Hey everyone! Hope y'all are feeling well and that your sweet pumpkins are growing! Any of you ladies have plans for a babymoon this summer? My H and I are planning on going somewhere but are sort of limited due to stupid Zika. Anyone have any good ideas for relaxing/ all inclusive type places that are Zika free? We are stumped!

We went on a babymoon before DS arrived, I was 30 weeks. We drove from MN to South Dakota to see the Badlands, Rocky Mountains, Mount Rushmore, and Devils Tower (in Wyoming). It was a fun, week long, road trip. We thought about going all the way to Yellowstone National Park, but decided to head back after Devils Tower. It was a lot of walking and riding in the car, but we really enjoyed it. This summer we're going on a family vacation. We'll be staying in a cabin on Lake Superior for about a week.
I hope to squeeze in a weekend trip or two. Our anniversary is in August. So, barring no complications, I definitely want to do something for that. We try to do a weekend bnb type thing each year. But I am hoping to maybe squeeze in one more weekend trip.
We rarely do anything without ds. All our traveling and vacations are to visit family. So it would be nice to spend a little time just the two (well 3 ) of us.
The last week in May we are going down to the keys to my parents time share. We have 3 units so my aunts and uncles and my parents will be there. They've been doing this for almost 40 years. We have a blast!!

I'm not the best pregnant traveler. I like to wait and do trips like that when my babies are a year or so. When DS1 was a year we went to Sedona which was awesome. When DS2 was a year we went to Cancun and I got so sick which wasn't awesome. I'm not sure I can ever go back to MX which makes me sad because lots of good memories there.
gamergirl360 Once my youngest is maybe 5 or so, I want to do that National Park trip!
Not truly a babymoon since we are going with other family members, but DH and I are taking 2 weeks off in August to go to the beach - one week with my family and one week with his. Don't have to worry about Zika on the beaches of Maryland and Virginia.
I'm meeting a bunch of internet friends from my J13 board in Chicago this summer and DH is tagging along for the sake of a kid-free weekend. Does that count?
Shit doesn't always just happen. L: arrived 5.23.13 at 34 weeks with gastroschisis. 131 days in the NICU; short bowel syndrome, g-tube, home TPN; 11 surgeries. Line-free since 12.28.16! Blog
IUI 1-3 BFN IVF #1 - Oct '15 - 10R, 3M, 0F IVF #2 - August 16 - 12R, 11M, 5F. 1 to transfer and 2 to freeze - BFP!! - MMC caught at 7w5d FET #1 - 1/26 - BFP, due 10/14
H's work makes a babymoon basically impossible. We are hoping our yearly camping trip will be a go this year though. 30 weeks pregnant, should be an adventure (I did tell H we need to get a cabin this year)

No babymoon, but we'll go to the Hamptons for the week of July 4th and a few weekends as a family. We're also planning a trip to Sesame Place and Diggerland for DS.
No babymoons but we have a few family trips this summer. With DS we didn't do a babymoon either but when he turned a year DH and I went to Palm Springs for 3 nights and it was awesome. We'll all be going to Hawaii with my family when this baby is 5 months so I'm just holding out for that. I don't mind waiting until I can have a cocktail on the beach.

mrstommyshelby You totally should! I've been to Yellowstone before, when I was younger, and it is beautiful. Definitely a great family trip that the kids will remember.
blackmamba , we are also planning to go to Sesame Street, probably just for the day though.
We just booked Ocean City, MD for 5 days in July. We went two years ago, while I was pregnant with DS and we really enjoyed it.
Love OC! I've been there almost every year since I was little. Our standard family vacation spot.
I went to college in MD and I always heard about OC but not in the greatest light so I never had a desire to go. I'm a little bummed I waited so long but we loved it!

Great suggestions! Thanks ladies! We would love to go to Hawaii but it's so far away for us. We live in Coastal GA. Bermuda would be close but there aren't really any all inclusives and we don't want to plan. Damnit Zika! I just want to go lay on the beach and not do anything! Maybe we will look at Virginia Beaches. 😁
We went on babymoons before DS1 and DD. Both times we went to Disneyland and we had a blast so that's my suggestion Maybe Disneyworld since it's closer to you? I was going to suggest Hawaii too, but I guess that's a no go for you.
No plans for one this time, although there's a chance that we may be going to Disneyland with DH's extended family when this baby is 5 months old. Heaven help us!
littleowl913, I've been to OC as an adult and loved it, but as soon as someone mentions it the first thing I think of is day drinking in a tube at Seacrets.
blackmamba, haha I've been to OC almost every year my whole life but never to Seacrets. Tend to stick to the more family friendly places, though we did go to the casino the past 2 years.
arimaythea, it's been a LOOOOOONNNNNNGGG time since I've been to Seacrets. Definitely down for the more family friendly entertainment at this stage of my life. It was a good time, though. The dirty bananas frozen drinks were yummy.
