Height: 25.76" (43%) Weight: 14lbs 12oz (23%) Head circumference: 73% - I forget the actual measurement Clothing/diaper size: 6m Immunizations: Pentacil, Hep B, PCV13, and rotavirus - so nothing new.
This month baby likes: smiling at her older brother, chewing her feet (or really anything she can get in her mouth), planking, diving backward when you are holding her (not fun for me), eating, rolling on the floor, jumparoo, and my cat This month baby dislikes: diaper rashes, naps when she is overtired, sitting up (still can't fully go unassisted yet so she gets frustrated), when mama leaves the room, and is still undecided about solids except peas and avocado. She def doesn't like those lol.
Concerns/Questions: I want her to start sitting unassisted soon so badly. She can do it but is SO wobbly. We will get there. Now if only we could get this diaper rash from eating peas to go away.
Height: 28" (92%) Weight: 19.2 lbs (77%) Head circumference: 46.5 CM (99%) Clothing/diaper size: 12 months/size 3 diapers (size 4 overnight diaper) Immunizations: DTaP-HepB-IPV, DTaP-HepB-IPV, and Prevnar 13 Intramuscular Suspension
This month baby likes: being mobile by rolling all over the place; table food - so far he likes noodles, lasagna, chicken, banana, mashed potatoes, bread This month baby dislikes: asparagus, and he's not too sure about broccoli; he rolled onto his belly while in his crib for the first time yesterday morning and he was so pissed! He has trouble maneuvering with his sleep sack on, so he was wedged into a corner and on his belly, and super angry. I'm considering not putting his sleep sack on him anymore, but I don't want him to be cold.
Height: 26 inches (30%) Weight: 15 lbs 12 oz (18%) Head circumference: 44.6 cm Clothing/diaper size: mostly 9m and 6-12 months (big head and long torso) Immunizations: doesn't have them until next month
This month baby likes: seeing what's around him, his sister, baths, jolly jumper This month baby dislikes: being away from mom, bottles, pacifier, purees
Concerns/Questions: slowly started introducing purees. DS is not a fan. Won't open his mouth and won't do anything if manage to get some in there, just leaves it on his tongue. I do not want to have the eating issues we had (and still have with DD).
DS has a skin infection behind his right ear. It's gross. Doctor gave me a prescription antibiotic cream so hopefully it clears up.
Sleep is still shit. I need to get the guts to just sleep train, I know we'll all be happier even though the process will be hell.
Height: 27.75 in (91%) Weight: 19 lbs 4 oz (81%) Head circumference: 17.5 (82%) Clothing/diaper size: 12 month clothing and size 3 diapers Immunizations: RV, DTaP, Hib & PCV
This month baby likes: Sitting up, watching big sister do everything, laughing, rolling over to get to things, and trying solids This month baby dislikes: Being overtired and sleeping through the night
Concerns/Questions: Poor H is constipated. He's had tiny little BMs and has been grunting so much since trying solids last Thursday. I've given him prunes two days in a row and even tried the rectal thermometer yesterday. I'll try some apple juice tonight if he hasn't gone by the end of today.
Heart murmur and hernia have resolved themselves. Pedi told me I could offer water (2-3 oz a day) and again, suggested sleep training. As she pointed out, he's not starving.
Clothes/Diapers: mostly 12M. I've pulled out some handed down 18m onesies and they aren't huge, especially when DS is wearing cloth diapers. Size 3 diapers, but I might need to size up. It seems like he out pees them whenever he's in them.
Likes: sitting up, talking to people, music, when his big brother pays attention to him
Dislikes: big brother playing too rough or taking toys from him, loud noises or crying, STTN, rolling into a corner and getting stuck
Other: getting two teeth on the bottom (about 6 months earlier than DS1). Rolling a ton, but mostly to the right. We just started BLW. So far: avocado, banana, carrots, and broccoli. He dropped a lot of weight percentiles, but height is holding steady. Not really worried because DS1 slimmed out at this age too.
This month baby likes: any food we give him, his big brother's antics, playing outside This month baby dislikes: sleeping on his back, napping in a crib
Concerns/Questions: G celebrated his half birthday by cutting his first tooth! He's not quite rolling but is close. He's also close to sitting up on his own. He loves sitting in his high chair while we have meals.
I dont have the paperwork with me right now, so these are close but not exact numbers
Height: 28ish inches Weight: 18.8lbs Head circumference: This one I cant remember Clothing/diaper size: we use cloth, but size 2 or 3 disposables size 6 month clothes Immunizations: Pentacil, Hep B, PCV13, and rotavirus - the usual
This month baby likes: food any and all food she can fit in her mouth, rolling around the floor, the dog, being outside, blowing loud spitty raspberries, and the Funky Duck song
This month baby dislikes: being away from me, when her bottle or bowl of food runs out
Concerns/Questions: My mom had to take her to her appointment because of a huge project at work. Her ped is the second doctor at the practice that has commented on how advanced she is. Not that I'm not proud of that, but she doesn't seem anymore advanced than the average 6 month old since they all develop differently. She's sitting up almost alone, rolls all over the place, army scoots herself to things she wants, grabs at everything, can put her pacifier in her mouth on her own, all things that she should be doing between now and 7 months old. Anyone think she's doing anything earlier than average?
jillian I think some pedis do that to flatter parents. It all sounds earlt normal except not sitting alone, which is not early (just totally average).
I've seen pedis who do that when ours is out and I never see them again. Please and thank you dont feel like you need to flatter my parenting by telling me my typically developing kid is advanced. I worked way harder on the one who has massive delays anyway, so it's not my parenting.
That's what I figured. She's doing the same things my niece was doing at that age. Besides the fact, I would credit daycare with anything advanced she was doing anyway. She's 6 months old, its not like I can teach her how to do things. She does what she wants. When we are home, she lays on the floor, play with crinkly toys and pukes and plays in it. Nothing special there.
Height: 27.17 inches (90th) Weight: 15 lbs 6 oz (32%) Head circumference: 17.52 inches (96%) Clothing/diaper size:3-6 months, OS cloth diapers and size 2 pampers Immunizations: whatever needle they get
This month baby likes: Food, singing, bouncing, trying to sit up, glasses, hair, strings, big brother, her brother's toy cars This month baby dislikes: Sleeping
We had our appt today, finally! (6 months on the 14th)
Height: 25.5" (8th%) Weight: 17lbs 3oz (45th%) Head circumference: 17.5" (80 something %) Clothing/diaper size: 6/9 months-he can get away 6 month onesies, but they're getting tight; size 3 diapers Immunizations: TDaP, PCV13
This month baby likes: His brother, eating, being outside, the exersaucer, baths This month baby dislikes: Seeing his bottle and not immediately getting it, getting dressed, staying in one place for too long
Concerns/Questions: His eyes have cleared up-no peds ophthalmology referral!! Just when we relegated ourselves to believing he'd need surgery, they got better. He still needs the Prilosec very much so. We did an unintended trial off of it this weekend and it didn't go well. Lots of reflux and actual puking after gagging on it. Sigh. He also significantly dropped percentiles for height. Hoping it was just a fluke and that he's got a growth spurt coming.
This month baby likes: eating solids, his toes, sitting up, practicing his sounds, otteroo bath time This month baby dislikes: playing on his back, getting dressed, when mommy blows her nose
Concerns/Questions: DS can now pull himself up to standing from sitting while holding onto our hands. I've trained him to do it on the count of three, which is kinda cool. He still has little to no interest in tummy time, rolling, let alone crawling. I know each kid has their own pace, but I have a feeling we're going to have a very short crawl period in the house and I don't feel prep'd. Also, ugh to baby proofing. Gonna do it but the worst part is teaching DH not to leave trash tidbits around the house and to sweep up the dirts and twigs he tracks in by not taking off his shoes at the door.

Finally had ours today....
Height: 26.75" (79%) Weight: 18 lbs 12.5 oz (88%) Head circumference: 17.5" (94%) Clothing/diaper size: 9 month clothes, size 3 diapers Immunizations: It was two shots and one oral med, I don't remember what all was in them.
This month baby likes: Playing with her feet, putting everything in her mouth, trying food, drooling, pulling my hair. This month baby dislikes: The actual process of falling asleep, not being held.
Concerns/Questions: No concerns and no questions really either. She's sitting on her own now, she still falls over maybe 5% of the time but she's sturdy enough. She's finally holding her bottle as well. I think we're ready to start giving her more food and different kinds. She's really gotten the hang of it lately.

We had ours last week but I keep forgetting to post.
Height: 26 in/54% Weight: 15lbs 1oz /27% Head: 41.8cm/ 35% Size 3 diapers when in disposables. Mostly in cloth. Whatever shots her Dr gave her Likes: her sister, being tickled, squalking, staring at the dogs Dislikes: not being fed immediately, having to work hard for anything (rolling, sitting, tummy time etc)
Concerns: the pedi was concerned about her height and weight. H and I are tall and DD is 98% for height. And her weight keeps going down. She's been getting super frustrated when breastfeeding and I don't know if it's a bottle preference or if my supply is crapping out. I'm mildly concerned that she isn't getting enough milk and am thinking about hiring a lactation consultant to check us out. I never had issues like this with my first kid so it's of course a whole new thing to be stressed about.
It can't hurt to see an LC vavavictoria. They will give her an honest opinion. You are also tall AND thin. What % weight is your DD? Did she thin out over time? Are you getting let downs? Does she gulp milk? I would try to get as much milk in her since it's super calorie dense and then work on adding fat filled foods- like avacado, etc... and then I would take what your doc said with a grain of salt. Not every baby is 50%. And some babies do fall off their curve and are totally normal and healthy. It's something to keep an eye on, but not to worry yourself sick over, imo. Doc sees your kid for an hour. You see your kid all the time- if you have a hunch the kid isn't getting enough food- that's probably a better indicator.
Just had our visit: Height 26.5 inches Weight 17 lbs 11 ounces Head 17.5 All his % were about 50%. Surprising- he is so heavy to me! Almost 18 lbs at 6 months seems huge to me, idk doc. He just started solids so I talked to her about the gagging and the way he spits food out. She said it takes time to learn and keep working and put the food in his palate if possible so he has to put his tongue up there. She mentioned that he might have Pectus Excavatum- basically where the chest bone is sunken in a little bit. I'm not sure what that means - I'm trying to research but if anyone has heard of it, give me the anecdotes. Baby is doing great with his milestones- he sat up and rolled over in front of her. No other concerns at this time but I'm hoping my 9 months he's on table food and not doing the gagging thing anymore.

becole. Thanks for what you said DD1 was a very chunky baby and always and about 75% weight wise. The pediatrician mentioned the fatty food too but I forgot in my BF panic. If it weren't for the evening frustration when feeding I'd probably just say this is how my baby is but bc of that I'm taking it a bit more seriously. She also ate 15 oz from the bottle last night with H while I am out of town. And then slept through the night!

Of course she sleeps through the night when your'e gone. I'm annoyed for you.

That's tough. Maybe an LC can offer guidance on getting your supply up or figuring out how to supplement in some way whether food or formula. Or an extra bm bottle if you have any.

becole DS2 gagged for like 2 years straight. That's helpful, right? He just has a sensitive gag reflex I guess. It took him FOREVER to get the hang of food (and not throwing it up or trying to choke on it). He will still do it every now and then as an almost 3 year old. That might not be what you want to hear - but I wanted to say that gagging at least this first while is fine and apparently even beyond then is fine too.

becole our pedi thought DS1 had pectus. Turns out he was actually sternally retracting and it got better with steroids. Anyway...
When we thought he had it, pedi said it was NBD and could be surgically corrected as an adult for aesthetic purposes if he so desired. It shouldn't affect him in any other way. My nephew actually has the opposite problem (his sternum comes to a point and kind of sticks out) and is also nothing to worry about.
Height: 28.5 in Weight: 20 lbs 9 oz Head circumference: don't know Clothing/diaper size: diapers 4 although moving up to 5 soon. Clothing tops 12 months, bottoms 12 months and 18 months depending on brand Immunizations: pentacle prevnar rotateq
This month baby likes: peek a boo, blowing raspberries, watching sister jump and dance, cheerios This month baby dislikes: separation, strangers
Concerns/Questions: constipation seems to be improving with the Enfamil reguline formula, ok to keep sleep training
Height: 26.5-inches Weight: 14 lbs 13.5 oz (6% and my biggest baby at 6 months!) Head circumference: 44.4 cm Clothing/diaper size: 6 and 9 month clothes depending on diaper type. Size 2 diapers at daycare and cloth at home. Immunizations: All. Why can't they all be oral?
This month baby likes: Everything. So many smiles. He loves when people talk to him and he is easily entertained by his socks and toes. This month baby dislikes: Hunger. That is really the only reason he cries.
Concerns/Questions: Things are going well. We need to increase solids. I may have daycare feed him some mashed foods (I don't think they'll do BLW yet) because I can't find the time to feed him two meals a day. The doctor thought it'd be good for him to be a getting a mix of finger foods and spoon feeding. I do see her point because we strictly did BLW with DD and she was 18 months before she'd eat yogurt or applesauce. There's something to be said about also learning to eat from a spoon.
