So I am 10 weeks today and last Monday I had some bleeding, which somewhat quickly subsided to brown spotting. U/S last Wednesday showed a healthy baby. Since then though this spotting has.not.stopped. it's brown, small clots, and is driving my PGAL brain crazy.
And I know, anecdotes are just that, but I'm just WTFing over here. I did not have this with my first. I've been taking it easy, I haven't been to the gym, have not had sex. I'm going to call my midwife at 8 when they open to see what they say...but...anyone else have just...this ongoing?

Hugs friend 🤗🤗🤗🤗🐥 I did not have spotting but I do have friends that did. One had a cyst or something like it in her uterus with baby and it would bleed and scare her often.
I think it's pretty normal, but that doesn't make it any less freaky. Definitely call your midwife to cover all the bases, but it's probably fine. Hope it stops soon!
I had two spotting instances in 1st tri (both were around the time of when my period would've come...not necessarily related, just weird). First one I'm pretty sure was crinone irritation...second one?? Not sure. They do see some "bruising" in my u/s (SCH). Then last week I had a burst of heavy red blood. Stopped as soon as it started. They still see the SCH so they attribute it to that. Each time it's scary but each time my doc has been great about getting me in for an u/s (actually my RE made me wait...but OB sent me in even though I was traveling during second spotting and didn't tell them for a few days and it has long since stopped). As you know it's terribly common...but that never makes if easier. Dark brown is usually better than red, etc. I'm sorry you're having it, it's just a mind-f for those of us with such tight histories. I think my heart stopped beating last Friday when I saw the blood, I didn't even cry I just literally stopped breathing. But then again, all looked fine...
So...all to say, it's probably nothing, call anyway...and hand in there! Hugs!

Sorry for the spotting thechickencoop. For some reason I think you can spot a little after stopping progesterone. But I may be making that up. I had a SCH, and I hated seeing that brown spotting.
Oh yeah...one more comment. When I called the RE with the first one, the message back to me was "if we had everyone come in for every spotting in first tri, we would do nothing but u/s for first tri mamas" suggesting that it's insanely common. I always thought of that when I was worried...it's that common.

I wish they would tell you that! Especially when you're seeing an RE. It would make me feel a little less scared.
I had several days of spotting earlier at 6 weeks then over a week of spotting at 17 weeks. It turned out I have funky placenta, which doesn't affect the baby, which could cause some bleeding. I had a quick ultrasound by my midwife at 11 weeks and i don't think she could tell about my placenta then. So I guess there are many reasons for bleeding or no reason at all, but I know that doesn't really make it any easier.

Hopefully it stops for you soon, but some women can spot throughout their pregnancy.
Think of all those "I didn't know I was pregnant" ladies who had "period" every month throughout their pregnancies then delivered happy, healthy, full term babies!

I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that this is a thing. Like, no way I wouldn't pick up on the eleventy million signs and symptoms. I know every pregnancy is different, but still. An acquaintance of mine found out she was pregnant in November and baby was born at full term in January. And I'm over here like...

Oh I know. I say I didn't have spotting with DS but that was a lie I guess. We were ttc but I wasn't charting or anything, I had what seemed like a normal, albeit shorter, period, then tested the day My NEXT period was due, bfp. At my first US I was like 3+ weeks further along than I thought (like 11 something vs 8).
So, yea. I mean I know. It happens. Just sucks when it doesn't seem to stop 😕

I just had my first bout of brown spotting wednesday and it lasted for about 24hours. Thankfully, the first time it happened I was already at the OB so I had some instant reassurance that everything was fine. They told me it was common and not to worry.

My anecdote is not super helpful since it's been ruled out for you, but I had several SCHs ranging in sizes and had at least spotting, some very heavy bleeding, from 4 weeks until about 16 weeks with my first baby. My OB told me many women have spotting in first tri, many more than you would guess. But I know firsthand how hard and scary it is to see it and hope it clears up for you really soon.
I had brown spotting every day for a week and a half around 7/8 weeks. 31 weeks now and and everything is fine. I was on progesterone and having weekly dildo cams then, but that never caused spotting in other weeks or in past pregnancies. The RE said brown spotting was just old blood and most likely related to the placenta growing, they weren't concerned at all. I hope your ultrasound brings some reassurance!
Just a reminder to all the Rh- ladies to get your Rhogam shot if you have red spotting/bleeding.
I had some brown spotting around 11-14 weeks. No explanation for it when they looked around at the NT scan. I was told your cervix is just full of super sensitive blood vessels when pregnant and something as simple as walking can irritate it causing spotting. I knew how common it was but it still just left me with a pit in my stomach every time I saw it. Hugs!
With my first, I spotted at 5 weeks, 8 weeks, and 11 weeks. We never found out why. My son will be 2 next month I know it is just an anecdote but it really does just happen sometimes!

thechickencoop I spotted and bled a whole bunch with this last pregnancy and everything turned out ok. I too didn't experience any bleeding with my first baby. Doc basically told me I had a pissy cervix. Anything would cause it to bleed. Sex, walking a lot, internal exams. Bleeding ranged from bright red to brown and sometimes would last for days. So you could just be sensitive down there. Hoping my long antidote brings you some comfort. Hugs! bleeding sucks.
