It describes SnapType, an app that allows students to photograph worksheets with their iPad and type answers right there on the screen. It also stores them better than loose papers.

I know a kid who uses it occasionally. He's high school age and part of a homeschool charter, so most of his work is more differentiated than would be in a traditional mainstream setting. He doesn't do worksheets so much.
He also uses Inspiration software for essays. Kidspiration is the version for younger kiddos.
Thanks. This looks better than the complicated apps we are using now.
I haven't used it and can't vouch for it, but they made it sound very useful and simple. And free.
I got SnapType approved by my district for three of my students who use iPads for assistive technology for writing. Put it on their iPads today. The free version only saves 3 documents but the full version is only $5, so no problem. Thanks for talking about it. I read the same magazine, but seeing the app here made me pay attention. 🙂

I emailed it to my kids OT and his ASD teacher. ASD teacher had no response; OT replied to me (cc:d ASD teacher) that she loves the app and has coached all staff at DS's school about using it. I feel like she was making a point. We had a long convo about worksheets during his IEP 4 months ago and no one mentioned using this app- perhaps before it came out? DS only has "passive" minutes with OT that are supposed to be carried out by his team.
