Is there a sleep strikes going on? Reagz had horrible naps yesterday because of the family brunch. She went down super easy. You'd think she would sleep all night. NOPE. You'd think since she woke up and got boobed, she'd sleep in a little longer. NOPE. Thank God for the Tween. I can hear Elmo and pretend play happening down stairs. Also, I feel like I've been beaten on my whole right side. Pain after a fall is awful. Damn you Williams Sonoma for your glassware displays. You know toddlers are human tornadoes!
Henry accidentally ordered All Dogs Go to Heaven on demand yesterday. We've been watching it and there are dogs smoking, drinking beer, gambling, and I think one dog is supposed to be a prostitute. How did they get this idea for a kids movie?! At least he likes it, so it was worth the $3.99. He got up this morning and handed me the remote saying "doggy? doggy!?"

I feel so much better this morning. Still have a nasty cold but at least the chills and weakness are gone. I think we might try to get out of the house today. We need to anyway, but no clue what we will do.
EmMilAlly - I totally don't remember that from All Dogs Go to Heaven. Whoops!
@officedronette - hope your night/morning got better and L is still asleep.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. A childhood classic!! I named my dog Charlie after Charlie B. Barkin.

Elena points at the remotes and says "Da-no? Da-no?" (That's Daniel Tiger, to you.) One time at my parents' house I put on Finding Dory. Now at their house she points at them and says "Fersh? Fersh?"
I love that they know the remotes are the bringer-of-shows.
Storms all morning. It seems like the worst of it will stay south of me (tornado warnings all morning), but we're stuck inside. It's been a long morning already.
I'm going down the rabbit hole of homebuilders and plans. We've been keeping an eye out for homes we would love for years to come, but DH said it may also come down to a fairly cheap lot we can build on. That would be my best case scenario! I told him if we build, we absolutely will have a basement for tornado protection.
@feegan - good luck. I hope what I said was not unkind as that was not my intention, I just don't want to see someone I like thinking that they don't deserve more when they do.

WWJ15D?
Elena took a hard, awkward fall off the couch onto our tile floor and hit her back on the metal leg of the coffee table. She cried for a really long time, which is very unusual for her. She almost never cries when she's hurt.
Now she's favoring her left arm. She can move it freely at all the joints and moves her hand, but won't hold anything or put pressure on that arm. We gave her Motrin and she's down for a nap now. Nothing looks swollen, feels tight, or looks bruised/red.
Would you take her in if she's still favoring it after she wakes up, or hold off and see how the rest of the day goes?
kristhegirl I'd see how she is when she wakes up. Most likely I'd give her until tomorrow. But if you have help with Max today, I might take her in tonight if it still seems to be bothering her.
We're supposed to be getting intense storms today. It was actually supposed to be here already, but it's really gorgeous outside. I'm glad; we have baseball photos this afternoon, and I don't want to have to reschedule since our calendar is crazy. Other than that, we're doing a nice chill day which has been SO, SO needed.
Also, I bought my oldest his 2nd grade curriculum yesterday. He's getting so old
kristhegirl, Post-nap will be the big indicator. A lot of times, toddlers will be afraid to use an arm/leg if it hurt them after a fall. If they have forgotten about it after sleeping then they'll try again, and you'll see if it's still bothering them.
kristhegirl Did her arm get pulled at the time, like if someone was trying to catch her while she fell? If that were the case, I would suspect possibly nursemaid's elbow, where the elbow gets pulled out of joint. DD1 had that twice and it is very easy to put back but will be uncomfortable until they do.

My husband is taking her to urgent care. It's clearly causing her pain. She seriously hardly ever cries from injuries - not even 5 minutes when she landed on her face after diving over the arm of the couch a few months ago.
She cries if she leans on it or if her lower arm or hand touches anything, won't grab anything (but tries, so I know she can move it), and her hand/arm is slack when she's walking around in a way that is odd.
She wasn't grabbed as she fell, but that couch is split in the middle because both sides recline. It's possible her hand or arm got in there as she went down.
I'm staying home with the 7-week old and feel helpless. My mama instinct says to have it looked at but I hope it's nothing. 😞

I'm exhausted so I decided to lay down with Noah in my bed to see if he passes out. Actually it has more to do with if I'm sleeping or nursing Noah my husband will leave me alone. Otherwise all dat it's been, "you just need to push through being sick. Don't rest or give in to it." I want to yell at him to shut the f up. I was up 3 times last night with Noah and yesterday because he didn't sleep at work the night before I was on mom duty all day when I felt like crap. Today is better but I'm still exhausted doing anything to exert myself.

M just had diarrhea again. She hasn't had it since the one time on Friday morning. I thought she was getting better. I can't take another multi-day belly bug again. We had this 4 months ago!
