DS comes home today.
Walked the dog this morning and got groceries, now just waiting for their flight to come in.
I didn't accomplish as much as I had hoped this past week, but it was still good to have the time. I could almost use another week. But I'm looking forward to getting back into the routine.

We've been outside most of the day. We went to breakfast and then the playground. J played outside with the neighbor kids when we got home and we did some packing. Then he refused a nap and is now playing at his water table.
Eventually we need to figure out something for dinner.

It's raining here. We did a quick pre-rain egg hunt with my parents, H's mom stopped by for brunch on her way from an event near us, and we are doing early dinner with H's dad and stepmom after naptime. It sounds like a lot but there's already been a lot of downtime, so it feels relaxed and lazy.
Well, both DH and DD were throwing up this morning. DD was diagnosed with an ear infection yesterday morning at the pedi and it's hell trying to give her her medicine. She hasn't felt well since Thursday evening. I just hope I don't get what they have.
We made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and the adults had mimosas. The girls enjoyed their eater basket. Then we took a late morning nature walk so R could show hubs the tadpoles she discovered earlier in the week. Got back just after noon and the girls played in the sprinkler out front and I got a loaf of bread started. My parents came by around 2 and the girls got more Easter goodies from my mom. Ate a tasty meal of grilled lamb chops and asparagus, basmati rice, and sauteed Brussels sprouts with red onion. And fresh baked bread. Then enjoyed some Apple pie and company. Alex fell asleep watching a show with my mom, so that was the easiest bedtime this week LOL.

We did church and then came home and I made a special Easter lunch, which nobody ate. E went on her nap and the big kids and I went outside to try flying their new kites. DH got home from work a bit early but then left pretty quickly to go play disc golf. I'm trying not to be bummed that he didn't want to spend any time with the rest of us.

We visited the ILs and overall it was nice (with the exception of my rant on the other thread). Because we were traveling and their were threats of bad weather we didn't do any Easter specific celebration (probably the last year we can get away with that). But I kind of wish that we did. I think that she would have enjoyed the whole finding the eggs thing. But we did enjoy some nice outside time when the bad weather didn't materialize. We broke out the outdoor toys and gave M the task of washing them off.

DH took R to the skate park to ride his balance bike this morning. He asked me to come so we brought the dog too. It was warm and really nice to be outside.
Then after nap we went to a friend's house for dinner.
Oh and a notable political think tank guy/author ordered off my website today and I recognized his name. I think that I recognized his name from the politics thread on Parenting, which is cool.

Best part of the day was picking DS up at he airport. He was so excited to see me! (I need to catalog this moment for the next time that he makes me feel like crap)
We spent the afternoon just hanging out -- he dyed eggs while I did some cooking for the week, and then he had a meltdown bc jet lag. But he settled down once I got his dinner in front of him. Now just winding down, hoping for an early bedtime and smooth transition back to the routine.

I know, I was just trying not to let it get me down. He's trying to practice for a tournament and he can't get a whole round in if we go with him, but it makes me sad that what started as a fun family activity has turned into basically the opposite.
Woke up, kids explored their easter baskets (ate chocolate), prepped for big breakfast, hosted big breakfast, hosted egg hunt, A took the kids to their cousin's egg hunt, guests all left, FIL and I joined A/kids at the cousins' egg hunt, home - naps for the kids, other side of the family cousins came to visit and meet our chicks, dinner out with FIL, home - bedtime and baths with hair washing. cleaned up allllllllll the breakfast/egg hunt from twelve hours ago.

I hope he is as supportive of your goals as you are of his.
ovenrack I feel your exhaustion, I am still recovering from yesterday!
Woke up, explored Easter basket, played with bubble blower for a while Went to church Drove 45 min to BFF's MIL's house for Easter dinner had Easter egg hunt with the kids (Nugget had a very good time) Spent several hours trying to keep Nugget from falling down the stairs and breaking knick-nacks. Of course she cried every time I left the room and wanted nothing to do with Daddy. Ate a lot of onion dip had some wine Finally had Easter dinner at like 6:30pm (arrived at 2!), so much food, Nugget ate sooooo much. Must be on a growth spurt. Toddler dance party after dinner Attempted to get Nugget to nap so we could make it past dessert. She pooped and woke up after 20 min. Dessert Finally headed home at 8:45. Soooooooooo tired.
