Headed to surgery in a bit. Time to get rid of this cancer. That red spot you see is it, and the scar behind it is my old cancer removal from 2013. Wish me luck!
Working from home today. It's gloomy and rainy but that's ok.
DH and I have our first counselling session tonight and I'm a bit nervous. I'm not really sure what to expect. Does anyone have any experience with this that they'd be willing to share?
Cloudy and gloomy day here too. C was a beast this morning. Literally EVERYTHING I did from offering her milk to picking out her clothes 'NOOOOOO I DONT LIKE THAT' followed by a meltdown.
Ugh. This.
J picked up the phrase "No, I don't care!" from one of the kids at DC (DCPs son, to be honest) and we've been trying to explain to him that it is not nice to say that to us. Sometimes he gets it, sometimes he doesn't. It's super fun.

Good morning ladies! Good luck lgsdesigner Today is pretty ordinary. G and I are hanging out at home. It's gloomy outside so no outdoor play time. After MH gets home, I will go to work. I was going to go in last night but I changed my mind.

I'm a child therapist, so I might be able to answer questions.
I would expect the first session to focus on the history of what brings you in and what you want to work on.
My appointment was good. I like this midwife practice, which is perfect since I wasn't a huge fan of my old OB office and we're TTC starting this cycle!
We had a late morning thunderstorm but now it's bright and sunny. Thinking we'll get put for a bit, but I have nowhere to go and all the playgrounds are soaked after all the rain last night.
I love storms. I just said that to H last night and then we came home from watching the storm over the lake to our basement ceiling leaking in the old bomb shelter that we now use for storage hopefully it's just the angle of the rain last night and not a frequent thing.
Good parenting is blasting "circle of life" in the car so your toddler doesn't fall asleep.
I sing old McDonald as loud as possible and reach back to play with her hair. It's very very difficult for me to reach over the back of her seat to do it but desperate times and all that.

Good luck lgsdesigner hoping for a good recovery! Glad it went well today.
Both kids are napping. K has been throwing everything out of her crib, taking off her pants and diaper, and jumping on it like a trampoline. Bedtime and naps in the flyinghorses house has become a complete shitshow. R hates sleeping at night, and also quite possibly may hate breastfeeding. So basically all my kids hate me. It's so fun.

We get, NOOOOOO followed by a flailing hand. Super fun.

Well, our counselling session went as best as can be hoped for. We talked through a few things, were given some homework to do and go back in a couple of weeks.
DH is a bit skeptical but it's mostly because he doesn't want the doctor to "dismiss our issues as typical marital struggles and tell us just to be nicer to each other". Although, honestly, that would probably be helpful in getting us around some of the other things.
If I am truthful with myself about it, I think are main issues are pretty typical but they are exacerbated by DHs anxiety and depression and the effects that that has had on our ability to connect to each other.
Anyway, I'm hopeful that we're headed in the right direction.
Thanks for the kind words this morning. I appreciate you all being so supportive.
