It's my last day of leave. The nanny so here watching E for a few hours this morning while I do some meal prep. The nanny is awesome but I just want to be snuggling and feeding my baby right now. It almost makes me physically sick.
Sorry to be a downer. The weather is nice but rainy. I finally got my invites out for E's baptism.
My mom just left but fil is stopping by after lunch. I'm afraid that I've forgotten how to juggle both kids by myself. Tomorrow will be the real test. I'm on the laundry warpath today. Regular laundry, bedding, towels, everything. I'm gunning for all of it.
Aw fudge. My nursing pad was folded up and I didn't notice just now. Dd and I are now soaked. Laundry time!
We had a surprisingly okay night (thanks for asking rinny!). DD was up on and off from 7pm-9pm, but B slept for 8 hours. 8!!!!! He was so exhausted from daycare I guess lol. We had one wakeup at 2:30 when I fed B and gave DD another dose of tylenol, then we all woke up around 6:45. That is the best night B has ever done. We've only gotten 2 other nights in the 6+hr range, so I'm ecstatic.
Back to work today and I had a meeting from 9-10 that ran over by half an hour. It was in my office and I was literally screaming in my head for the chit chat to stop so I could pump. I usually try to hit 9/12/3, so when it was approaching 10:30 I was getting so antsy. Ugh.

ellabee I am afraid of meetings running over too and interfering with pumping. My goal is to block out the time on my outlook calendar so meetings can't be booked. Glad last night went well.

I just went in and did this! Hopefully people will respect the time blocks...

peaseblossom55, and ellabee, hopefully the transition back to work is easier than expected, I am thinking of you ladies. I am dreading going back to work and I know that I am luckier than most with my maternity leave.
Q has been cracking me up, he is so sleepy but then he farts and wakes himself up, it has happened about 4 times so far and poor guy just wants to sleep.

How many times a day are you guys planning on pumping at work? I'm at work around 6:30 so I was thinking I could pump around 9 when the second cashier comes in and then again over my lunch break. I think that should make it about the right time to feed W when I get home after work.

peaseblossom55, I keep forgetting that you were working while E was in the NICU. Ugh, so you're having to go "back to work" a second time. That just sucks, and I'm sorry. lakegirl, I had my mega laundry day yesterday. Four loads. Woof. But I put new sheets on oour bed, so that's fun. Not-so-shockingly, I am currently... doing laundry. ellabee, I set up blocks on my calendar, too. Friday is my first day back. I have a call with my boss at 10 and the first item on my agenda is my pumpo scheudle and what I can and cannot do during that time (ie- I can call into conf calls, have phone meetings, do my regular work. I cannot take in-person meetings.) rinny, I had a similar success rate. The thing that sucks, is that with my last pump being at 3, I saw an increase in meetings scheduled from 4-5 (which sucks because I usually try to bounce at 4:15). ambiguousmango, how much time are you able to take?
After some rain showers this morning, it is beautiful today. I've got the windows open. I got my ass kicked at the gym this morning, then went out to lunch with A (who was relatively calm and cool) and a girlfriend. About to start thinking about making dinner (a hello fresh meal).

judyblume14, I got 12 weeks fully paid, and when I go back I get full pay but build on my hours. Example week one I work five hours a day, week two six hours, week three seven hours, week four eight hours, week five back to full time work. Additionally when I was pregnant they let me have a modified schedule for the last month and a half where I only worked three days a week.

I work from 6:30-3:30pm. I have to leave for work by 6am so I'm planning on nursing around 5:30 so W probably won't wake up again until close to 9 and while he isn't super good at it yet, I've been trying to get him on an eating schedule so bottles will happen at certain times. I've gotten him to wait about 2.5hrs at this point to eat, sometimes I can push it to 3hrs. I figure if I can have the nanny feed him a minimum of every three hours, I'll be pumping at that same rate. I'm a little concerned about my supply dropping so maybe I'll throw in a quick pump before I head home at the end of the day. Idk.
I feed B at 6:30am, then pump at work somewhere around 9:30/12:30/3:30 and feed him at bedtime at 6:30-7.
thelittleredm - I'm in the same boat with the time between feedings. At daycare B's been getting 4 bottles @ ~2.5hrs in between and I'm only pumping 3x @ 3hrs in between so I'm hoping as he adjusts he'll be able to drop one bottle to be on my schedule. I'm worried too about supply since I'm emptying my boobs only 6x a day (morning, 3x pumping, bedtime and one motn). 3 months seems early to be dropping to 6x a day (7 on weekends if we keep on a 2.5hr daytime nursing schedule).
I'm so glad I have a boring desk job that allows me to (for the most part) schedule my pumps. I really feel for teachers, doctors, nurses, waitresses, hairstylists, etc, where it isn't as easy to protect their pumping times!
