C and I are getting our hair cut this morning (1st time for her, I'm just having her trim a tiny bit and hoping it helps the frizz!) and dance class. Maybe a stop for a donut between if there's time:)
Good morning! Working a half a day today then cleaning up the house to prepare for my preggo BFF visiting tomorrow! I'm trying to dig out all of my old baby stuff I don't need and it is scattered all over the house. I have a feeling I am going to find tons more stuff after she leaves and have to put it in a box to ship to her.
Anyone listening to S-Town, the Serial spinoff (billyhorrible have you gotten to it yet)? I just finished episode 2 and while it started slow it is really compelling and interesting.
While I have no idea what this is, I saw that KKLL started a thread on parenting.
My bff is coming to hang out today. We're eating lunch and I'm dyeing her hair during nap time. Nothing else today which is perfect for this cloudy, dreary day.

Morning.
That's insane carrots- I hope it doesn't affect your commute too much. Have fun at the beach!
I'm stuck in my street parking spot because there are two ambulances blocking me in. Have to be at the school I'm reviewing in about 2 min. On a brighter note, I saw a little girl in the graduating PreK class who I used to provide speech for through Early Intervention, and she's going to a general education kindergarten, so that's amazing.
Going for a girls night tonight for a friend's birthday and that's about it.
Nothing exciting today. Working and then getting the kids. DH has a flight today and won't be home till around bedtime tonight. Might do homemade pizza with the kids tonight for dinner since DS likes to "help" in the kitchen.

carrots that's crazy! So happy no one was hurt and hopefully it doesn't affect your commute too much while being repaired!!
We are having an open house on Sunday, so my dad is coming over to help me with some little repairs/cleaning around the house. The weather is shit but I really need to power-wash my porches and the front stoop/stairs. Also, I have had a terrible headache since last night so I'm just trying to sit here in peace with my eyes closed , I look over to check on Jules and she is rubbing her banana on every single window in my living room... add that to the list of things to clean today 😐

Last day driving to MKE! It's kind of an odd feeling, since this is the first time I will be transferring and not feeling badly about it. Like I will miss some of the people, but I'm just...done with it.
Then I'm on vacation until April 12th. I of course am brilliant and have a root canal scheduled for first thing Monday morning.

I got up before the kids and had time to make breakfast and coffee without a symphony of whining... So today is off to a good start already! Off to the gym this morning and then a beautiful afternoon. If only we had a landscaped yard instead of a giant mud pit!
Just a boring Friday here for us. DS and I already got our grocery shopping in and laundry is underway. I bought some salmon for dinner tonight, and I'm regretting that. I thought it wouldn't be so bad and we're trying to eat healthier foods... but I'm really not looking forward to dinner tonight :/
But the good news is my cold is finally on the way out, so hopefully I'll finally get to meet my BFFs baby this weekend!

Starting today! I've been home the past two days with a sick BH, so my podcast listening has been on hold.

Ha, carrots she did enjoy it! No pictures because she was sitting on my lap (and I had foils in my head, lol) but we did have time for a donut before dance class! POOF
One of my BFFs is coming over soon with her daughter who is 3 months younger than DD. It's a cool morning, but it doesn't look windy so it might be ok for a walk if we bundle up, or we'll just play inside. I gotta do the stick the arm out the door weather test yet
H has a busy schedule today so he won't be back until after midnight. I might try to catch up on the kiddo's yearly photo books tonight since I haven't done that since January. But otherwise we are having a popcorn party!
budders and billyhorrible I just finished episode 2 as well. Be careful with the parenting thread there are some spoilers or at least hints that I kind of wish I hadn't read yet. I'm completely intrigued!
I'm so not. Everyone I know loved it and I'm not terribly interested. I'll finish it out since I'm already at episode 5, but I really don't get how people think it's better than Serial (season 1).
@scoop We got our cabinets through a local company that works with our contractor a lot, they're made by Diamond. And we're getting our marble countertop slab from a local company that we also bought from when we did our last kitchen. We're still looking for somewhere to get butcher block for our island and I did look at the Ikea website, but I think we'll probably go with a local business instead.
@scoop My only advice is not to order through lowe's or home depot! We got our cabinets through them last time and although we were totally happy with the cabinets and process, we found out that they really overcharge. We got better quality cabinets this time (and more of them) and paid less!

Just curious if you have experience with butcher block in the kitchen? We had butcher block counter tops before we re-did our kitchen and I hated them. Every little spill leaves a stain and water spots show up so easily and stay forever. You're supposed to treat them every month or so with mineral oil which was a total pain so I didn't do it often enough. I remember when we switched over to laminate and the first thing I made was stir fry. I dripped a little of the brown sauce on the counter and it was amazing to just be able to wipe it up completely clean in seconds with a dry paper towel.
veggiemo We put white Carrera marble countertops in our last house so we're no strangers to high maintenance countertops!
I'm sure it looked gorgeous, though! I've never had stone so I don't know much about the upkeep in general, I just know the butcher block (for me) was such a pain.
