I don't speak health care. Can someone read this and tell me if genetic testing is covered or not? link
Under pregnancy related: genetic testing ... I would still call, even though it's a pain, to make sure the test you want is covered. They may cover one or two genetic tests but not all.

Also, when you go to the link (expanded list here or whatever) and select preventive services for women, genetic testing is NOT listed. Basically, you have to call. There's also a caveat about special billing as preventive care that your practice needs to do on the original link you posted.
I tossed food from the fridge and then sprayed the trash with lemon Lysol.
That's the second time I've done that this pregnancy.
I walked into the house yesterday and made DH and DD collect the trash from all of the garbage cans to take outside while I walked behind spraying Febreeze. I plan on cleaning and washing everything in my house for the rest of the week. DH thinks I'm a liiiiittttle bit crazy.
I have been in the ER at the children's hospital since 6am. He continued to have a fever on antibiotics and then had a 94 temp this morning. We are here until the MRI.
I'm so sorry. I'll be sending lots of healthy thoughts your way.

My guess, and this is just my guess from experience, is that unless you have a reason for the NIPT (advanced maternal age, or previous trisomy, etc.) insurance will typically not cover. It is not a "medically necessary" test. I know that is probably not the answer you were looking for but I would also suggest calling. However, when calling if they say it is covered, I would probably double check that because sometimes they are looking at other testing (quad screening, etc.) and are unaware that it is different since it is still relatively new.
Ugh, guys I am terrible at keeping up here. Work is truly insane right now and I barely have time to pee during the day. I swear, one day, before we have these babies that I will be back to regular posting. I am lurking and keeping up, I just never have time to post.
I am 8w3d and busted out the maternity pants today. Don't care. I just couldn't fathom "buttoning" my pants today. And let's face it, they would only be buttoned for about 10 minutes anyway.
I'll be back if full force soon if you all will have me

I totally get that. I wanted to throw everything away yesterday.
I'm usually fine with leftovers, but I just cannot lately. I'm making DH eat all the leftovers because I hate wasting food but I can't stand the thought of eating them myself.

They are going to discharge him and just monitor. He seems be doing well. Just tired. They told us to come in and the doctors were initially pretty concerned so we did the right thing.
And my new boss is so weird. I told him I was taking leave and why. He responds back that his son has had a stuffy nose. WTF? Yesterday he put me on the spot to talk about my son in our staff meeting. I am like, nope. I sent him an email after to let him know that medical information is confidential in the workplace and what he did was wrong.
I'm glad you're discharged. And your boss is an insensitive prick. I'm sorry.
I had a horrible chicken aversion my whole pregnancy with DD. I only eat seafood and poultry in terms of meat, 90% of my meat diet is chicken. It was hard.
buttercup, I'm glad that your son was released and seems to be doing better. But WTF to your boss! He sounds like a real asshole. How big is your company? Do you have an HR department? Because it sounds like you might need to seek them out.
If you have super irregular periods and no symptoms I could see how you might not know. I would be testing like crazy though lol.
That happened to my mom with me (her first pregnancy). She found out around 4-5 months and says she didn't know because she'd had very irregular periods. It is sort of weird though because my parents had been married for a few years at that point and I think they were trying. Apparently not very aggressively though.
buttercup glad you got discharged and I hope DS continues to do well. Sorry your boss is a total moron.
I no longer eat meat other than fish but I miss chicken the least of any meat. Yuck.
Next doors dog just jumped their fence and came into our garden. Ffs I thought this issue had been settled but they obviously didn't get a tall enough fence!!
I swear if it goes for one of my cats I will go mad. They quite often sunbathe in the garden as they feel safe. Luckily they are both upstairs sleeping.
The dog is friendly enough but not the point. I was in the garden pegging in the washing and saw it jump the fence right at the bottom. Sniffed around and then saw me, came up and wanted to play. Then next door realised it had gone and came and got it, they said sorry. Yeah apologising is all well and good but sort out your fence.

buttercup, man your boss sounds like an ass clown. Sorry you have to deal with that kind of a human for work. glad your son is doing better and in home.

Hey cnf2013 - it depends on how your provider codes the test/visit, but essentially it should be covered under preventative care. Your provider should know how insurance works and code it correctly. Our was covered at 100%

Oh and as @annperkins said, she "found out" at the doctors but on the show they had her take a test because she was gaining too much weight. The fake "omg" was ridiculous.

buttercup, I'm glad your son got discharged and I hope he's feeling better soon Your boss can go suck a fat one. How incredibly rude, inappropriate, and quite frankly, illegal. +1 for speaking with HR sooner rather than later.
fknhostile, I knooooow. I'm sorry for not tagging you lol. New episodes start next week though!

grumpycat88 I'm never too sick to talk TM 😁 I know! I'm excited. I like this season better. I'll just have to record it and watch it the next day cause there is no way I can stay up til 11.

I watch it on demand the next day too. I can't stay up that late either!

Can we do a trashy/reality TV thread? There seems to be a lot of people who watch TM, TM2, KUWTK, Real Housewives, etc. DH won't watch with me, so I have no one to talk to about the shows lmao.
beefinch were the heartbeats different bpm? That's exciting! I don't want to wait 14 days 😂
It's still to early for the doppler to actually count the HBs, but it's still deffo the baby's HB. They didn't sound different, both fast as hell chugging along like horses galloping.

+1 although I think I might be behind being in the U.K. since we get shown the shows a couple weeks later
