What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby is pretty much birth length, the size of cauliflower
Name? Undecided
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope
Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling some discomfort on the sides of my belly where baby is really stretching.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I still don't think baby is consistently back to head down after flipping last week. I would like it to settle in and stay there.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Haven't bought much because I am waiting for my shower.
Have you done anything new to prep for baby lately? Moved the cradle up to my bedroom. Also set up a bookshelf with baby's books.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Yoga, stretching
Anything you want to add?
GTKY: what is your favorite appetizer Probably chips and guacamole

How far along are you? 32 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby is the size of a deerstalker hat or hard hat.
Name? Ellie
Any upcoming appointments this week? My first NST and an ultrasound on Friday afternoon.
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really...
Rants/Raves/Questions? Whyyyy must she push on my bladder so oftennnn...
What is the last thing you bought for baby? I bought a couple 12-month rompers at Toys R Us because I had a couple gift cards and didn't want to resist. I'm trying to decide if I should wait for my sprinkle (likely mid-May) to see how many diapers I get or just buy some. If DD is anything like DS, she will be in NB size for months and we'll need a lot.
Have you done anything new to prep for baby lately? I have started packing her bag for the hospital. This includes breastfeeding supplies.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Nope.
Anything you want to add? I got my Target completion coupon in my email today! How are we that close?!
GTKY: what is your favorite appetizer? Spinach & artichoke dip with pita bread or pita chips.
30+3 Fattening up, size of a motorcycle helmet. Lincoln or Weston 30 week appt Thursday Baby's movements are starting to be uncomfortable sometimes. When I lay on my right side, he loves to shove his ass as far into my ribs as possible. I've also started having (normal for me but usually much earlier) painful and pretty regularly bh contractions for hours on end. I was gifted some diapers and a few other goodies by h's cousins, but we haven't bought anything recently. No prep. We don't have room. Nothing for myself. I am exhausted. Ooh I love anything with queso or fried pickles.

What's new with baby (size, development)? half gallon of milk, packing on pounds
Name? TBD. Likely Katherine or Samuel. DS's name is Griffin and he told us over the weekend that whether it's a boy or girl, baby's middle name should be Griffin
Any upcoming appointments this week? Had my 32-week yesterday. It was happily uneventful.
Any new symptoms or changes? More swelling. My last flights are tomorrow and Thursday and I'm not looking forward to them, but will be glad to be done.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Do other people switch to weekly appointments at 35 weeks? That was my recollection, but yesterday the receptionist said they're now doing weekly starting at 37 or 38.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Only sort of for baby, but yesterday I bought a new slimmer carseat for 4-year-old DD, so we can fit three across in DH's small car.
Have you done anything new to prep for baby lately? Not really. I feel like I'm in a holding pattern until like 35 weeks or so when I'll get more baby stuff down from the attic, clean everything, and pack my bag.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? Last Friday DH and I took off (well, his office was closed) and sent the kids to preschool. We went on a lunch date and relaxed together, which was nice.
Anything you want to add?
GTKY: what is your favorite appetizer? Maryland crab dip!

sdlaura, my appts were 4-5 weeks, now are more like 3 than 2, at 36.5ish I start weekly appts. My OB told me at my last appt that research is showing as long as everything is going well the previously strict guidelines are becoming more relaxed.

sdlaura - I had an appointment at 31 weeks, next OB visit is at 35, then another one at 37 weeks. My NSTs start this week (32 weeks) and will be weekly from here on out.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Regular appointment on Thursday
Any new symptoms or changes? Bending over to pick things up is noticeably more difficult than a week or two ago. Thankfully I'm almost done with the branches on my lawn, only one more section to go.
Rants/Raves/Questions? 8 weeks seems so close mentally, but physically it feels like ages!
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Nothing this week
Have you done anything new to prep for baby lately? Nope
Did you do anything for yourself this week? I ordered some new nursing bras/clothes that will hopefully arrive soon.
Anything you want to add?
GTKY: what is your favorite appetizer? I have a weakness for chicken wings
trebletrouble13, out of curiosity, are the NSTs routine for your doctor, or are they related to a specific concern?
I think they are because I am technically high risk due to my hyperthyroid. I didn't remember starting them weekly this early with my last pregnancy, but I did have a different provider. DS aced all his NSTs and I have no doubt that DD will too.

I am hyperthyroid too!! Graves' disease, although I've had the radioactive iodine so my thyroid now runs low.
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015

Graves' disease here too! I figure radioactive iodine is in my future, but I am still on oral meds. It has always been fairly easy controlled with just those and I am asymptomatic 99% of the time.

That used to be me, I was diagnosed as a child and controlled on medication most of my life and barely gave it a second thought. I had the iodine 5 years ago and for about a full year after I regretted my decision so badly, until I finally was able to get on the right dose of medication for a low thyroid. I still don't know if I'd do it again if I had the chance.

I'm glad they were able to get you on the right dose for low thyroid, but I'm sorry it took a year. I will keep your experience in mind the next time my endocrinologist suggests iodine.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Honeydew melon and getting bigger each day
Name? We are completely lost on the name now. I feel like we are back to square one.
Any upcoming appointments this week? None this week. I have one next week though. Almost at weekly appointments!
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. Sleeping is definitely harder lately. I actually have had a burst of energy this week and have been getting a lot of things done. Nesting maybe?
Rants/Raves/Questions? Everywhere I go people stop and ask me how much longer I have until baby. This has always bugged me. I'm getting so much attention on my large bump and I wish people would just need questions/comments to themselves.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? Size 1 and size 2 diapers. That is probably all I will buy until she is here.
Have you done anything new to prep for baby lately? Made up the guest bedroom/baby room for my MIL for when she stays with the kids when I'm in labor. Started organizing/putting away DD and DS's winter clothes. Just getting more done around the house that I won't want to do with 3 kids. I'm planning on cleaning out the carseat/baby bouncer and finding my pump and nursing tanks in the basement today. Did you do anything for yourself this week?
Anything you want to add? Just getting anxious and a bit nervous about the baby. I keep thinking I have so much time but really, this baby could very well be born next month/in a few weeks. DS is really shy and super clingy to me and I'm getting worried about how he will feel when the baby is here.
GTKY: what is your favorite appetizer? Chips and salsa
Had our 32 week appointment and an US to check for growth and a BPP due to the GD. Baby is measuring right on track at 32+5 (I am 32+3). Head is measuring a bit big but is also in the head down position so apparently it's hard to get accurate measurements. He weighs in at 4lbs 13 ounces give or take some ounces! He is on track to be a 9 pound baby!!! 🤔Next appointment in 2 weeks for NST/BPP/check and then we move to weekly appointments!!!
Question for al the STM+ -If he is in fact born at 9lbs, would he fit in newborn clothes or go straight to 0-3? Thanks!!!
cateyes, yay for a great scan!! My baby DD was 8 lbs 9 oz and still wore newborn for a few weeks. Plus, at this late stage weight guesses are notoriously inaccurate. Growth scans estimated that she would be over 10 lbs at birth and she was less than 9 at 40 weeks on the dot. You could very well be having a big baby, but I wouldn't change how you prepare/what clothes you buy based on those estimates

My DD was 9lbs 4oz. The newborn outfit I brought for her was snug, so I put her in 0-3. We had a few newborn sleepers that I stuffed her in at home, but really we were in 0-3 immediately. FWIW, they told me she was measuring 6lbs 5oz at 35 weeks (LOLZ no) and that she was probably going to be an 8lber when i was admitted to L&D at 40+5.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a coconut/foam finger
Name? TBD
Any upcoming appointments this week? Next week
Any new symptoms or changes? As mentioned in the TMI thread, going #2 more often. More gas. Also saw the first swelling in my foot yesterday, but I injured it over the weekend so that's not helping. Acne has slowed down majorly (woo!), but I still have the redness/bumps which might be rosacea. I'm used to it.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant - Tripped for the first time this weekend. Last stair coming down from the train. I had a hand on the rail so it slowed me down, but I rolled my ankle and skinned my knee. My H said it was the softest fall he's ever seen, so I did well? Ankle was sore and stiff but manageable. Then swelled up that night and the next day. It's still sore today with lateral movements, so no tennis this week.
Rave - All the big things we needed for baby have been bought as gifts! We are so lucky. Also, we saw Hamilton on Sunday and it was just as good as everyone says.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? I need to buy a coming home outfit, just can't decide which one. Also about to buy a new point-and-shoot camera because I won't want to lug my DSLR around with all the baby stuff all the time.
Have you done anything new to prep for baby lately? Piled up boxes in our room. Started reading The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. Kegels. Squats.
Did you do anything for yourself this week? I took Monday off to work on some personal projects at home and just ignore my insane work environment.
Anything you want to add? I can't believe it's single digits in weeks until my EDD.
GTKY: what is your favorite appetizer? Why are the food ones so tough? My pregnancy craving has turned out to be queso, so maybe that? I also just love cheese in general. I make a pizza puff app for parties where they're in mini muffin pans. So easy and tasty.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nothing until Monday 4/24
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. My hips are starting to feel it and sleeping is getting a little uncomfortable. LO was breech, but has since turned head down. Although I almost feel like he has turned again. I think he will still flip around in there for a week or two.
Rants/Raves/Questions? So, I got in a car accident last Wednesday. It was stop and go traffic on a major highway and the 20 something year old guy behind me wasn't paying attention and slammed into the back of my car. Luckily I drive a large SUV and I was alone in the car (no DD), but it was still a huge production when they saw I was 8 months pregnant. Fire trucks, ambulances, the whole bit. MY BP was high at the scene (159/85) but I refused the ER trip after calling my OB. LO is moving around there and I feel fine, so we are ok. But my poor brand new car has $8,000 worth of damage that will take 4 weeks to repair. Just what I need right now.
What is the last thing you bought for baby? A cute outfit because I have no self control with tiny people clothes

I got a prenatal massage, a facial and a wax. It was a nice spa day treat.
Guacamole or mozz sticks or nachos. Love me some apps. And now I'm ready for lunch.
lulu783 wow, so glad you're ok! Sorry about the hassle. I guess at least it was really obvious who was at fault and hopefully the guy has insurance? I somehow have managed to get hit twice in two different states by people with no insurance.
And marshian, sorry about the fall but glad you caught yourself! I hope it heals quickly.
cateyes - Glad you had a great scan! Everything I've heard says the size estimates are nowhere near consistent enough to be seen as accurate. So take it all with a grain of salt.
lulu783 - Glad you're okay! I will give an anecdote of caution: I have a family friend who was in a similar accident at 40 weeks pregnant and her MW had her do some bloodwork in the ER to see if baby's blood was mixed with hers. From what they learned, they called her back immediately and started an induction because they were concerned about baby's health. It doesn't hurt to get checked out. Maybe your provider can do it in the office?

.....and cue me freaking out
Sorry! Most likely you're fine and baby is fine. With my friend, they actually sent her home (more than 30-minute drive) because they were so sure the bloodwork would come back with no issues. They said it's not very common. But I'm in the better-safe-than-sorry camp about all this kind of stuff.

marshian, jealous of you seeing Hamilton! Last night I was craving queso while eating tortilla chips. I probably haven't had queso in over 5 years! Hope your ankle is feeling better too.
lulu783, omg so sorry about the accident! Glad everything is okay except the car.

I hear you! I am too, but I took my OB on call's word that I should be ok at home unless I have any physical symptoms (bleeding, cramping, odd discharge, lack of movement) or general anxiety and want to get checked out. I'll give them a call now.
