Friday I'll be 6 weeks post-op and have my follow-up appointment. I have a question for my fellow CS ladies.
So on the left side of my abdomen, maybe about an inch above my scar I am experiencing an intermittent burning/stinging feeling. It happens when I am moving or bending over most often, but also when at rest. My incision is tightly closed, no redness, and no pain when I press around where I am having the pain.
Have I been overdoing it? Could this be nerve pain?
Haven't experienced that. Mine is just kind of itchy and was told that it is rightly closed during my one month PP check.
Anyway, hav u lifted something heavier than your kid? I remember someone saying that the inside may still be sore even if the scar outside looks fine already.
I was cleared for all activities at 5 weeks including exercise but she said I could have small discomforts and some pain for up to 6 months. Things are heal but she said it just takes time for everything to really settle down in there. I don't have pain like was you describe but I do get a sharp pain that only lasts maybe 10 seconds and it's right be the left end of my incision.
I'm not gonna lie, I have exercised and deadlifted the 45 lb bar at the gym, but that was last week so I'm sure it wouldn't have taken this long to hurt.
I'll call the office tomorrow but I'm not super concerned as everything else points to it being fine.
Lifting made me sore in the beginning but by 5 weeks it was getting easier. Always good to call and check but I'm sure everything will be ok! Feel better soon
I feel this as well and talked to my doctor about it. He said it's normal and I can feel it for a while. He recommended warm bubble baths to get blood flow going down there.
I used to be a pp RN, and you should definitely check in with your doc but almost all of my post op cs patients had this burning feeling. It's from where they tugged on your uterus with the retractors, that's why it's only on one side...
Your doctor can reassure you that it's normal though and rule out other complications.
