My baby is snotty and the last two nights had diaper blow outs. We tried food on Sunday but he was not into it at all. Almost seems like because I just fed him, he didn't want it. But I know you are supposed to nurse first. Anyone else waiting like an hour after nursing to feed food?
becole, our schedule is that DS typically wants a bottle before a nap. Then he wakes up, we give it half an hour then food and he takes it pretty happily. No clue what daycare is doing though. I think bottle then food. We've also been having diaper blowouts - DH had 3 on Friday when he was watching the kiddo. We went up to S3 diapers as a result.
DS still has a cold, and how I have it as well. I am at work because I used up all my sick leave two weeks ago on my flu. So not catching a break in the illness department. I think DS is improving though cause he only woke up once last night with a big coughing fit at 2:30am. Much better than the four wake ups the night before. He's at daycare again now.
Wishing this week was already over. DS has his 6mo appointment tomorrow, then I have two day-long seminars on Wed/Fri. Trying to network while being a walking plague carrier will be unpleasant.
We bought a second car over the weekend because I need DH to finally help with daycare pickups. I can't keep doing evening telework. Went with a Honda CR-V. We're pretty pleased.

We only started last week and I do wait a little bit before feeding him.

becole DS has no schedule whatsoever so I just sit him down to feed him solids when it's convenient for me. Sometimes breakfast sometimes dinner time. He really isn't very interested.
This weekend was exhausting. My brother was in town so we had company all weekend. I feel like I spent the weekend feeding everyone and dealing with a very hyper DD.
Roofers should be showing up soon. So we are heading out for the day. Playdate with DD's friend at a play place this morning and I've got lots of random errands to run.
htle07 I hope your sleep situation gets better! becole I have a snotty baby over here too. I usually wait about an hour to feed her solids after BFing and that seems to help. macaronmama hope you both feel better soon!
DS is feeling much better today. My MIL is down watching the kids since my mom is out of town. It's nice when she gets to come down since she doesn't see them as often. Its a holiday today so all of my friends are off, but I am working. Banks are still open on Patriot's Day boooo! DD has a super snotty nose lately and is having some trouble settling herself at bedtime. I'm hoping once her cold clears up that she goes back to her normal sleep.
Weekend was busy. Went to my parents last night for dinner, now that they're back from vacation. My poor Dad, he's in the middle of his basement reno and they came home to a flooded basement. He had to rip out all the new floors and cut 8 inches of drywall all the way around. Suffice to say i bought him a case of beer as an Easter present.
Today I'm just doing laundry as I get ready to head back to work. DH is home now, he helped me clean yesterday and is looking after the kids today. I'm so pissed off though, DD was scheduled for a Dr's appt this am. Get there, they're closed. And they don't open till 9am tomorrow, so who the hell knows when her appointment is.
Oh hey - it's my birthday - it's the third anniversary of my 29th birthday!
becole, I feed DS when it's easiest for us. On the weekends that usually means I'll try at breakfast and again at dinner. I've been nursing him around 5:30/6pm and then trying solids around 6:30pm. Nurse again before bed at 7:30 pm.

Nothing too notable happening around here. DS1 starts a session of swimming lessons tonight. He's excited so I hope he doesn't get nervous when it's time to get in the water. He hasn't been in lessons since before Christmas. My husband gets to take him so I have to deal with DD's meltdown when DS1 gets to swim and she doesn't. Yay.

I came to work with spit up on my shoulder and Easter grass in my shoe, so that's how my day is going. We got home from my cousin's around 8 last night. Both boys slept past 6 this morning because they were so tired. G was a little spitty this morning, and I had to change his jacket before we left. He then spit up on his teacher when I dropped him off. N has a cold, and his upper lip is all chapped from the runny nose. He has picture day on Thursday because of course. I'll take the boys to Moe's for dinner, since we have nothing in the house for dinner. MH said he would go grocery shopping with the boys tomorrow.

becole, we do solids in between feedings. I tell DC to give him his oatmeal between the second and third bottles, so around lunch time. At home, he usually nurses or gets a bottle between 4:30 and 5, and has solids when we have dinner around 6. If he has oatmeal in the afternoon, he has it whenever MH and N have lunch.

It has been an insane workday, and I'm leaving early for DS2's 6 mo appt. We found a tick on DS1's shoulder last night, which scares me because of the prevalence of Lyme disease. Hopefully he is fine.
I hope to play catch up with everyone here this evening!
becole - We also do solids in between bottles. DS has breakfast, lunch and dinner and bottles throughout the day. We always wait at least a hour or more after a bottle before feeding him solids. Otherwise he's too full and will start spitting up.
htle07 - I'm sorry about the crap sleep. I hope it improves quickly!

I don't even remotely pay attention to when I do these things. He gets food when we are eating meals (if he seems interested and I'm up for the mess) and nurses on demand.
I think eventually I'll be breezy with food but since he wasn't interested at all, I was thinking maybe I didn't do it right. He wouldn't open. A few bites went it and he looked perplexed and then wouldn't open his mouth.
I wish the rain would exit the forecast this week. The painter is powerwashing/prepping the house today, but then it's supposed to rain Wednesday through Saturday. That gives me the sads. I want my house to look pretty. I only had time to put one coat of paint on one of my front doors on Saturday afternoon. It definitely needs a 2nd coat, but I love it! I can't wait to do the other door this weekend because that's the main door that you can actually see (the other one's mostly blocked by the storm door).

+1 to this. I feed him solids if we're eating something that is easy to give to him and I have time to deal with the mess. That's usually about once a day. I don't worry to much about when that falls relative to nursing or bottles.
On my list of things to do sometime this week is to make some purees to send to daycare. I'll probably just ask them to feed him once a day to start, at whatever time works well for them. I assume they will probably do it as "lunch".
Gorgeous weather today. My in-laws left this morning then I took the girls to daycare so I could get my last stupid mole re-excised. Ready to be done with all these follow-ups. I did get to eat lunch and watch a little Netflix before I picked up the girls to head to O's 6 month check-up. She was a champ with the shots. He also thinks she has seasonal allergies but says he wouldn't do medicine for it at this age.
Happy birthday jcrewgirl! We had friends over this am And spent some time outside this afternoon. I gave dd2 steamed sweet potato pieces. She made such a mess. I did not prep very well. I'm having such a hard time divvying up my attention between the two. And they are both showing it more lately. I put dd2 to bed without the Merlin last night because it was still damp from being washed. She didn't sleep any worse than nornal, still up 4 times, so I kept her out of it tonight. I kept her out of it for naps though and those went right back to 30 minutes. So I dunno whether to push through or go back to Merlin to naps or back for everything. I just want to sttn. I've given up my nightly ice cream that I've had legit for 5 years. I am so unhappy with my weight. I weaned myself down tonight by having some chocolate chips, lmao. I tried switching it out with tea last night but I had to pee a billion times overnight. Alright I'm sure that's all more than anyone wanted to know. I can't believe it takes me until 9 pm someday to post here. :/
sanibel21 I was in a habit of dessert every night for a long time. Just recently I broke the habit and was having very little sugar. My in-laws left super fancy chocolate and a whole cheesecake. Back to desserts!
I had a horrible evening with the toddler. She was whiny and obnoxious and pushing all my buttons. Right before bed she leaned over and whispered in my ear 'you'll always be my best friend.'
Omg fem heartbreakingly sad and heartbreakingly adorable of your toddler. It's insane how hard this toddler stuff is.
They are certainly good at pushing you to the brink of insanity before doing something ridiculously cute reminding you of why you are doing this parenting thing.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! No birthday would be complete without a trip to the pediatrician for some random rash on DS's torso. Luckily, the doctor gave me the best birthday present of all...a note for him to go back to school today!
*most likely an allergic reaction to something - Benadryl for the win which also meant he slept from 7:30 pm - 4:00 am!
