We meet again Monday. We had a busy weekend so I'm looking forward to relaxing today. I'm planning on going to yoga in a couple hours, but not much planned besides that. We are going out of town this weekend for a wedding so I'm excited. We are leaving on Friday morning and taking DS to the beach and then staying with one of my brothers. He's going to watch DS for us while we are at the wedding on Saturday. Then H is taking off Monday and we might do something fun in town depending on how the weather is.
Busy weekend for us too. Especially Sunday. Met up with friends to go to a Maple Syrup farm for breakfast (delish!). Then when we got home, I did a 10 mile bike ride (Yay!!!). Then more friends showed up and we just hung out, talked, had dinner, let the kids play. It was a fun and busy day.
I'm nesting. My nesting takes the form of making crazy amounts of food. So far: 5 Meatloaves (1 large loaf, 4 small loafs) 5 loaf pan lasagnas 2 trays of stuffed shells (1 med, 1 sm) 4 gallon ziploc bags of Jambalaya 1 chicken thigh meal that can be dumped in a crock pot 36 chicken and rice and veggies burritos 24 egg muffin tin things 6 breakfast burritos
Actually ran out of room in our freezer, am borrowing space from a very amused friend in their chest freezer....
I took Thursday and Friday off this week so I just need to get through mon-wed at work. I made a list of everything I want to get done before the baby comes and its long... hoping to get some stuff crossed off the list later this week. It doesn't help that I want everything done like now lol
Today is laundry and chores day. Trying to get the house clean for the week so I can work in making things. I've got a craft fair in two weeks so I'm in the final stretch. I've got half of my products made but none of are completely finished yet.
jennyelf good reminder. I need to get some freezer meals done. I've got plans but haven't thought about it in awhile.

I'm starting to think that my freezer meals are not going to happen. Partially because I'm running out of time and partially because we have so much crap piled in front of our big freezer in the garage that I would break my neck trying to get to it.

Yeah, I'm planning on doing mine on April 8th since we are going out of town this weekend. If that doesn't happen I may just buy a couple frozen meals lol. I'm really hoping I actually do it though.

Well I'm officially on maternity leave and it feels so weird! I made a list of everything I want to get done before DS2 arrives, so I hope I have enough to keep busy. The only baby-related things to do are install the car seat, make some freezer meals, and hang the nursery art. Everything else are small projects around the house, some craft projects, and random errands. Today I'm returning some things to IKEA, dropping off stuff at the dry cleaners, and making some batches of lactation cookie dough to freeze.

BabyStandish, I could fill my freezer with easy things to just put in the oven, like Stouffer's lasagna and the bags of skillet meals just to get through those first few weeks. But H is doing South Beach diet, which does not allow white pasta so that's all out. Why does he have to be so difficult? Lol. At the very least, I'll probably make baked ziti because that's really easy, freezes well and I can use wheat pasta. Maybe some chicken chili too because that's really easy. And then I have to try to clear out space in my regular freezer.
Today we have speech and while DS is napping afterwards I plan on doing some things around the house. I've truly put off doing anything for this baby and with ~9 weeks to go maybe I should get on the ball.
This morning I found DS sitting in the infant bucket car seat and it was too cute and also made me want to cry. I can remember putting him in that seat for the very first time like it was yesterday and now his head sticks out a mile from the top! My baby!

We just put it in our calendar to make freezer meals on April 9. The 8th we'll be baking all day for Easter (DW tradition with her mom) so I figured why not make the whole weekend a cooking/baking weekend! Now just to figure out what to make. We also have to clean out both freezers cause we have no space in either! Our second is just a second fridge with a normal/small freezer on top so not a ton of space.
I had plans to do lots of homework today but now I have chiropractor, then lunch with my dad, then acupuncture so we'll see how much work I actually get done lol. (I scheduled the lunch and acupuncture this morning lol.)
It looks like my bffs wedding will be the later of the 2 weekends (June 24) so I'm feeling pretty good about going with a 2-4 week old depending on my own recovery. Also I think I'll just bring the baby strapped to me with a sign that says don't touch lol lol.
Me: 32, Wife: 38, Together for 5 years, Married for 2 years IUI #1 (8/2016): Letrozole, Ovidrel, Crinone = BFN IUI #2 (9/2016): Letrozole, Ovidrel, Endometrin = BFP!! EDD 5/26/17
Mondays always come to fast. We also had a busy weekend, so felt like we were scrambling last night to get the minimal prep done for today.
I have an appointment with a new chiro today that comes highly recommended by the local birthing group and she's Webster trained so hopefully that will be a huge benefit to birth this big baby :-)
I need to prep some things since I'm now dairy/soy free and DH is clueless about reading labels, etc.....That also makes me wonder how that will impact my food at the hospital...I should probably look into it sooner rather then later.

I'm apparently super anemic and vitamins aren't helping so I go in for an iron infusion this Wednesday. The doc claims it'll give me more energy, get the baby moving more and stop my contractions. I did Google it a bit and a lot of people feel really sick afterward so really not looking forward to that.
I don't know if it's the anemia or what but I'm so not motivated to do much of anything. I went through crazy nesting over the last few weeks and cleaned my house top to bottom, and actually got a ton of work done. But today has dragged on and on and on and on. It's still only Monday
A friend of mine is due at the end of April, so about a month away and she keeps texting me and posting on FB about how she wants to go into labor now and using her breast pump to try to get labor started. Look, I get it, that last month is a slow drag to the finish line and it can be really tough but it's still so important for baby to finish developing their lungs and immune system. Like there is no way (without a legit medical concern/reason) that a doctor will induce at 35 weeks.

Rant over. I just needed to get that out!!
ugh - yes I'm totally impatient too but if you've ever stepped foot in a NICU, you know that it's so much better on the baby and mom if the LO does get that last month in the womb. I'm perhaps extra judge-y of people with these kinds of first world problems - not sure I would hold myself back from saying something to her if she were complaining to me

I've had people asking me if I just want the baby to be born now. "No, I'm only 34 weeks along, and kiddo needs more baking time. I will gladly take a few more weeks of discomfort to avoid having a premie baby!" Seriously, what is wrong with some people?

I am so over being pregnant at this point and am counting down these last 5 weeks but I also have my fingers crossed so hard that I make it to my RCS date. The longer I keep this boy cooking, the better (within reason, of course) because all I care about is that he's healthy. I'll gladly trade the misery of the last few weeks of pregnancy for a healthy, full-term baby!
I need to seriously prepare for this babe. I haven't meal prepped at all, looked at breast pumps, finished the nursery or even bought the necessities. I don't know why I'm in denial that this is actually happening but I feel come may, I'm going to be in a world of hurt.
DNW to have a preemie. My SIL just had nephew almost 4 weeks early and although he didn't have any severe issues, she had to bring him every other day for jaundice checks and weight checks because he was just over 5lbs but losing consistently.

Ugh. It would be so hard for me to not say something to her. Yes, these last few weeks are rough but they are nothing compared to having a child in the NICU.

That's what my go-to line is too. I just don't understand people.

I'm side eyeing hard at her wanting to jumpstart at 35w. I wouldn't bat an eye at 38w, but anything before 37w is too early.
I'm totally over being pregnant, have been for about a month now, but totally not dumb enough to try to jumpstart before hitting term
