What is the EB giving your kids for Easter?  

Do you have any other fun traditions?



DD and DS are both getting new bathing suits, seeds to plant in our porch garden (a yearly tradition), Moana, and Kubo and the Two Strings. I also bought DS a butterfly net, so I may try to find one more little thing for DD. 

Saturday, we are going to a local hunt and my ILs are driving up from FL for the weekend.
The night before, DH and I (mostly I) stuff eggs with candy and change to hide around the house. The kids hunt for them first thing in the morning. This year I'm going to add a special baby themed egg to tell them about the pregnancy. I still need to work this part out. There will be ham and cheesy potatoes for linner. I also need to work on the rest of the menu. Those are the best parts anyway, right?

DD is getting coloring books, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, stickers and other random stuff. There's a local hunt on Saturday, I'm not sure how she'll do since she's only 21 months but we are going to try it out. We will travel out of town that night because her great grandma is turning 85 on Easter Day and the family has brunch reservations to celebrate.

DD is almost 13 months so I didn't get anything edible. Lots of bubbles, books, a doll, sidewalk chalk, and a few little toys.

Sometimes we have a crawfish boil for Easter Sunday but I think we are doing it on Saturday this year. No idea what we will eat instead.

My family have never celebrated Easter. So nothing here. I think as DS gets older I will start doing Easter egg hunts for the kids in my family.

I don't really give DS chocolate, don't want him having sugary things, which I get teased about from my friends lol. So we won't ever do chocolate for Easter, but new books/colouring things. He hasn't got anything from us this year but my Nan has got him some fruit.

I'm with all of you who haven't introduced candy or many sweets yet. DS will maybe get teething biscuits or those baby cheetos in his basket. I also got him some little wooden trucks and an erase-able board/mat thing (similar to a dry erase board I guess?) to draw on. Oh and a stuffed elephant but the noise it makes is so lifelike that I am certain it's going to scare DS so he'll hate it. Oh well.

I think I'll make us a nice brunch and invite my brother over to join us. No egg hunts yet because DS wouldn't be into it (he's 20 mos) but maybe a trip to the park or beach.

I didn't get anything super special for DS. A t shirt, two camelback water bottles that were on sale, socks, and a book.

We are having an egg hunt in our cul-de-sac. I got mini things of play dough and matchbox cars for our eggs because DS gets VERY minimal candy. That's one of two things we limit significantly ... juice is the other one. No candy and no juice lol. He has enough energy without all the extra sugar.

I want to get DS a kite this year. Otherwise we'll probably just do a few other outside toys- chalk, etc. and maybe a swim suit. No candy bc I'm sure he'll get enough from his grandparents.

We are also doing his first egg hunt and I'm excited for that!

We started with a sunflower pot when DD was 2 and it was a hit. We've added a little bit more every year. Last year we planted too late because of our move, so I hope we have more success this year! Our seeds this Easter are tomato, cucumber, watermelon, wildflowers, poppies, basil, rosemary, and a kit that has lavender, chamomile, and lemon balm that I hope will smell heavenly.

Baby and i went to target and got an easter basket of toys and some diabetic "friendly" candies in a star wars bag for my friends who recently lost their dog. I believe we will drop this off sat night. Sunday we are celebrating SO's birthday.

DD is getting a coloring book, a Minnie sun hat, a small chocolate bunny, a few Rapunzel tee shirts, and a new toothbrush. I might pick up a few other things this week like a lollipop or two.

I know the grandparents are getting Big bubbles, colouring books, a prayer book and probably some chocolate.
DD will probably get a bib or something.


I plan to do Easter for DS next year. He'll be almost 4 (so old enough to understand) and DD will be 18 months and Kid the third will be 5 ish months.

DS is getting a new book (one that we got from the library once and he loved, but couldn't find there again), a coloring book, a Mr Potato head and chocolate from his grandmother. I can't believe how much he loves finding Easter Eggs even tho I didn't put anything in them. I love his sense of wonder and joy in little things.

DH don't have kids yet (expecting the first!), but I am traveling down to FL to tell my family the good news. My mom always gives us very nice Easter baskets (from the bunny, of course!) and texted a couple of days ago asking if we still needed them. I told her that was a silly question; how can I have Easter without a basket??? :-)

We still get baskets too. My mom makes us work for them though. We all get a specific color of plastic eggs to find. She puts a raffle ticket in each egg and then the corresponding ticket is taped to the "prize", which are all laid out on the table. There is also a golden egg that is up for grabs by anyone to find that has a really good prize like sporting event tickets.

So I am the least craftiest person in all the land. Today my babysitter gave DD an Easter basket and it's perfect - looks like something you would buy in the store all made up (except that it's not - it's totally catered to DD's likes). I'm sad because my basket on Sunday is going to look so very boring in comparison. Good thing DD is two and won't know better LOL
