How did you do with your goals last week? I don't remember what I said my goals were and I'm too lazy to go back and look. I know I mentioned I was going to be shopping for a new meal plan I'd be following starting Monday, and I did do that. It's been going pretty well so far, I mean, it's only Wednesday. LOL But it has been really easy to stick to and follow.
What are this week's goals? Stick with my meal plan is all I have for this week.
QOTW: What is the best movie you've seen lately? I couldn't tell you the BEST. We just watched The Maze Runner the other night and I thought that was decent.

How did you do with your goals last week? I nailed my goals, which were to track my points on WW for a whole week and (I think) watch the snacking. Well, I tracked my points every day and I limited my snacking. I lost 3.5 lbs.! I'm sure some is water, but still... I was excited I'm also dealing with AF, so I'm even happier to have lost some lbs.
What are this week's goals? Continue tracking points and get some activity in. MH brought up the stepper machine, so it's time to up my Fitbit steps with some mindless stepping during our shows at night.
QOTW: What is the best movie you've seen lately? Hmmmm... that's tough because we rarely get out to the theater. Not too long ago we rented the most recent Avengers and I liked that.

Did well this week with clean eating and exercise, but my upcoming FET is a serious motivator for good habits.
This week's goals are continued clean eating, but sticking closely to the PCOS diet to encourage AF. Cycles have been 40-60 days, and I don't want to wait that long to get started on the meds. Continue with weights, yoga, and cardio.
QOTW: We love our media room, so we are always waiting for things to come out on DVD. Currently waiting for the Hobbit to come out. Recently rented ' Edge of Tomorrow ' with Tom cruise and it had good action with some surprising humorous parts. Enjoyed it!
oldbaylover1024 Yay for losing that much! What do you usually have for healthy snacks? I need to switch mine up and need some ideas. I usually have a handful of nuts or cut up peppers.
Can I butt in even though you didn't ask me?
Today I brought a greek yogurt and lite string cheese for my morning snack and then a protein bar with a handful of nuts for afternoon snack.
I also have been buying those "P3" protein packs at the grocery store, they are near the deli meat and lunchables. They usually have either ham or turkey, some cubed cheese, and some type of nuts. They are around 170-180 calories for the whole thing. I like them a lot!
My other snack has been a whole wheat tortilla wrap with some tuna on it. I get the high fiber wraps and then the flavored tuna b/c it kinda grosses me out.
I didn't get in the exercise I was aiming for last week and this week I'm not doing any better.
Evenings are crazy at our house so I really need to get up and at it before work. I've been so tired the past week that it hasn't happened. I need to cut my excuses and just do it.
My eating has been pretty good. I had green smoothies every day last week for breakfast with two hardboiled eggs. I always crave carbs and sweets when I'm tired so it has been challenging. Luckily I haven't been buying them so I've been good at staying away :-)

unringthebell - I have lots of options, but for me it really comes down to portions and actually measuring food. Plus, I'm on the WW point system, so I usually scan foods and get an idea for points before I eat/buy anything.
Some go-to ideas:
Mini-flavored rice cakes - I like these because a) they're satisfying in the flavor department, and b) I get 8 in a serving. 8 cakes (6 points) plus a fruit (zero points) equals a satisfying, low-cal treat. I like the caramel ones for the sweet factor. Sometimes I spread on some peanut butter for extra protein.
Hummus and veggies -- NO CHIPS! Hummus has a 2 tablespoon serving size and with celery sticks becomes a low-cal, fulfilling snack. Just measure it. Hummus can trick you in the calorie department.
Lettuce leaves instead of tortilla wraps - I found the wraps had too many points for me to waste on a snack (usually between 4-6 points just for the wrap). So I started substituting tortillas with lettuce leaves. Boom! Lettuce is zero points and if I stuff it with my usual veggies - strips of peppers, onions, tomato, and low-cal dressing, I can cut my snack from about 9 points to 2.
Dry cereal - Seriously. So good. A serving of Special K chocolate cereal is about 3 points when dry. I put some in a baggie and eat it at work. This tricks my brain with hand-to-mouth snacking, and I get satisfaction from the crunch. Cheerios are great for this, too.
Hot, black coffee - I like black coffee, so this is easy for me. Usually if I'm craving something around 3 o'clock at work, I'll grab a K cup of decaf flavored coffee (vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, etc.) and drink it black. The calories come from added sugar, creamer, etc. so if you skip that, you have a satisfying sipper to beat the sweat tooth. In a pinch, I'll add a small scoop of low-cal, sugar-free cocoa mix and make a mocha.
Sugar-free candy - Look around your diabetic section of the store. There's lots of good, sugar-free candy options. Eat the serving size and I bet your craving is gone! But don't eat too many... you'll be running to the bathroom LOL
Fruit - grab a banana or clementine instead of chips or popcorn.
I have other ones if you're interested!
EDIT: I also lost some weight this week because I committed to having salads only for lunch. I used to do this and make my own olive oil vinaigrette. The salads are zero points, I don't add croutons or anything like that, and because I make my own dressing it's only 1 point for the oil (which is a good fat). It really helped me this week!

I actually did really well with my goals last week (exercise at least twice, limit sugary beverages, try to take BBQ for a walk when it is nice out). I even tried the Zumba class, but it wasn't as much fun as the other one I took a few years ago. Also, my ovary was achy the whole time so that was a distraction.
This week's goals are the same. I am worried I've hit another plateau in the weight loss department, though. I'm 8 or 9 pounds away from pre BBQ weight, but ideally I would lose a few more to get back to pre infertility/loss weight.
Hmmmm, the last movie I watched (dvd) was 22 Jump Street. It was adequately amusing.
unringthebell I think we have Gone Girl on netflix right now. I'm excited to watch...sometime in the next month.
wifey Pcos diet? Must google. I'm super excited about the upcoming FET. Is that weird?
madameovary, Thank you, and not weird at all. Must mean we're friends
I am not Insulin resistant, but had some hair loss and chin acne due to higher testosteone ( plus the classic ovarian cysts), I had only a few periods a year and rarely ovulated. Cutting out white flour, sugar, white rice & pasta ( sticking to whole wheat), and processeed foods really helped balance my hormones since " lean PCOS" didn't qualify for metaformin.
I put a couple of PCOS books on my iPad that were informative if you are interested in more info. I can get the titles for you in a wee bit.

How did you do with your goals last week? I did terrible. I am searching for a new position in the hospital I work at and had interviews 3 days last week and then I have 3 this week. Between those, pumping at work, and actually trying to get work done I had no time to think about being healthy while at work. And home has been busy too. Isaac is still up a lot so I'm just worn out.
What are this weeks goals? To stay on track. I did do stairs today. And I'm trying to eat better. It's so hard! I wish I had time to exercise but I'm not going to stress myself and add more to my day.
QOTW: what is the best movie you've seen lately? Oh geez, I can't even think of that lol. I blame it on my sleep deprived state!

How did you do with your goals last week? Fairly well. I did manage to cut back on sugar more and only had one soda this week. I also made it to both Zumba classes and took some nice walks. I did not walk every day, but I did walk A LOT over the weekend. I did have a pretty unhealthy dinner on Friday night, but I later regretted the decision to not get the healthier option. I'll be reminding myself of that next time I'm tempted by high fat foods.
What are this week's goals? Zumba Saturday, yoga Sunday (it's free if I go with my mom!), healthy meals, healthy-ish/er snacks, drink more water during the day. I noticed that I weigh more in the mornings when I'm dehydrated or have been drinking sugary things. Also, no pizza this week. DH can have it if he wants, be I'll be having a salad.
QOTW: What is the best movie you've seen lately? We don't watch movies too often anymore. We do more tv shows. But, I did see Big Hero 6 with Lillian last month and very much enjoyed it.
How did you do with your goals last week? I did pretty good! I did Zumba on my wii Thursday since I didn't get to go to class due to work. I also ate much better and I'm down a total of 9 lbs!! I'm so excited! I still need to lose about 8 more lbs to get to my prepregnancy weight but I'm happy with my progress!
What are this week's goals? Same as before but I ordered a Fitbit flex so hoping it comes in and I can start using it. Maybe compete with some of you lovely ladies! Hit me up if you use it!

I would like to start participating in this check in. I gain a lot of weight between two fairly close together pregnancies - two c-sections, grief, and the fact that one of my best friends recently opened a kick ass bakery.
My husband has the kind of metabolism that allows him to eat whatever, whenever.., and it drives me crazy. He's always bringing home treats from the bakery, chocolate, cheesecake (my weakness).. He can ignore anything - whereas I have no self control. I'm begging him to just stop.
It's also the worst of winter here in northern Ontario - with temps as low as -40 on a regular basis, so I can't go stroller walking. I've got postpartum cabin fever. I just want some fresh air and a walk!!
My c-section has been slow to heal, so I'm still on orders to take it easy, but I am trying to walk around the house more and do some extra stretching. Oliver also likes to be soothed by dancing around the kitchen ..which I love!
So, I don't know what my goals are - other than to stop eating so many treats (stop DH from being so generous) and just keep moving more. Sigh.
I do love the inspiration in this thread, so thanks in advance. xo
dragonfly1809 I had no idea you were in northern Ontario! I am in southern Ontario and also going bananas wanting to get out of the house. It's tough trying to get motivated with a newborn with these temps outside, and we are not quite as cold as you guys. I know where you are coming from

Oooo, Southern Ontario has been getting quite the cold and snow beating this year! It's brutal everywhere. I'm in Thunder Bay - right on the shore of Lake Superior.
I can not wait for spring stroller weather. This winter cabin fever is a challenge.
