I am beyond livid at the project manager for my new bakery construction. My landlords are contractors and do all the work on their own properties. I hear nothing but good things about them from everyone that I mention their name to. Everyone. To a person. But apparently my project manager failed to include the actual hook up of my freezer in the quote for setting up my freezer. I'm not sure how she thought that that was ok. Like perhaps she thought that I was just building a really expensive bedroom? To her credit, she has already arranged for the right person to come out tomorrow and hook it up (the error was realized at noon today). Which is great, but it's at an additional cost of $3360. Which I'm sure I can just whip out of my wallet and throw down! I am slowly writing a response to her email (if I had responded in the moment it would have included a plethora of swear words) and I'm trying to decide if I should cc her boss - specifically the owner of the company. HE is the one that I specifically hear great things about and the one who would make a decision about covering some of that cost themselves. I am sure that he will hear about this either way (they are a smallish company), but CC'ing him would let me put it in my own words. But it's also a dick move on my part and they will be my landlords for years to come. And should I ask them to cover some of that cost? Their guys are working late tonight and early tomorrow to get things set up for the refrigeration guys. I've asked for a full accounting of all expenditures, so that there are no more surprises, but I've stopped short of asking them to share the cost in any way. If I do ask them to share that cost, what do I ask for? Thank you guys. I want to be careful how I reply this ridiculous situation.
