Guys...because I'm a sucker for punishment I decided to try on a pair of shorts I bought after having dd1. I loved them, but they've never got well since. THEY FIT!! My mind is blown! I really thought things had changed forever. Workouts pay off guys. Hang in there.

Re ST dizzycooks, DD still has a 3-4am wake time too. I haven't had the guts to deal with it. So you are just letting her CIO? How long usually till she falls back asleep? Our worst hours are after that point because even if DD does fall back asleep she is literally up every hour until wake up time. 😡

dizzycooks, nice on the shorts! I'm down about 15 lbs compared to last summer, so I *should* be able to fit better in some of the pants that were uncomfortably tight then, but I'm afraid to try. Luckily it's not shorts weather here yet, so I still have some time to lose more. I'm going to be pretty demoralized if they're still very tight (this is comparing post-3-baby body to post-3-baby body. I'm not even going to look at my pre-DD1 stuff...).

First day back at work went well. It's still Easter break here, so a lot of people are on vacation with their families. I need to get used to switching from my freelance mindset, though!
Lollipop crabby toddlers are so hard. They are unreasonable! I hope you made it to bedtime without too much craziness. Sometimes throwing food at them helps.
I gave her a bottle of milk and she chilled a bit.
I guess I forgot to mention to H that I was cutting back on M's bottles. She was on her third after waking up this morning when I got up. Oh well. I'll tell him later.
As soon as he gets home from taking S to school and running an errand, I get to go pick up my cheque from jiffy lube, go to the bank, and apply for more jobs. I think I'm going to try some of the littler towns near here.
Dh just left with the biggest! Just me and the littles. We are going to the zoo and church then I have a friend coming after bedtime. Tomorrow my mom offered to have us over for dinner so I'm doing that and I am tutoring for an hour. Hopefully dh will be home in time otherwise my neighbor agreed to watch the kids for an hour. Happy weekend y'all!

Quiet Saturday here. DS isn't feeling great so he's calmer than usual. I'm running to Ikea (alone!) in a bit to get a few things to redo the playroom. We need more organization in there now that there are toys for 2! DD is swinging before it gets too hot outside
We're at my mom's for the day. S is behaving himself really well so far. M is so cranky. I think she's just frustrated that we don't understand what she wants.

aaand DD2 started puking this afternoon. DD3 is still on her antibiotics from her strep and we're already on to the next illness. As is always the case when one of the kiddos throws up, I'm now going to be on edge either until everyone has had it or until it has been 2 weeks since the last person had it. Sigh. So, am I going to have to call in sick *again* on my second week back from maternity leave?
ETA: Did I mention she threw up all over our new couch? That is 3 weeks old? Yep. Double sigh.
More snow 😭 we're going to my BFF's house for lunch and a play date. We were going to take the kids to the park, but there's like 3 inches of snow, so I doubt we'll be going outside. I'm stopping for coffee on the way, but I'm not sure what I'm going to get for myself. I can't do coffee unless I want a migraine tomorrow. Maybe hot chocolate...
dizzycooks it's awful. When it's nice, it's really nice, like we usually hit about 30 degrees in the summer. It's just our ridiculous winters/springs that get to me. It gets super cold and we have snow sometimes until the middle of May. I'm so sick of it. Hopefully this will be the last dump we get this year.

Hey guys, I could use some good thoughts and prayers. My mom is headed to the hospital with a blood clot and they don't know what caused it or where exactly it is.

She's home. They said she needs to elevate it and ice it and it should resolve in a week. Sounds nerve racking to me, but at least she's not hospitalized. I'm D O N E done with the day. I am completely without motivation and exhausted.

AW'ing progress on the playroom. I took the train table I made DS when he was little out and added better storage. The train table took up so much room there was no room to play. And also too much stuff. I still have several boxes of toys I need to go through and will either store or get rid of. I need to add some shelves to the wall and some art and I'll be done. I was hoping to do a reading canopy/nook but sadly just not enough room. So now it is officially DS and DD's playroom. 😊
Before (don't judge! I gave up on keeping it picked up when I decided I was redoing it)
We are going to be losing our playroom when we move and I'm halfway stressing out and halfway looking forward to purging toys like a madwoman.
Also - we have one of the same chairs and it's pretty much dd2's favorite thing. I was sitting in it the other day while I was playing with dd1 on the floor and dd2 walked in like WHAT... and made it clear I was to immediately vacate her spot. Ha.

scorpioscuba The playroom looks great! I love the cubby storage. I put bins in the top of J's and left the bottom open with toys he can just pull out and it works so well for him.

NellieOleson I don't have a playroom. I have a play wall.
This whole wall is basically toy central. Books on top in the gutters that I don't want him to get a hold of. Puzzles and board books on top of the cubby. The bins hold sets of toys. The cubbies on the bottom are standalone toys that he yanks out at will. I dutifully put everything back before every nap and bedtime. Walkers get parked in front every night. Walkers get parked in front (ETA so nice, I said it twice...? Apparently I need more coffee).
He honestly probably needs a quarter of the toys he has, but I try to rotate the stuff in the bins for him to keep it fresh.
