty much lit him on fire right then and there. L is normally so chill but just demands to be held from 6-8, which is when Henry really needs me. I have to work on getting him to nap during this time. Right now I'm only giving each kid half of the attention they need and no one is happy. Mainly me. To end this post on a positive, I found a werthers in my car this morning! It was unwrapped and of unknown origins, but I ate it and it was yummy.
@justinslovo, I have to go to Target today anyway so I'm going to check out what they have from that brand as well as what I orded. Who doesnt love instant gratification? Although, judging by the outbreak these past few months, they may be all out

I'm doing a significant change assessment on one of my patients right now. It has triggered literally every single rap except for feeding tubes. Now I have a million reports to do for this and I hate every second of it. Doing my job properly is the worst. I can't even copy over from last quarter because everything changed. I'm never going to get this done, worst.
I wish drinking at work wasn't frowned upon. I think this is one of those days that I could really use bailey's in a coffee.

Lice are the worst. When I worked in pre-school, I perfected my "you have lice, don't hug me" hug. I felt bad about bringing super sick DS to the family father's day lunch this weekend where he'd be with his younger cousins. However, after lunch, my SIL disappeared with my nephew. MIL then told me she was shampooing him up. "Why?" I asked "Oh, he has lice" she answered nonchalantly.
I'm the worst but I hope DS got the twins sick. LICE AIN'T NO LAUGHING MATTER, ILs. FATHERS DAY COULD'VE WAITED.
We're good, knock on wood. Here's hoping A's clear too!!!
On another note: OMIGOD LECREUSET SALE. I just blew half a month's pay (I work part time and live in a low salary country, so half a month's pay is easy to blow) but it's an INVESTMENT. I am so excited.
Ugh...I'd pay almost anything just to have a lazy day with no responsibilities today. I need to be doing lecture prep while Kolby is at daycare but I'm contemplating going back to bed.
EmMilAlly do you baby wear? It might save your sanity to at least have your hands free. Double bed time with a newborn = so stressful.
I've been wearing Louis in the k'tan during all this and it helps, but I still can't do everything I normally do with H. I think my k'tan is too big too, because my back is killing me and I'm always worried L is going to flop out. Maybe I need to invest in something better since I rely on it so much with two. Suggestions?

I got a Boba, but I think any stretchy wrap would do. I do really like the Boba.
I have a k'tan that's too big, too, so it's always sliding down and stressing me out. Worked great with Elena when she was slightly bigger, though.

Can you do lecture prep after Kolby goes down tonight?
Sometimes a rest is more important than lesson planning.
I'm wearing a new shirt today to try and put myself in a good mood.
But it doesn't fit well and is slightly wrinkly so instead it's putting me in a bad mood. Womp.
I think I'm going to take a mental health day tomorrow. I think I'm going to go to the movies. What else should I do?
I'm a big fan of having a nice relaxing lunch by myself at a nice restaurant, but I know some people aren't keen on eating alone. Enjoy your mental health day!

I used to hate eating alone at restaurants....then I had a kid and now eating alone is AMAZING. No one to steal my food or start whining or throw food etc etc!
The office phone wont stop fucking ringing and the two women that usually answer them are out today. I have an insane headache that's radiating into my jaw and neck and everything is making me want to Hulk out. I think I may need to take a half day
wineandcake I walk out of the house in my slippers all the time and have to go back in to change them!
rachydc Seriously one of my biggest bug fears! I totally would feel like I'd have to burn down the house. We have carpet, and couch covers,so many throw blankets. Definitely an anxiety point for me.
@justinslovo Oh no. I'm sorry for your family's loss.
wineandcake so funny about the slippers. I always run around in the mornings in my slippers and change before I walk out the door. I'm always afraid I'll forget to put on my work shoes.
@justinslovo So sorry about the loss. It might be worth trying to drive, if you're up for it. I say that as a person who avoids anything longer than 30 minutes at all costs, so I probably wouldn't go personally.
EmMilAlly I'm no help with wraps since I couldn't ever figure them out, but I loved the infantino newborn carrier, which I started using at 5 weeks.
@justinslovo kristhegirljacks15 thank you! I am washing my k'tan on hot and am going to dry it on high in an attempt to shrink it to get through the weekend. I am going to try one of these suggestions too. My back hurts so badly today I had to take a painkiller and L is only 10 lbs! I never had this problem with Henry, but I think I was heavier then.
