lakegirl, enjoy subbing! carrots, I heard about the highway collapse on CNN (and Parenting). Absolutely insane. Hope you have a pleasant drive to the beach!
It's cold, dark, and rainy today. DS1 was up twice: once at 11 due to a nightmare and again at 4 because he wet the bed. I know all kids are different but I feel like an almost 3 year old should be consistently sleeping through the night. He has rarely STTN, even before the baby. I'm going to bring this up to our pedi but until then, anyone have similar experiences with a toddler that wakes up 1-2 (sometimes more) times a night? Advice? Insight? His main reasons for getting up are: can't find his pacifier (yes, he still sleeps with one), he can't find his stuffed dog, or his twilight turtle has turned off. He also occasionally wakes up screaming inconsolably and "out of it".

E was up at 6:30 so I put her back down to sleep and I got a little more sleep too. I am pumping and then getting myself ready. The nanny is coming over for a little while today too.
I'm sorry for the toddler sleep issues heybulldog56. No advice, just hugs.
Hope the nanny-time makes you feel a little less anxious about next Monday peaseblossom55.
T-minus 3 days until I'm back at work. I've packed a daycare bag with all of B's essentials. I'm as ready as I'm going to get I think. I'd just feel so much better about going back if he slept better at night. At this point his sister was doing 7hr stretches and I actually felt decent during the day. This time around I just feel run down. I'm nervous that all I'll want to do at work is shut my door and take a cat nap. 😬

lakegirl you got this! I hope today goes well for you. @hellobulldog56 sorry no advise but I hope things get easier too peaseblossom55 and @ellabee I know it's hard getting ready to go back to work I hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible.
Nothing planned here today. All the talk about going back to work is making me think of how little time I have left and I have all the feels 🙁

Nanny is still here she is watching E while I pump. I feel a bit better about things but I still don't feel ready to go back to work. It sucks but I can't do anything about it. I have some good nanny cameras set up with an app from my phone where I can see E during the day which helps.
Hi! Visiting family is going well and DS1 is getting great socialization with his younger cousin. W is getting family snuggles too.
I will have to say that the bed in DHs grandparents house is magical for naps. I've put W down for a nap there every day we've gone over there (sometimes awake but sleepy) and he sleeps on there for a couple hours. He even puts himself to sleep. I'm gonna miss that bed.
Baptism is this Sunday and the ILs are freaking out because the Monsignor scheduled another baptism at the same time and we are gonna have to share the chapel. It isn't an uncommon occurrence but they are just worried that we won't get pics with just us and W and the godparents and about having these random people in our photos. I'm meh about it. It's a big parish where we are having the baptism. It happens.

Happy Friday!
carrots have a good drive and good time at the beach! I have a friend in Atl so I heard about it as it was happening, but yes, it's national news.
heybulldog DS has been STTN since around his first birthday. He rouses sometimes but goes back to sleep without us. I wish I had advice. Does he have a nightlight so he can see to find his paci and dog? The screaming sounds like night terrors and there isn't much you can do for those
Sorry B.still isn't sleeping well ellabee. N is finally going to bed at a reasonable hour but that means her wake up is at 3am which isn't going to be so great soon. DS used to get up at 1am and I could get back to sleep before I had to get up!
Quiet day here. DH has to work later. DS has been a bear about taking his naps, gets up late, and is a nightmare at dinner time. Hope that isn't the case today.

I had two beers while eating pizza and coloring in my adult coloring book earlier. I feel like such a rebel. Then I took a nap. I am now drinking coffee. I think once i finish I'll be ready to pick up my children and parent. Pretty relaxing start to my last weekend of mat leave.
The boys are making me peanut butter nutella cookies. Perfect for a rainy day, it's so gross and cold here. Subbing was fine, nothing exciting to report except that I got to eat lunch with my work wife! I miss seeing her every day.
heybulldog56 that sounds like an amazing day! I would like to come hang out for your next pizza-beer-coloring event.

R turned 3 last month. He only started STTN last July. Last night he woke up, asked for water, and fell back asleep. If one of us doesn't sleep with him he wakes up and comes into our room fairly often. I often wake up, even before I had kids, so I've always written it off as normal (but frustrating)

Poor DS1 His icky symptoms yesterday are gone but he's been running a fever since late yesterday afternoon. Motrin helps but it keeps coming back. Guess I'll be staying home instead of going to the brewery tonight. I just want him better!

Oh no I hope he feels better soon, and boo for not being able to go out.

So, one of my To-Do tasks before I go back to work is to finish DS baby book. Yes, he's 2.5.
Anyway, I'm so thankful for all my posts on my original BMB here! I had completed up to his four month page, then went back to work. Thankfully we migrated to TCF around the same time. I've found posts about his first tooth and first haircut, doing cute things I forgot.
So keep posting here! Even things that seem mundane might be nice to read again in the future.
DH and I went to a gala tonight. Just got back. My brother and his wife watched the kids and it seemed like they did relatively well.
B woke up when we got home (surprise surprise). I'm a bit bummed because I'll get even less sleep tonight than I usually do, but DH is taking DD for the day tomorrow for a daddy day so I'm planning on letting B take a few long naps on me so I can sneak in some sleep and snuggles too. Last 2 days of leave, so I'm being selfish.
