I am so frustrated right now. I got up at 4:45 to get ready and leave for our morning flight to BC. We got half way to the city and found out our flight was delayed to 2:00. It's too long to hang out in the airport, so we've turned around and are heading home, and will go back in. This also makes my visit with my brother feel way shorter since our flight home is Monday morning.
We got our nursery furniture delivered today. Of course there was a big gash on the side of the dresser and the finishing on the headboard of the crib is like peeling. H has been on the phone with Babies R Us for 30 min now working in getting it resolved 🙄

bewise, ughhhhh. We had an issue with our crib too. Which one did you get? BRU originally told us no problem and then 3 days later emailed me to say I had to deal with the manufacturer directly. Still dealing with them.

Oh no, I hope that doesn't happen to us too! They said it was no problem and they would replace the whole dresser and the headboard piece for the crib. How long have you been trying to deal with the manufacturer? So annoying.
Last night we had date night and went to a Peruvian place we hadn't been to before, and stopped for ice cream on the way home. We're back to Saturday morning gymnastics, so that's where I am now. Then we have a birthday party, and dinner with friends and their three kids tonight.
Tomorrow a good friend of mine who used to live here but moved to Portland a couple years ago flies in for a week with her daughters and her nanny. This friend is also a coworker so it will be fun to have her around the office next week. My kids will enjoy seeing her kids, and she organized a girls dinner out for Monday night with some other mutual friends I haven't seen in awhile. Only downside is that her husband stayed behind for work reasons and my DH would have liked to see him too.

AFM, DH is out helping a friend work on his house, so it doesn't really feel like a weekend to me. I haven't been sleeping well the last few nights, so by the time lunch rolls around I'm dead on my feet and desperate to get DS down for his nap so I can nap. DS has been extra cute and cuddly this morning, which makes me feel bad about wanting to get away for alone time, but I'm worn out. I feel like this pregnancy is kicking my butt more than the last, but I'm trying to remind myself that this time I'm chasing a very active toddler around all the time.

...that felt like a Debbie downer post. So on the happy side, I took DS to a petting zoo yesterday and while he was nervous at first, he quickly decided that he loved it! He kept trying to talk to the animals by imitating them and he thought it was hilarious to try to herd the ducks and laughed a lot when he saw the goats pooping. He kept telling me he loved the animals, it was adorable

bewise, we have been dealing with the manufacturer for about a week and a half. They will send us a new one, the issue is we are demanding they send it to our house and they aren't sure they will do that.
ihatepizza, the shower was good. I felt "out of body" at times because I couldn't believe it was actually happening for me for this pregnancy for this baby. IF leaves its mark for sure!
We bought our house yesterday! Well at least signed the lines and closed on it, buying will take the next 30ish years. We moved everything in today, really my husband, his co-workers, my dad and brothers moved it all. I directed traffic. Still so much to do but at least now we can do it and start getting ready for this baby for real!!!
We made it to my brother's house! Half a day later than we planned, but we're here! DS's schedule was/is so off. He ended up sleeping for the entire flight (it was only an hour long) so first airplane experience was easy, but that was also his only nap all day when he was up 1.5 hrs earlier than usual and then stayed up 2 hours later. He generally doesn't sleep well away from home, but went down with no problem when I finally got him to bed, so hopefully he sleeps all night. We're sharing a room, so while I'm ready to crawl into bed myself I want to make sure he's good and asleep first.
cateyes amazing news on the new house, I can't believe how fast you moved everything in. Now you have plenty of time for nesting and setting up the baby room

We had some great help. My husband had 4 friends from work and then my dad and 2 brothers came and they all worked like crazy. We started at 7am and were done by 2:30 including getting all the furniture in place.
I can't wait for painting to be done in the nursery so we can really get to work! That's my plan for next weekend!
Ugh, so I just slipped on some sand while walking down a hill and fell hard on the sidewalk- luckily on my butt and not my belly. I'm pretty sure I just peed myself when it happened but of course I'm worried that it was fluid that came out.
I called my doctor's after hours line and the midwife I talked to said unless there's continuous leaking, or pain, and as long as baby is moving normally it's probably fine. Still no fun
Last time around I slipped on the second to last bottom stair, and fell hard on my bottom. I was super worried even though it was better than falling forward. I know they are super protected in there but it's still hard not to worry.
Glad you called your dr though. I didn't and I worried for like a week. Fingers crossed that everything else feels normal tomorrow!
sdlaura, falling is always scary. I fell two weeks before my due date last time on a crack in the sidewalk. I mostly fell on my elbows and knees, but then did hit the side of my belly. Thankfully, they are pretty protected in there, but always gets you worrying.
sdlaura - Scary! Glad you're okay! I don't like falling not pregnant, so was very happy we didn't have much ice this winter. But I'm a huge klutz, so I've got to be more careful about the sidewalks (something I would totally do, PA Mom!).
Weekend was busy but good. We had infant and child CPR/first aid class on Saturday at the hospital. Refresher for me and H since I've taken it before and H is certified (he's a physician). Picked up my e-ring from Helzberg and over 6 weeks later it's FINALLY right. Sunday we had all-day birth class. She teaches based on Birthing from Within, and we really liked it. It was only three couples, so we all were comfortable asking any questions and trying out the pain management techniques, etc.
sdlaura I hope you're not sore from your fall, it's definitely a scary feeling.
We are in the airport waiting for our flight back home. It was a short visit, but it was good and I'm glad we came. DS and I came with my mom, and grandma has been the only person he wants all weekend. I feel bad because my mom has done a lot, but it's also been a nice break for me.
