Never tried it but have heard it can work well for some hair types. I have told myself that 2017 is the year I master the wash and go, so I may try it out. So far my two strand twists and twist outs have matured so I am looking for new styles.
This is late but. . .I make my own flaxseed gel. I love the stuff to the moon and back. My hair is really fine textured and used to lose curl easily when touched/manipulated. Flaxseed gel changed that game (and protein but that's another story) up to the point that I started being able to get more days out of my wash and go.
It's also economical for me- I buy a ~1lb bag of flaxseeds for $1.15-1.20. It usually lasts me at least a year. I make batches about once every month or two depending on how much I make and how fast I use it up. I freeze any gel that I'm not going to use in the week or two after I make it in ice trays, then defrost individual cubes as I need them. I've been doing this for about 4 years now.
