I've been lazy today. I went to target and picked up some stuff while DH is spending time with his BFF for BFFs bday today. Trying to figure out what, if anything, I'm going to knock off my to do list lol.
Had my work baby shower yesterday. It was nice and we got some cute things for baby boy. My favorite thing was some batman swim trunks. They are 3-6m and they are so tiny and cute!
Still no resolution from the landlord. They keep telling us that they are SO tight on money and have been really nice to us and just want everyone to be happy. Like, nice story but that doesn't change anything. We're looking at a couple places tomorrow and if we like one, I'm just going to tell them the final number it will take to move and they can take it or leave it. I'm over trying to negotiate with them!
Had our maternity photo shoot today. Was so fun and a beautiful day! I want to see everyone else's so I'll start a thread when we get the preview pics back!
We just got back from dinner. My mom watched DD while DH and I went out to a Brazilian restaurant which was super yummy - I've been having so much indigestion recently but am feeling okay so far, it really sucks to feel crappy almost every time I eat. Anyway tomorrow morning the IL's are coming over and we are going to breakfast then taking them with us to DD's swimming lesson so they can watch. Overall should be a fun weekend
I had enough energy to clean the kitchen today - that's a big improvement over most days! We have a quiet weekend and plan to finish up the nursery. The correct dresser is being delivered Tuesday, so I'm hoping to use the cribs as storage until then when I'll organize. I'm also planning to get the hospital bags together.
We ended up doing a mini cookout at a friend's house since it was so nice today. DS and my friend's little girl ran around the yard which was fun to watch. I ate a ton of fruit salad, including pineapple, so now I've got heartburn (shocking!) but it was so worth it. That fruit hit the spot.

Howdy everyone! We just got home from a close to 4 hour round trip visit to my cousins to see my little cousin in the show Oliver. I used to live near them when my cousin was super little and now she's 18 and going to college next year. It was definitely the hormones but when she was singing her solo I had tears running down my face that I couldn't stop lol. She turned into such an amazing young woman! She offered to come visit in June saying she could help organize or cook for us! Not like hold the baby or just hang out. So amazing.
We also bought the rest of our nursery furniture today and did some more organizing so slowly but surely we're getting there. Also bought her coming home outfit! Super cute stuff on Gymboree right now!

We are having a nice long weekend at camp. H and I got some reading done - I'm learning about birthing this baby and H is learning about outside babies. Our friends came up to join us yesterday and we went on a short hike, which was nice. I could stay here forever but we'll head back tonight and I have some diapers and other baby stuff that arrived while we were away so that's fun too.
DS is on the mend (thanks for all the well wishes) thanks to some antibiotics, so we're having a chill day here. DH is making chocolate chip pancakes as we speak! Then he has some work to do on the nursery closet (the people we bought the house from were big DIY'ers and extended the closet over the stairwell... it means a lot of storage space, but we don't exactly trust their carpentry skills so DH is reinforcing the "floor" over the stairs, putting in new shelving and pulled out the 1970s shag orange carpet that was stapled in there haha)
I also thought we had lost our infant car seat and base in our last move, because I couldn't find the box anywhere in our house... thankfully I mentioned it to my mom before we dropped $200+ on a new one, because it turns out it was in their attic! So that's a big relief (and savings!) Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday !
I've got a friends baby shower to go to this afternoon and I'll probably try to clean up the hand me down stroller we got. I need to clean it well outside and most of the fabric comes off so I need to put that in the washer.
DH needs to put another coat of paint on the dresser and paint the changing table... hoping that's done by Mid week because our main/last shower is next Saturday and I want to start getting everything washed and organized asap after it's over.
DH was working yesterday and has a lot coming up, so was up late and it means I got to get up with DS both mornings this weekend :/. Usually we each get one morning to sleep in a little. I guess we should enjoy that before baby comes right, ha. I was so crabby when he finally came downstairs this morning that he told me to go take a nap. Oops...
Nothing really planned for the weekend. I stayed around the house dealing with plumbers yesterday. 700 later we can drain he kitchen sink and laundry again. DH is going to a party tonight with a friend - I'm friends with them too but they have the least toddler-friendly place ever and going there stresses me out bc I just end up chasing DS around the whole time, so I will probably skip it and stay home with DS.
Going to nap so I can be less of a Debbie downer for the rest of the day. Would like to get some random house things done today but probably won't happen if DH is gone most of the day.
It's been a busy weekend. DH went to Beauty and the Beast on Friday (so good!) Saturday we tried to find a new recliner. The only one we liked won't be available until end of April, which is pushing it for these babies.
DH is going to work for a bit today after he's cleaned a lot of the house. DS will go grocery shopping and shopping for DHs birthday after he leaves.
My sister and I made funfetti cupcakes because it seemed like the right thing to do on a dreary Sunday. It will take some serious restraint not to demolish them after DS goes to bed...

get in my belly funfetti!!! I would 100% fail at not demolishing them...
We had two birthday parties this weekend. Great time for everyone but I took both kids to the party by myself today and I'm worn out. Plus the fact that DD had a rough night last night and ended up in our bed. Tried to take a nap but I couldn't fall asleep. Now I'm off to get groceries. The weather has been awesome so that helps with everyone's moods too.

I'm at this "escape the room" type place right now called Boda Borg with a bunch of people from school... It was a school trip that I helped organize as part of my leadership role. I had to leave my small team though to sit down cause my feet and back were killing me. 😔
Has anyone had fallen arches from pregnancy? I've been wearing awful non supportive shoes that have been comfortable but now I think they may have done more harm than good. I need good supportive slip on shoes. Any recommendations? Thinking about the sketchers memory foam ones but those don't actually have great support I don't think.

I've told DS that they're spicy and hot so that I can eat them in peace after bedtime. Thankfully he's entirely too young to call my bluff!

hpnegirl those look awesome! Thanks so much for the rec!! ☺️
You're welcome I found them at DSW if you want to try them out before ordering. The fact that I managed to get them on while toddler wearing and they didn't kill my feet walking around the store aisle was a big plus for me. I wear them almost daily now instead of my usual moccasins 🙈
We've been busy, busy. H has been putting together the pack n play, swing, and bassinet. And we hired a nanny! I'm so excited.
I need to talk to my OB, I'd like to go out at 37 weeks and need to figure it out. I'm in so much damn pain. Between that and the anxiety, she seemed to think an early leave is doable.

icedtea congrats on the nanny!! That's so exciting! We have yet to assemble things but I want to get the bassinet set up soon. Sorry you're in so much pain! I'm right there with you and am going to get a doctor's note so I can park in the handicapped spots at school otherwise there's a steep hill to get from my car to class and that is not happening anymore. 😫 Have you found anything that helps?

icedtea I'm so glad you found a nanny! Childcare is one of the most stressful parts of parenting and having someone you love makes all the difference. I don't think I would've actually left for work the first day after leave if I wasn't for our sweet nanny.

Thanks! I'm so relieved to know we have someone set, and we feel so comfortable with her already.
I'm sorry you're also in pain Massage and myofascial release help momentarily, but I've yet to find anything long term. I am trying out some stretching, but that hurts so much that I need to work up the courage ha. My rib pain is also getting out of control, I'm starting to wonder if I should limit my driving. A couple times it's gotten so bad I've wanted to pull over.

icedtea ugh that's awful! I'm so sorry!!! I've definitely been wondering how much the chiropractor is actually helping me since the adjustments are simply not holding. I'm starting back up acupuncture this week so FX that helps some.

I have started nesting already. *Sigh* Dh finds it hilarious. 11 pm is not the time to be moving furniture around. Today I am taking it easy. Two LLR pop ups, builder open house and Zumba. Mil has kid1 so I am hoping kid2 behaves for all of this. I might need to wear her. Which is always fun.
I am not. My SIL is looking into it and I will help with the behind the seen stuff.
Gotcha! If she has any questions, I'm happy to answer (without trying to pressure her to sign up - I am not looking to build a team right now). I am very candidly open and honest about the work it requires and how long you're really looking at to invest before you actually make any money. I was somewhat mislead about how "easy" it is to get your return on investment. So I'd love to chat with her if she wants to!
