I volunteered to watch our friends' two kids this morning so their mom can run a race. I'm a terrible person. They are annoying me... ages 2 and 5. The 5 year old acts like she is 3. Luckily their dad is coming within the next hour or so to pick them up!
It's supposed to rain all weekend and DH is working crazy hours. Again. Pls send help. And ideas for activities beyond watching Moana 18 billion times.
Set out a mat/ Vinyl table cloth/ bath towels. Tub of water and measuring cups and Tupperware. Let her go- up to an hour here. If you have plastic toys my boys love to wash them- we do car wash since we have 182647392 hotwheels.

Laying low today but feeling much better than last night. Dh and the boys are going to go get plants and seeds and do some planting this morning. Dh and I have date night tonight. Not sure what I'm going to eat but excited to go out. Has anyone seen gifted yet?
I'm doing something right!! (Or maybe it's my H?) We all got up this morning, I peed and put on some pants. Suddenly R only wanted to be with "daddy", and in the hallway, kept pushing me back to our room saying "mama sleep, mama sleep"! Praise Hands this kid knows mama so well!!!! So of course I'm on TCF and listening to them be cute while making me coffee. I have all the heart eye emojis.
Today is low key for us too. It's rainy and dreary. My mom is taking nick later for a sleepover and ryan and I are heading to or favorite Chinese/Japanese byob restaurant. I am so excited. I have my bottle of wine and appetite ready.

H is at work again so it's me and the boys for the day. Lots of laundry to catch up on. I've already applied to 3 more jobs this morning, one is a company that offered me a job in December, but this one is full time so I'm hoping they offer again. The other two are full time nights for a company I'm technically still employed by so hoping that works to my advantage. I'm just applying to everything now and not being picky, we have no full time sitter now so it's crunch time and I really need to get something quick. I fell asleep before we could discuss me quitting last night, tonight we'll have to talk it through and make a decision.
lonegalathome great idea! I'm going to do that with the boys later on. They love washing their toys. It's supposed to be nice so I may set it up on the deck for even easier clean up.
It's supposed to rain and be a high of 50 today and I've been planning all week that the kids soccer game would be cancelled this afternoon. But for now the fields are open and I'm super bitter about it.
Also, I bought my niece a necklace for her christening tomorrow from Amazon and they shipped it to New Jersey and I won't get it today. Boo. So now I need to go find her a gift.
We have a birthday party at a splash pad today...the high is 65 today. MIL is coming to watch DS2 while we're gone because he's too much to keep up with. DH and I may do a late lunch date and grocery shop since he's going hog hunting tonight/tomorrow morning.

We've also done this with two big bowls, uncooked rice, and containers to let her pour it back and forth. If you're feeling super motivated, you can food color the rice which makes it a fun rainbow-y mess
There's a post on Facebook from a parent who's kid has gotten bitten 3 times at daycare asking for advice on what to do. His kid is 16 months, the biter is 17 months. Someone told him to seek legal action. Against the other toddler or the daycare, I'm not sure. Just, wow.

H tried to take F camping last night. I guess it went really well until 3AM when F decided it was party time in the tent and wouldn't go back to sleep. Now he's snoozing in his crib, and it's 9:00. I have no idea how today is going to go. He fell asleep at home at 7...
And H will be cranky too. Someone save me from my overtired boys!
ashiscute can you print a picture of the necklace and put it in a card?
I could but I'd feel awfully bad giving her nothing tangible. She's only 4 and we're to be her godparents. I have a coupon to learning express so I'm headed there to see what I can find.
I wanted to get some real scrubbing done in the house today, but then last night my husband reminded me that he's working all day. The kids are already crazy. We'll probably venture outside at some point. Pray for my sanity.
DH is still out of town and the boys and I are at McDonald's for breakfast. I figured, hey no one's been sick lately, we should probably go to the play place and pick up some germs!

We had a great time on vacation this week. The dark cloud of reality is starting to move in and I don't like it. 2 more months till summer break...I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!
It's rainy and gross here too. Soccer was cancelled as a result so we have an almost free Saturday! I went yard saling with a friend this morning and am stuffing my face with pizza while AB naps. Glorious!
lawandorder how long will you be gone? My mom used to travel a lot for work and would do things to break up the trip. She'd leave a sheet of paper with a list:
Monday: mommy calls during dinner Tuesday: open surprise from mommy during lunch Tuesday night: pizza night with nanny! Wednesday: mommy calls in the morning, open note from mommy at bedtime Thursday: mommy comes home!!!
And so on... it's probably easier now with FaceTime etc. but breaking up the time into a schedule really eased my anxiety, and I was a very anxious child!
Wompwomp. Ear infection. Of course she fell asleep at target waiting for her prescription and now I can get her to transfer into bed for the rest of her nap. Wahhh mama has stuff to do.

We were going to go to the farmers market this morning, but Elena got up really early and needed an early nap. Now it's quickly getting into "too warm for Kris to wear Max" territory, so boo.
I have a ton of stuff I want to get done now this weekend, but it'll take a lot of coordination of things around the house and I don't think my children will cooperate. God, I miss just doing things when I wanted to.

Well shit, we'd be in trouble! A was a biter for a long time Toddlers be toddlerin'
@wafflesfriendswork, Nooooo! Sorry for such a rough start to the weekend. These are the times I wish we lived just a liiiiiiiiiiiitttle bit closer. My new buyer is a builder out by you and told me he'd sell me a new construction home at a decent price. I was very tempted!

I was thinking this too. Henry would need counsel on retainer.

@wafflesfriendswork If she wasn't sick I'd say go let her play in the rain. Make a fort, make a noodle necklace, play with pots and pans! Or you can sneak onto my toddler tricks Facebook page to get a ton of ideas!
