Does anyone have any thoughts on the Abeka curriculum? I know nothing about nothing when it comes to this stuff and we are likely moving so I've been calling daycares in our new area and so far 2 of them follow this. Is it a good way for kiddos to learn?
When I taught at a private school, I had to use this curriculum.
It is....different...it's mainly rote memory, which can be good, but not everyone learns that way. There's also not much critical thinking skills taught in the curriculum, so I had to add those skills in. It is a very religious curriculum, and I found that is was almost comical how they went out of their way to not include some things in the science curriculum. ex. big bang theory, dinosaurs, evolution, etc.

Meh that's what I was afraid of when reading some of the information online. I might have to keep looking. I'd like for her to not just be memorizing stuff.
