Do you have a citronella device that you love for keeping mosquitoes away? We had one that worked really well, but it was discontinued. Then we found another that worked great, but the wick burns too fast and it won't stay lit. So we bought another one that sucks at keeping mosquitos away. Then we got a coil that works well, but it's too fussy and a PITA to use. So now we want something that just does the job that it's supposed to do and is easy. I would love to get 3/4 to put around the yard, light every time we come out and then easily snuff and leave in place in the rain/etc when we go back inside. Any recommendations?
If you want super power get a mosquito magnet. Works off propane.
Do those really work? My boss has one (actually three) but his property is too big I think.
My parents have one and when you empty the catch it's full of mosquitos. I haven't spent much time outside at their house to see if there are any left to bite. You can look in it and see if there are any in there.
I had to google that thing and it looks seriously intense.
OR, your boss should plant citronella itself. I really want to do that, but my property isn't very good for it (I don't remember why).
If you have any wetlands though, it may be worth it.
We have a brook in the backyard and the closer you get to it, the worse the mosquitoes get. When I go pick ramps on the other side of the brook I have to dose my clothing in big spray (I've been bitten through my jeans before), but at the house a good citronella candle seems to work (when given about 30 minutes to clear everything out). I wish that I could install something like that at the brook though. I would love to be able to let my older kids play in the brook (and on the other side) without worrying about EEE and west nile.
