P used to vomit every time she tried to poo. Our allergist recommended 1/4 tsp chia seed daily. We add it to yogurt or applesauce. It works really well while being really gentle and not swinging too far to the other side IYKWIM.
S was researching toddler constipation a lot recently bc of our R's accidents and bedwetting and generally giant poops.
We read that they can very likely be pooping daily, but if they are so clogged up, the old stuff is just sitting in there while newer waste passes around it.
And there were a number of articles he read suggesting that an enema is a safe and effective method to completely clear out the back up.
We actually have a pediatric GI appt in June to hopefully get some answers.

The ER said to just give him juice and high fiber foods for a few days, then try miralax if it doesn't get better.
We will follow up with our pedi this week. He just throws up every time he eats more than a few bites. But he's hungry. So I'm going out for juice and chia seeds as Tj recommended this morning to see if i can get him comfortable today.
At least it's nothing more serious. It's just odd because he has had literally no other symptoms leading up to this. Nothing.
He seems to have cleaned himself out last Monday, and has been ok since Tuesday (so for a week). We're working on making sure he's getting enough fiber, and I'm going to pick up Chia seeds this week to start using that to hopefully prevent this from happening again. He's still going regularly but once a day. No more.
His regular pedi was on vacation last week and the other doctor we saw had zero answers. I may ask for a follow-up x-ray at his well check in June to just make sure we're on the right track.

Bionaturae has really good whole wheat pasta, if you're looking for toddler friendly fiber.
