Well my time at home is close to being done and I go back to work April 21st. Next week I'm gonna have my mom be less hands on for the mornings so I can get used to getting 3 kids (3.5 yr old and currently 8.5 week old twins) ready for daycare. DHs job requires him to be there before 7am so he leaves by 6:30 most mornings so he won't be a ton of help.
Send me your tips to get out the door alone and hopefully on time!! How do you do it!!!!
following! we lead almost identical lives. haha I go back May 8th but twins don't start daycare until May 22nd. (they will be home with my H and my mom for a week each.) my H is also gone by 6:30am.
I'm thinking I need to get up at 5am to get myself ready, feed and dress babies and then get DD1 up about 6:30am to get dressed and out the door by 7am?

@jacks605, I don't have any profound advice really - but prep as much as you can the night before. I make bottles, lay out the babies clothes and my clothes the night before. I also only wash my hair 2x/week so that my showers in the morning are super quick. And I set up the coffee maker to brew into my travel mug the night before. I also put the carseats on the counter so that I literally just place them in them and go. Little things like that (which take very little time) all helps.
I wake up around 5:30 to get out the door by 7:30. The wild card is that the babies will wake up anytime between 5:45 and 7. At almost 5 months we still don't have a set wakeup time. So, sometimes I'm in the shower and they are both screaming their heads off. It's just par for the course.
MH leaves at 4am so I'm also solo in the mornings. Good times.
I'd start with a call to daycare to see if they can feed breakfast- that would take one thing off your plate. I've heard some parents put their kids to bed in their playclothes for the next day. Mine were terrible spitters and leaked overnight pretty frequently, so it wouldn't have worked for us. We had a nanny when I went back to work. I left for work anytime between 4-7am so mornings would have been all on DH... I can't even imagine that working out
@callmekd - Next week I'm gonna get up and feed babes and get LO1 ready and get myself ready and see how long it takes. Try that for a few days to get more efficient the. Backward plan to when I want to get to work (8am). I've gotten used to sleeping in with the babes and being in either pjs or yoga pants. I'll keep you posted how bad it is.

Yes daycare will feed LO1 breakfast. Good use! 1 less thing to do.
@jacks605 sounds good! LMK. I'm also thinking about starting a "chore" chart for DD1 - ie if she does everything she needs to do in the morning (get up, get dressed, brush teeth, get shoes on) she will get a star or sticker or something. and then at the end of the week if she gets a certain amount she gets a prize.
When I'm solo I try to wake up and get myself totally ready before the kids wake up (usually this works, but sometimes they just *know* and wake up when I should be stepping in the shower, which foils the plan. Anywho, I get ready and then make bottles. Wake them up and go through the assembly line. Bottles, diapers, get dressed. Carry them downstairs to play in the living room while I make my coffee and then we're out the door. I have my H feed the dog and let her out before he leaves, and he'll also set the carseats out for me so they're ready to go. I make sure the diaper bag is packed and ready the night before. When they were that young, I'd get them up at 6 to be out the door by 7. Now that they're older and can hold their own bottles, aren't constantly spitting up on themselves and me, etc., I wake them closer to 6:20 to be out the door by 7. I know having a toddler will complicate things further. Good luck!! You'll get into a rhythm that works for you...eventually!
I prepped everything the night before. Bottles made, pump gear packed and lunch made so it was just grab and go in the morning. I also ate oatmeal for breakfast at work so tht helped too.
We skipped pjs And the babies slept in whatever they were going to school in the next day. Mine were pretty good at dream feeding so I'd give them bottles around 5, put them back to bed and then get myself ready. I was out the door by 6:30 so my husband did daycare dropoffs. They would give the next bottle after he dropped them off.
I didn't have a toddler to contend with and we were pretty lucky with being able to sleep in playclothes. On the random days one of their diapers leaked it wasn't a big deal to change the one outfit instead of both.

Those of you that say you make bottles ahead of time, are we talking formula bottles? I thought you had to dump them after an hour or so. Would love to make a days worth of bottles ahead of time.

It all can be kept in the fridge. Formula for 24 hours and BM for 4 days? There's formula pitchers (I know Dr. Brown makes one) where you can make a whole day ahead of time and just pour and warm as you need it.
^^^^This is what I do. I use the Dr. Brown's formula pitcher for DC bottles the night before.

The hour is from the time baby starts drinking it. Or if you aren't refrigerating it.

We don't even warm it. Right now with both babies teething, they love the cold formula.
