How was everybody's weekend? First easter living near the ILs so the kids got ridiculously spoiled. So much so that I've put chocolate away and still was able to remake 4 little baskets that I'm going to offer up to any families in need who's kids didn't get anything for Easter to come pick up. What would I do with that much chocolate?
DH's boss offered him longer phone time once a week so I'm happy about that. By the time the kids talk to him 30 mins goes by quickly.

Dh told me a star he heard last week that Halloween has 2.1 Bil worth of candy sold, but Easter has 2.3Bil sold each year. I had no idea Easter was such a candy centered holiday!!
It was fine. DD went to ILs while we went to church and they had her make us a card which was sweet. Then they came over for dinner. DD is still asleep but I think that's partly from a short nap, excitement, and she is getting canines and woke crying and signing she hurts. 😩

What's the sign for potty? We had such luck with that I might try to add it in.

Close fist with the thumb tucked between the index and middle finger and then shake it. (You might want to google since I don't know how well that reads! Ha)

What is with the poop talk these days, ppl??!
My contribution is that C came up to me this wknd and said "poo" after he had gone in his diaper. I take that as a good step that he's showing an awareness and a desire to not be wearing a dirty diaper.

Everybody poops! 😜
I took DD signing potty as a great first step in awareness of it too. These kids are growing up so fast!!

This weekend was exhausting. Saturday we went to my cousin's house and I announced to my family that we're expecting. I got E this cute Easter themed shirt and after everyone finished congratulating me, my cousin announces she's expecting too! Yeah I stole her thunder.
Sunday DH and FIL roasted a lamb at my parent's house. DH and ILS wanted E to stay outside while the lamb was roasting. He would have none of that. He was scared of it. Oh and baby does not like lamb.
Easter was good - we were smart and planned my mom's for Saturday and the ILs for Sunday this year instead of trying to cram them both in yesterday. Weather was glorious and of course we sort of messed up F's sleeping schedule but not too bad and he was a champ.
I kind of feel like F is a good month behind all the babies here. Not to the point that I'm concerned but just so that I know what's coming , lol. We are just starting to get consistent signing (milk, more, all done, food) -- I'll have to try and add the potty sign too. He tries to sneak away once he poops since he hates having his diaper changed so I'm not sure how that will work.
We had my grandma and her husband over for Easter and my dad drove up as well. I actually managed to make supper and have everything finish cooking at the same time so I was amazed with myself. We kept the amount of candy to a minimum but G still managed to eat a bunch - grandparents are bad with that!
I'm amazed by all your littles and their "poop" signing. My seems quite content to sit in his filth still.

Isn't he the end of Nov? I feel like a good chunk of the babies in our group are late Oct/early Nov, so he very well could be a month younger than a lot of these kiddos!

I had to pick up C early from DC today. They were saying he was showing signs of pink eye. His eye is not pink, it doesn't seem to bothering him, there is no eye goop 😑 As fellow DC moms know, I will have to take him to the pedi tmrw and get a note saying he's cleared to return. Not thrilled.

Ugh. 2 reasons we left a center for home care. 1- money, 2- this. DD1 always had an ear infection and in between she'd have a mild fever from teething. We couldn't keep up with the time off work. So annoying.
Easter was good. Although our church service was weird. They had a casket brought up on stage and then the preacher talked about people close to you dying. I could barely hold it together because my grandmother died a few weeks ago. I had to work so hard to keep myself from ugly crying that I was physically exhausted the rest of the day.
The kids had a blast though. We went to friends house for dinner which was nice since we don't have family near us.

winogirl (I had to scroll up to remember your sn lol) I think every kid moves at their own pace!! Emmas not really telling us when she goes potty. It has been by chance that we ask her, she says yes and she pees. Sometimes she doesn't want to and I'm OK with that. But over the summer I am definitely interested in vaguely PT

DD's signing really took off a few weeks ago. Before that it was just a few she would do consistently. And the potty sign is new, not consistent and she still hates diaper changes 90% of the time!! All kids go at different paces, but I also didn't want to make you think my kiddo was on the track for PT. Small victories

Agreed! Totally at their own pace. If you dare take off my daughters diaper while she is standing, she will smile and bend slightly over and pee on floor. She TOTALLY knows she is doing it and enjoys the fact I swear. But if we place her on potty knowing she is aware of what she is doing she screams like we set her on fire.
I don't plan on potty training until she show interest or at least until around 2. I learned with my first not to push or worry. He was the last kid in his preschool class to be potty trained lol And even now will not poop at school and will hold pee as long as he can so he can go at home
Easter was good. My mom is visiting (it's the first time she has visited since DS was a newborn). We did a few outings - a daytrip to the mountains, farmer's market shopping, park, a day at the zoo. Grandma is exhausted.
DS is starting to say a lot of words. He doesn't pronounce things right, but I'm starting to be able to understand him. He is obsessed with music videos on youtube and constantly puts the remote in my hands and says "a sano" for "a song".

We had a good Easter, both girls got pretty spoiled but this year it was coloring & activity books and stuff for outside so that's good.
We aren't really doing a whole lot of talking here and we are nowhere near ready to start thinking about potty training. DD1 didn't fully grasp it until she was 3 and she seems to have done day and night at once so I'm not going to push it or stress as much this time.

It hits me randomly and I break down and ugly cry. I just couldn't handle seeing that casket being brought up the isle and on stage. It was just too much.

Thanks, (hugs) to you too! Losing family sucks! I'm so sorry you lost your grandmother too.

That is really intense. I'm so sorry, my mom passed a few years ago and it always catches up with me during holidays.

I will be curled in fetal position when my mom dies. She fought breast cancer when I was really young. She was diagnosed when I was 8 and was told she only had 5 years to live. I'm 32 (almost 33) and she is still here. She ended up having to get a double mastectomy though. I'm sorry you lost your mom. I think that is way harder than losing a grandparent.
