I live in New England. I woke up to a dusting of snow this morning, but in true NE fashion it's supposed to be in the 70s in a few days. My raised beds are not frozen solid (much to my surprise.) Is it too early for me to plant snap peas? Is there anything else safe to plant this early? There will likely still be frost, and a few nights or even days below freezing are possible. Thanks!
The garden group I am in is always telling people this: you can go ahead and plant it now, but plan on covering things if there is going to be a frost and for the possibility that you may have to replant later. If they survive then you have a jump start on tbe season, if not you can always try again when it is warmer.
