Suggestions on Selling Clothes?

Does anyone sell baby clothes online?  (mostly referring to various facebook buy/sell/trade groups)

I was part of a B/S/T group but it has since died down so much I doubt I'll be successful.  I've started going through DS' old clothes since we're expecting a girl but I'd rather list things where I have a good chance of selling.  It's a lot of Carters and similar priced brands.  

Suggestions??

I've had way better luck selling DD's clothes on Poshmark (I know I'm like a broken record advertising them) than on the online yard sales that I'm part of. I also love Once Upon a Child because it's not regular consignment where you wait to get paid. They buy on the spot.

mcp6286 is Poshmark easy to use? I have a bunch of my clothes I'd love to sell, but I'm somewhat lazy with things like this when not super pregnant with twins...

I would likely do Once Upon a Child, because I am lazy. I also recently tried ThredUp for the first time. I haven't gotten my numbers back from them yet, so not sure how it'll work out.

mcp6286, my impression is that PoshMark involves some effort, beyond just sending pieces in. Is that right?

If you have a Once Upon a Child, I would do that. My SIL had a lot of success using them to sell her kids' clothes when they were little. I thought about doing that for DD's clothes since we're having a boy but they were not boxed up neatly or by size and I was too lazy to go through 4 big bins of clothes and do that. So I gave them away.

This is the usual outcome for me. My town yard sale is the weekend before I deliver, so that might be too ambitious. Instead, they'll be in a bag in the back of the Prius for two months, waiting to go to goodwill.

river and icedtea Poshmark is different because you take photos of what you're selling and create a "closet" that other users can shop. It took me about an hour to set mine up but once you do it, all you do is wait until someone buys from you and then ship them the item using a prepaid label. I find it so easy! I've been selling both my stuff and DD's stuff for about 2 years on there and I've made approx $1,800...which to me is well worth the initial time it took to set up my closet.

river, our neighborhood yard sale is the 10 days before I deliver. We have a fair amount of stuff we would like to sell, mainly stuff we're not reusing from DD but I just don't know that I have the ambition to price everything, put it out in the yard and sit there for 4 hours while people try to haggle over a few dollars or get mad that you won't take a ridiculously low price for something. Non-pregnant me does not handle that well, pregnant me might get arrested.

Whoa! I will definitely look into this!  

What kind of clothes are you selling though... I don't have a lot of high end things.  It's majority Carters and then a sprinkling of other random brands like BabyGap, various Target brands, Nike, Ralph Lauren, etc.

Somers Isles for baby stuff I had the same brands as you. I did sell a couple Coach bags and RayBan sunglasses that went for ~$50 each but most of the income came from the sheer quantity of stuff I sold!

Follow up question... they take a percentage right?? How did you price things?

Yes, they take 20% so I always price things for about half their initial value (at consignment I usually get about 1/4 to 1/3 of the purchase price back, so 1/2 price gives me more income even after commission). You can always check out how people selling the same brands have priced their items to make sure you're competitive.
