forevermorgan did you do anything special for the blueberries? We have 2 I need to get in and some things I've read suggest to put peat and mulch in the bottom
DH and I have been driving each other crazy all day.
He wanted to take DS to a state park and the zoo and he really prefers to take DS alone because the two of them travel well together, but since they were going to the zoo, I wanted us all to go and enjoy it together.
Apparently everybody had the same idea and the parking and line at the zoo was so bad that DH didn't even want to attempt. Since we had already driven 2.5 hours to get there, I would have preferred to stay in line, but I didn't want to argue with DH about it and hear him complain, so we left. And DS cried. A lot.
We did have a nice time at the state park so I was glad we went, but I was still grumpy about being in the car for 5 hours and not getting to see an elephant or something.
We timed naps and food and everything wrong and even though they've been in bed for a long time now, DS keeps getting up to go to the bathroom and J keeps waking up and crying. I took a shower and have been wrapped up in a beach towel ever since because I'm too grumpy and lazy to get in my pjs and I'm pretty sure DS thinks it's an invitation for ST, but it's not. At all.
TL/DR: I'm grumpy and have spent too much time in close quarters with my DH and children today. I love them but I want them to leave me the F alone for a few hours.

cornpop311 I did couch to 5k 10 years ago. I remember I had to repeat weeks and running 5 minutes straight was so so so hard and I was so proud when I accomplished that. I called my mom crying I was so happy.
I had always been overweight at that point and was made fun of in gym class etc. Six years later I was running a marathon. The program really is great!
wells2010 did you see your dog eat them? I think it depends on if they chewed them and possibly splintered them. I would probably call the vet. I hope your pup is okay!
You've got this @feegan! If I could pull 13.1 out of my rear last month with only a few random runs longer than 3 miles in my training, you'll definitely be okay.
You've got more running ability and speed in your left foot than I have in my whole body, so I feel very confident you can have a good race even with all those factors

So we had our redo of the case conference. The school agreed (because they had no choice) to re-evaluate dd1. They made it painful though. They went through all the law, I am sure to cover all their bases after I cited part of the law to them.
They also went over all of dd1's academic work. They showed me three assessments to 'prove' she was ready for K. We left the meeting and on the way home her teacher called to say please do not send her to K! She said she is ready academically but that is it. She said she is so shy and quiet she would fall through the cracks easily. She said she strongly felt dd1 needed a year at a private school to grow and develop. She said the year could and likely would make the difference between doing okay and excelling.
I was blown away. She said she was told she could not say this to me. She said they are all about numbers right now. Not cool but I am glad she came to me. Reaffirms I am making the right choice to keep her out a year.
lovemyirishtwins, I hate that they are being so hard to deal with it and it's really messed up that the teacher was told what she could and couldn't say...
I'm glad though that the teacher validated your feelings and decision.

I didn't see her eat them. My dog is bigger (50lb), but I don't think she could have swallowed them whole. I'll call the vet in the morning. She's acting fine for now. She is such a sneak. Peyton left them on her plate and we were in the room the whole time. At least with drumsticks the bones are bigger and not sharp and tiny like a breast or wing. They probably did splinter when she chewed them though.

lovemyirishtwins how absolutely infuriating that they told the teacher not to say anything. I wish there were some way to call them on their utter incompetent bullshit without getting that teacher in trouble. I would think social readiness is way more important than academics.
I'm just impotently seething on your behalf right now. Super helpful, I know.
