silverspoon that sucks. I buy off local fb pages, but the no show policies are tight and public shaming tends to keep too many people from doing that. Lollipop it sounds like s had a great week off. I wouldn't worry about it a bit. My moms dog has been sick and we just found out it's likely liver and kidney failure. The kids love the dog and I'm sick trying to explain it to them. I think we are going to say goodbye to him today. I don't know if that's the right choice or not, but dd1 said she'd like to see him.

So tired.
Not only are we dealing with molars, but dd2 is in a nap transition as well.
She would happily take two naps a day still, and is definitely tired enough for them, but the second nap is starting to get too late and bedtime has become a nightmare. A few nights ago she had a meltdown for TWO HOURS until she passed out at 9:30.
The last two days I made her stay awake past her morning nap as long as I could, had her take one nap around lunchtime, and then tried to keep her up until bedtime. It worked, but man.... tired, cranky babyfest. Bedtime was a breeze and she was down in like 5 minutes, though!
How are you guys doing on naps? Everyone down to one nap yet? I'm excited for her to get used to the new routine. That morning nap makes it hard to get out of the house for activities.
dizzycooks - Sorry about the dog. I think giving dd1 the choice to see him is the right thing.
silverspoon - I hope you hear from slide lady. I have sold furniture on Craigslist and never had issues with anyone being weird or not showing up. It always makes me a little nervous, though.
We're still at 2 naps depending on the day. If she gets up early she has a morning and afternoon nap, if not it's just one around noon. We're doing one more often than 2.
2 naps, 1 nap, no naps. It's anybodies guess. silverspoon I have had no luck with FB buying or selling. So much ghosting. dizzycooks sorry about the puppy.

DD is firmly in the 2 nap camp. We have skipped due to events but she mostly NEEDS a morning nap about 2-3 hours after her wake time. I'm looking forward to the day that she consolidates to 1 nap in the afternoon. Life will be so much easier!
pinktartan9 - I'm cool to be ute twins if you are! LOL! kcrkcs - it sounds like you have/had a VERY nasty bug and I hope that it leaves you alone soon. dizzycooks - I have two major stresses going on right now - getting ready to move to a new home (we are getting this house ready to go on the market and we are closing on the new place Monday - then a few weeks of renovation) and thinking about my next career move. I generally cope by drinking wine and zoning out at work. Also, talking about it helps. I have some mom coworker friends with whom I can share thoughts and commiserate. Frankly, I'm also in awe about how much moms can do while keeping it all together. Moms are awesome! I am always impressed by all of y'all and myself - we keep it going! So in answer to your question - drink, dish - and do it!
I am still thinking about which parenting hill to die on. I guess mine would be trying to stay off of my phone when I'm with my kids. DS is 3.5 years old and doesn't know how to operate any electronic device. DH and I are just not into being on our devices when we are with our kids. I'm only with my kids 3-4 hours per day on the weekdays and I want to be having fun with them in those short hours. Also, there is too much food prep/laundry/cleaning to do. So maybe that's it for me - just trying to be tuned into them when I am with them.
I start work on Tuesday! I'm excited. Part time at jiffy lube. Easiest job hunt I've ever had. And the guy didn't even really interview me, he just asked my availability and if I could start Tuesday.

We're in the two nap camp too. Sometimes he'll take a short (like 20-30 min) morning nap if he's going somewhere, but then he'll make up for it in the afternoon. He usually naps about 3-3.5 hours total.

DD2 is about 50/50 on the morning nap. If she naps it usually lasts about an hour if she's in her crib. Afternoon nap is all over the place for length. Her overnights are all over the place too. 2-6 wake ups......I'm exhausted!

I just watched Moana with DS for the fourth (5th?) time. I've lost count. The music is wonderful. My kids love it. I catch DD humming the music even when the movie isn't on so I bought the soundtrack. I rarely rarely sit through an entire movie and I've sat through this one multiple times. It's good. If you haven't seen it, you must!

That's some awesome napping! Even if dd2 takes 2 naps, it's usually around 1.5 hours total.
dizzycooks - no nap since Tuesday? WHAT. If I knew how to emoji on here I would give you the "eyes popping out" one for sure. How how how? My kid would be nonstop meltdown from noon on.

I didn't say it's pretty. I'm currently trapped under a fussy baby. It's midnight. She's been crying an hour and a half. I can't sleep anyway but I'd settle for peace and quiet.

We started to watch it with my mom Wednesday night, and my dad got into it about 10 minutes in and joined us. I ended up leaving the DVD there so they could actually watch it without S interrupting. M loves the music, she dances the whole time
We're at my mom's for the day. M threw up 3 times in a row in the middle of the living room. I never carry extra clothes for either of my kids, unless I'm planning to do something messy. She hasn't done it again in like an hour. It was so weird. So now my mom and I have to go buy her a new outfit because my mom doesn't have a working washer and dryer. We had to go to the store anyway, to get a present for C.

We've been at one nap since she was about 11 months old, I think. It's way easier than 2. I was happy to see that first nap go.
We also *finally* had tooth #3 break through today. I swear she's been working on that thing since the beginning of January.
DH was putting DDs 1+2 to bed the other night: DH: Good night, DD1! DD2: I'm not going to say good night, DD1, because I'll see you later tonight. DH: ? ? ?
And as it turns out, the next night he caught them cuddling together in DD1's bed having the following conversation (he just listened outside the door, didn't bust them): DD2: So DD1, tomorrow should we go to my bed? DD1: No, my good night music CD is better.

We had no plans today but when we woke up the weather was picture perfect so we loaded up the kids and the dog and headed to our favorite park. Then lunch at our favorite brewery. I have big Saturday night plans after the DS goes to sleep. I'll be watching Scandal with a glass of wine and about 4 loads of laundry that need folding!
scorpioscuba I should definitely join you on the laundry folding train. I don't really want to though. H is home tomorrow, so I get to sleep in, and I'm debating if I want to counteract the caffeine I had this afternoon with wine or a sleeping pill. H won't be home until at least midnight, so I have plenty of time.
I'm still trying to decide. At this point my best bet is probably going to be the pill. I wish I was chill enough to go to bed without H being home. But I get way too worked up over every little noise. Like, think-its-a-serial-killer when the wind blows or the house settles level of panic. It's ridiculous. It's also part of the reason that I would never have even considered seriously dating or marrying someone who worked out of town. I think if I had ever actually lived on my own I'd be less paranoid, but I went from living at home, to roommates at college, back to home, to living with H. And when I first moved in with H we had roommates, so there was always at least one other person in the house, plus I was staying up most of the night waiting for H to come home.
+1 to laundry. Tomorrow is going to be brutal. The pile is huge this week. crimsonandclover so cute! My girls chatted for a long time Friday night, we told them to go to bed many times and usually they are quick to be quiet. I saw glimpses of them getting older and sharing secrets at night I'm going to pick up a trampoline tomorrow. Like a big one. I am having mixed feelings. They are so big and ugly, but I'm sure it will provide hours of entertainment. Please God keep everyone from getting hurt ðŸ˜

Can I complain about the housing market here again?
ARGGGGHHEHEEEGEGEGGGHHGGHHHGHHGHGHHGHHGGGH.
Okay. Thank you.
We are putting in an offer on another house. This time $41,000 over asking. On a house in a location I never in a million years thought I'd live with a busy street on one side.
House is pretty great, though and two blocks from the elementary school, a few blocks from a park, and one block from the golf course my H likes to play at that has a walking trail around the whole thing.
But oh my god. Seriously the worst. Don't move to Portland anyone. Unless you happen to be a tech millionaire or something.

We have a space saving high chair so I've started just buckling DD in and pulling her up to the table with her own plate. Um, when did she get so big!?!? ðŸ˜

NellieOleson good luck with this offer. But yeah. It really sucks when housing markets get out of control. I'd love to move to the Pacific Northwest someday but it's not likely to happen unless I get a sweet relo pkg.

Portland used to be so affordable and funky, but it's officially become bonkers.
House hunting here makes me feel poor, and we are far far from it. I can't even imagine how people making less get by. It's pretty depressing, and makes me sad to see Portland losing so much of what made it rad to begin with.
