It's going to be in the mid-50's this weekend. I planned on taking a walk out to breakfast or lunch. But 😩. Tired. Kids woke up before 6. I'm sitting on the couch trying not to doze off.
We're going out to a bbq later. I'm looking fwd to it but at the same time hope we come home early.
It is snowy here right now, boo!! Last night we got lots of freezing rain which brought down some big branches. Thankfully they just missed the house. Looks like we will be spending the day in our PJs lounging around the house.
My eye appears to be a little better. I'm putting some homeopathic drops in it and I might risk wearing contacts later bc it's my friend's baby shower and I don't really want to wear my glasses. I'm bringing Nolan with me since DH will be in the water with M at swimming lessons.
N is kind of cranky this morning so I hope he's his happy self later. He's currently taking a cat nap on the boob.
He had the biggest blow out this morning during tummy time. I saw a little spot on his back, picked him up and his entire side was poop. He thought it was funny.
I'm giving my friend a crib sheet, a book, coffee and wine. Is that weird?!
Sorry this post is all over the place.
Wine was one of my favorite baby gifts! I also thought it was nice when I got something for ME in addition to the baby.
My baby decided 4 am was an appropriate time to wake up. Thankfully my husband let me get some sleep. Headed to brunch, then cleaning and laundry. I also want to prep daycare stuff so next week is just all baby time.
I think we've hit the 4 month sleep regression and hit it hard. N's been in the crib and his sleep was getting better, but then the last two nights it's taken forever to get him down and he's up more than usual in the night too. Last night he was up for two separate two hour stretches. He's fighting nap time too - he's been up for 3 hours now, which is at least an hour longer than his usual first morning stretch, and he won't go to sleep! I'm so tired.

I'm so happy the infant room is ok with me taking costco size diaper and wipe refills. It cuts back on weekly stock ups.

Ughh I hope it passes soon.
N is having a rough morning too. He's been crying for a couple hours almost non stop. He's over tired. M woke him from his cat nap earlier. He's going down for a nap now (FX!) an hour earlier than normal. We have to leave in an hour for the baby shower and I haven't showered yet. This should be fun.
Our one saving grace so far is that, so far, while N will sometimes cry if he's really overtired and he's maybe a little fussier than usual, but he's otherwise in a fine mood. He was smiling and cooing at me at 4 am when I was trying to get him to go back to sleep
I had lunch plans tomorrow with a cousin and my aunt. But now all my aunts and uncles are doing a bbq lunch today for my grandpa's bday (who passed away recently). So I need to get us all dressed and on our way in 40 min. I really wanted to take a nap. But bbq food for lunch, yum!
Baby was asleep by 9:15 last night. It was amazing, I think we got her started before she was actually tired. Hoping for a repeat tonight.
We're headed to the Honda dealership to get my airbags finally fixed. I really want to upgrade to either a pilot or maybe a minivan so I'm making dh look at them while we're there.
sheepish I think we are too. Usually she goes right to sleep after I lay her down. Now it's fussing, pick her up, put her back down, etc. And she's waking up earlier. Also majorly fighting naps. I can tell she's exhausted.
littlelion I'm definitely going to ask them about quantities when I drop off the paperwork. I'd prefer to do what you do.

my friends made fun of me for having a mini van today. None of them have kids so IDGAF 🤗
The mini van was awesome. The pilot is nice but the third row won't do is much good.
Babies are the best introvert accessory ever. When I get tired of people, I just say the baby needs to eat or is getting fussy. Perfect excuse to get away. I love it.
Is anyone here a Costco member? I'm going to follow up my super non cool mom talk with grocery talk. Wild Saturday over here😉. But I'm happy with our membership so far. They have some good prepared dinners and snacks. What are some of your favorites? We like the frozen muffins (first ingredient is zucchini), kodiak pancakes (lots of protein), chicken and cheese taquitos and spinach ravioli
I need to spend more time in the grocery section there. I've honestly never seen any of these things. I always just buy paper products, detergent, kasha bars, beef jerky and dog food. Totally not using the membership to its fulllest.

Yesss! And they get you out of lots of social obligations you don't want to go to.
@kc295905, costco is super hit or miss for me. I do like the big packs of chicken I can get, and the pork tenderloins are good. I get some gluten free bread there that is only sold at costco. The costco by my parent's house is so nice, ours is tiny and always packed. One nice thing about being on leave has been going mid-day on a Wednesday to avoid the weekend crowds.

I usually buy paper goods, water and diapers. But my sister turned me onto these frozen chicken nuggets (easy meal for leo) & frozen edamame. The avocados have been good but too many even for us.
Guys, babies are confusing. I thought we'd hit the 4 month sleep regression because N's sleep has been so terrible the last few nights (and if you looked at a list of signs of the four month regression, he had them all!), but then last night he slept for almost 8 hours straight, which is the longest he's ever done! He then got up to eat (and was up for an hour and a half due to a spit up causing the need for a onesie change and switchover to the backup Merlin suit) and then went back down for over an hour. I slept for six and a half hours during his long stretch - it was great! Of course this probably means that the stretch of bad nights this week was some other developmental blip and the 4 month regression is still to come ...
@kc295905 😍😍😍 Out baby started out looking like my husband, but she's looking more and more like me.
Oh my lord. This sleep regression. My baby didn't sleep in the pack n play at all. Every time I laid her down she was WIDE AWAKE. We just traded her off. I have no idea what to do.

One of my baby books said the old wive's tale is that babies always come out looking like their father, it's nature's way of confirming paternity, lol.

lola girl idk either and I've done this before. we're co sleeping bc N wakes up so much and this way I can easily nurse him back to sleep. I've been so hungry lately which I'm attributing to all the MOTY nursing sessions.
N's nap schedule appears to have changed to. The 3.5 months I had where the boys napped at the same time was nice while it lasted.
Even nursing to sleep doesn't work! We'll see what happens tonight. I think she is dropping a nap and also transitioning to the different type of REM sleep. I think we just need to start trying way earlier tonight. I was so caught off guard.

We've been in the same boat - last night (when he actually slept great), we went up to put him to bed at the first sign of any sleepiness. I'm hoping for a repeat tonight!
I know now that the fact that he slept so well after just a week of sleeping poorly probably means that the four month regression is still to come, but for now I'm pretending that we made it through with only a week of disruption . . .

That's what I want to try tonight. Fingers crossed!
