This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester. Feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited farewell on your way to 3rd tri after 27 weeks.
If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below (and tag me) and include: -EDD and team if you know/team green if you aren't finding out? -How far along you are? -Upcoming appointments? -Anything you’d like to share.
I haven't been a good TCF poster lately. I've been working a ton and it's been draining.
I'm 26+2 and I've been having good and bad days lately. My energy levels have plummeted all of a sudden and my body is achy more than usual. I think it's from working so much (my job is super physical). Luckily MH is great with picking up my slack in situations like this.
QOTW: We do have a name for our little man. We are keeping it to ourselves until he's born. I don't want people's opinions or reactions to his name. It's feel like it's free game before they are born, and most people keep their opinions to themselves once the baby is here.
Hey all, I'm 22+4 and can't believe I'm this far along. I'm feeling the baby regularly now. Not all the time but at least 2 or 3 times a day. DH hasn't been able to feel him yet but I'm hoping soon.
I feel better about our registries though I need to work on them. I put the basics on them and things I think we'll definitely need. But I need to put a few more things on them.
My parents said they are buying our crib and crib mattress which is a big relief. My work just asked about throwing me a shower so that will be the end of May.
I feel like my hips have been aching and I've been out of breath a little bit lately which is weird. I'm definitely showing now and I'm waiting for one of the kids at school to call me on it. I haven't told them yet and am hold out as long as possible.
easilyunamused, We have no clue on a name but I've already told my family not to ask because we aren't telling until he's born. I also don't want the opinions. I've already had enough unsolicited opinions on names so I'm not sharing that way people will just shut up.
easilyunamused, holy moly we switch to the third trimester check in next week! Sorry you're not feeling well, but so glad your H is awesome.
king26, Movement is seriously the best. Hope your H feels it soon!
I'm also 26w2d and it's unreal that we're almost in the third trimester. Everyday I feel her more and more, as of Friday you can see it from the outside, which is so cool.
My doc had me do the 2 hr GTT and I hit 153, I see him next Tuesday and I fully expect him to make me alter my diet. I was really surprised since I haven't gained much weight, but I was definitely overweight before I got pregnant.
Our shower is next Sunday so I'm going to eat all the gluten free goodies my sister is bringing before I have to cut out sugar.
QOTW: We've narrowed it down to Harper (super popular) Avery, and Addison. My friend laughed when I told her bc they're all names from Grey's Anatomy - not on purpose though! We decided to commit to a name after we meet her. So it probably won't be any of the above lol.
Me: 31 Wife: 30. Legally married 2008, thanks CA! TTC #1 since 11/14 using donor sperm. IUIs Jan-Aug 2015 BFN Sept & OCT 2015 added Femara. BFN Saw RE December 2015. IUI with Clomid & Trigger Jan 2016 BFN IUI #13 with Follistim April 2016 BFFN IVF #1 July 2016. 14R, 10F, 6 Day 5 embryos. 4 PGS normal embabies!
JustJudy, I totally thought Grey's Anatomy when I read those. I love Avery, it was the name of our favorite dog and was definitely on the list of girls' names if we were having a girl.
I am 25wks 5d today. And this is my last week of class then just finals, I am so excited. I have been have trouble sleeping and just have low energy so I am ready for a little less work.
My GT test was postponed until May 4 because my doctor didn't think I was far enough along for an accurate result. It was a bit annoying but they did agree to have me do it at my next appointment rather than coming in just to do it so that was at least something good.
I also started cleaning out our home office which will be a baby room. It is the biggest of the remaining bedrooms and we will be turning our guest room into the office.
Q: We are going to use a family name that men have had on my mom and dad's side of the family. We have the first name picked but not the middle name.
yellowcat, yay for being almost done! I have 8 days until my last final and it can't come soon enough. Even though I have to attend summer semester I just need those two weeks off in between! You're not teaching this summer, right?
AFM, I'm 22w3d and physically feeling pretty good. I feel baby move a few times every day but still not consistent and it is causing me a lot of anxiety on days I don't feel much. I'm seriously thinking it may be time to see a therapist or something because my anxiety is becoming overwhelming and kind of crippling. Like I find myself unable to do anything to prepare for her arrival without getting panicky. Like when I was working on my registry I started to feel panicked that I would have all this stuff and end up with no thb! Same thing when my mom told me that my SIL sent out my shower invitations. I immediately thought, what if something happens and we have to call it off? I want so badly to just be able to enjoy my pregnancy and be excited. We were going to start on the nursery this weekend and I dragged my feet and worked on other stuff around the house because I got too nervous that working on the nursery would jinx things. I feel crazy.
QOTW: Ha! As you can probably guess from the insane rant I just posted there's no way I could commit to a name for this baby yet. But MH and I have discussed a few names we like, so far nothing I've felt completely in love with. We said we weren't going to tell but mh is the woooorst secret keeper and has spilled a couple of the names we're considering to some family and some people have made comments which have then made me second guess our names (mh said he doesn't care at all what anyone says but I can't help it, it bugs me). So, we've decided that once we do decide we're not telling until she's born because I don't want people's unsolicited rude comments. Part of me feels like I won't really decide until I see her.
yellowcat, Yay for almost being done! Enjoy some time off.
cali, I totally get you. With our shower being sort of early I have to tell myself daily to not focus on the very small possibility we may have to return things if something happens. It sucks so so much.

cali, I'm sorry you're feeling so much anxiety. I think it would be very beneficial to talk to someone about it and try to get it under control. It sucks when you can't feel like there's ever a "safe" time in pregnancy. I still feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. (Hugs)
I'm 25+3. Feeling full easily now and not very hungry. I had a cold last week which was no fun without any meds. Feeling better now though. I feel good physically. Having some body image issues though :/
Yesterday we registered and I was surprised I had fun and was excited. I'd been anxious about it.
Qotw: We do have a name but I don't want to tell many people because I don't want them referring to her by name until she is born. It's A.lexa Gr.ace
-EDD and team if you know/team green if you aren't finding out? 10/17 and we're having a girl!! -How far along you are? 14 weeks 6 days -Upcoming appointments? 4/27. Finally. -Anything you’d like to share.
QOTW: We have a first name. No middle name yet. I think we need to come up with more options! We probably won't share until we have a solid idea for a name.

easilyunamused, I agree on not telling the name. My H told my SIL a couple of the names we are thinking and on one of them she started to say she didn't like it and then stopped herself since she still remembers MIL hating the name she had picked for her son.
king26, he probably is big enough that he is starting to encroach on your lung/air space. If you still have shortness of breath at your next OB appointment you might want to mention it to your doc since some people do develop pregnancy related asthma.
JustJudy, yay for almost being in 3rd tri and for outside movement!!!!
Yay for being at the end of classes yellowcat. Good luck on your finals!
cali, I'm in the same boat as you - no names that I'm really in love with. I like the plan of not telling anyone until after she is born.
yoshijo28, love the name! I'm gad you are feeling better.

I'm 22+4 and still hanging out on home bedrest. I have a cervix check tomorrow with the MFM and OB. I get to leave the house!
QOTW- I think we are pretty close on our girl name. We have two that we keep going back and forth on but H just brought up a third name that is really, really close to a name I dreamed about back in 2012. In that dream I was walking abound with a little girl and when I woke up and knew what her name was. I still feel like the name I dreamt about is the one. H isn't there yet. We definitely have middle names for both picked.
cali, I'm really sorry you're having so much anxiety. Its so hard to overcome infertility brain/thoughts but I hope you can get a little relief and enjoy being pregnant! Have you ever tried acupuncture to help with that? Just a thought.
AFM: Hey guys, I'm 21wks + 3dys with green twins. I had OB appt today (although the OB got called for a delivery and no other Dr or midwife was available so I saw the PA. I was a little annoyed but I just saw the MFM last week so its ok). Everything looked good though and I had a quick ultrasound to check the babies heart rates. I'm still seeing the MFM every two weeks to monitor the SCH as well as the bleeding in the membrane. It was "stable" though the other day so they are letting me fly to AZ for a little trip this weekend (yay!). She said "NO" when I asked about visiting the in-laws in Hawaii which is what I expected. I'd rather be safe than sorry, but I'm glad we can do the trip to AZ!
QOTW: We have a couple names we like but nothing set in stone. Also since we aren't finding out the genders we need 4 names (in case its two boys or two girls)! I think we will have a few different possibilities/combos that we like but won't decide until after the babies arrive and we can see them (we waited at least a whole day to name DS). And, as some others have said, we won't be sharing our name(s) with anyone. Too many unwanted opinions!

Hi ladies! I'm 22w1d. Had an OB appointment this morning and all went well. Found out I have to do the GTT again since I'm AMA. Yaaaay. Have a growth ultrasound in June and then will start twice weekly appointments (BPP/NST) at the beginning of July. I should also have my csection scheduled in the next few days. Getting all of this info at today's appointment makes it feel like it's all happening so fast!
QOTW: We haven't started talking about names yet. We had the hardest time with names last time so I'm sure it will be the same this time. Since we're team green we'll have to have a boy and girl name picked out. We should probably get on that sometime soon. Once we do have them figured out, we won't tell anyone until the baby is here.

Hi everyone! I'm 21w2d. Plugging along! Had our f/u AS today. I'd been driving myself crazy convinced I wasn't feeling them as much and thinking one wasn't moving. But all looked good. In fact they both move so much they still couldn't get all the measurements. But what they could see looked good. Both babes are right at 1lb and the MFM said the cyst on baby b's brain looks now "not clinically significant"...and since I got home I've been feeling them like crazy. I go to OB Wednesday and back for u/s in 3 weeks.
QOTW: we have six names (three for each sex) picked out, we know the top for each sex but then have two to choose from if there are two of the same sex, we'll decide when we meet them. I love all the names but am not telling anyone bc I don't want to hear anything negative about them! It was shockingly easy to pick with MH...we had a three year long list of 100+ names we gathered over the years. One for each sex wasn't on the list even with all that, ha!
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
I'm 16 weeks, 3 days .... feeling large already, which is hard from a body image perspective. I know, I know, it's only going to get worse. Bought myself some tums, and thus far, just using them sporadically, but it's coming, I can tell.
QOTW: we have some names, but I'm superstitious and even after we have a name, we'll never use it until she's on the outside.
Well I just got the call that I get to go on the diabetes diet and take my blood sugar daily for a while. Boo! I have to go to a class at my hospital and then start.

I'm terrible at checking in. I'll try to come back and read later.
I'm 24+5 today. We have passed V-day so that's a huge relief.
I had my 24 week appointment and repeat U/S last Friday. They had noticed some extra fluid in the little man's kidneys at his A/S at 20 weeks and needed to recheck. It turns out that they got a little more full since then and now I am stuck going every two weeks for U/S monitoring and appointments.
They consider anything over 4mm to be abnormal. His right kidney is at 4.7mm and the left is at 5.6mm. Not too bad and the Dr said that it is a fairly common finding so she isn't too worried about it. We just need to monitor any increase in fluid buildup and make sure he has enough amniotic fluid to make sure he is peeing adequately. If it happens to resolve on it's own before birth we won't have to do the U/S anymore, however if it doesn't we will have to take him in for monitoring once he is born.
QOTW: We are almost 100% set on Oliver Scot. Scot is my brother's middle name and the baby is due 2 days after his birthday so I think it would be pretty cool if they were born on the same day 20 years apart.

I wasn't fully awake when the NP called but I think I take my blood sugar daily for a weekish and then they re-evaluate. She said he doesn't give the 3hr, just the 2hr.

That's good. The 3hr test is notoriously inaccurate. Coming from a lab tech who has been falsely diagnosed with GD twice. It's much more accurate to test your sugars at home and look at any trends to see if there is an actual problem than it is to do a test where you aren't in a normal setting. Good luck.
