Has anyone had one for a young child? Specifically one who will not understand wtf is going on? O has severe OSA and we are deciding what route to go surgery-wise with the ENT. But he also wants him on a cpap and said the apnea will probably never go away.
Anyway, this kid has zero self soothing skills. None. No one else can get him to sleep. He nurses to sleep and nurses in the night if he wakes up. It's already a pain to get him down bc he will wake when I transfer and I have to start over. He doesn't even like being held normally, so if I try and just hold him or rock him he gets pissed. I'm mostly nervous about how that's going to work.
We go see the pulmonologist Tuesday. Is there anything I should ask about? I did hear that someone used meds to keep their kid calm when they first got it.
Of all the things we've dealt with machines were not something that even crossed my mind :/
I have no advice, just sending all of the good hopes that it works okay. That sounds like such a struggle. Sleep is also such an effing hard thing to have to mess with when it's not anyway.
I appreciate it. Hopefully once he's breathing better he'll start sleeping better. I just feel like the adjustment is going to be miserable.
